Stationery is its own world. This channel is about that world. Especially fountain pen and everything around it.
This writing instrument is something very special. It creates a distinctly different handwriting impression than is possible with other writing instruments such as ballpoint pens, rollerballs or pencils.
And then the option to search for his special ink in addition to the individual fountain pen makes this field special.
You will find here regularly (currently at least one video per month) the presentation of the different fountain pens with their features and advantages and disadvantages. Have a look at the different models, no matter if cheap model or extremely expensive limited editions. And of course videos on all topics related to the fountain pen and writing with it.

Otto Hutt design05 - fountain pen review - Unusual but good
My wife's been impressed with Rhodia paper only recently deciding to try it, as a lifelong fountain pen user, with her old Parker Quink, Lamy, ATCross (later finding it was Pelikan 4001 ink bottled for Cross) Sheaffer & MontBlanc inks, as well as only 2 years ago deciding to try a Diamine, Ferris Wheel Press and Dominant Industry ink for the first time. 'Sheen' is known to her as being occasional if you're pausing on a word to think and a little extra ink gets laid down, so colours which separate being purposely made to do so, is a new one on her. ✒ She looked at these inks when they came out recently and first thing she wondered with coated FPF friendly papers is if the coating would interfere as surely it can't be made to interact with all papers in the exact same way! 📖So thanks for your video! And indeed, it doesn't seem to work on Rhodia at all, so as she has most colours, her advice on this would be to buy the ink assuming you'll get the base colour only and any sheen in another colour which may show is just a bonus and on that basis you won't be disappointed. Thanks for your video and happy writing.✍ PS as it took a while to understand mag-enta as you pronounced it, to be helpful it sounds like "ma-jenta" 💜
I was surprised when you showed diplomat Magnum for comparison as it's the slim and lightweight pen I have after sailor high aceneo so was thinking for comparison but when you showed that I got very happy😊❤
Thanks for the video!! Is the nib a Medium ? Or else?
That was a medium nib. Correct.
Nice! More of these please.
Wow. That is amazing. Thank you.
This was a fantastic video. There aren't a lot of videos on Octopus Write & Draw inks, and frankly, I think this is the best of them. You covered a lot of ground. I actually already own several bottles - and I do use them in my TWSBI Eco fountain pens. The TWSBI has a good tight cap, and a cap liner. These inks write well on very inexpensive paper - student ruled paper, or even photo copy paper. The ink does not bleed. The ink does not fade. I made a list of library books I need to pick up - and got caught in the rain (on the way to, and from the library). My list was soaked - but it never bled. Once dry, the ink really did not change. This is my personal favourite ink of all right now - and it is a daily writer. Thanks again for a fantastic video.
I like M is so much smoother
Hi Chris, I bought a Ritma a couple of weeks ago-a year after this video dropped. I love this thing! I also have just a slight bit of play in my cap, but it doesn’t seem to affect the ink drying out. It is, no doubt, my favorite daily writer.
I'm glad you like the fountain pen and that you've found a Daily Writer. The cap issue will certainly affect many pens. But I also haven't noticed any major effects on the drying out of the ink. I hope you continue to enjoy your fountain pen.
Amazing how the paper makes or brackes the look of the inks. Great video, Danke.
Yes, the paper is so important with sheen inks. More than normally with fountain pens.
Thanks
It was my pleasure
Thank you for this! Please can I ask: is the unposted weight inhibitive at all? Thanks again 😊
I'm sorry. I am not sure, what you mean. Can you rephrase that?
@@WritingDelight My apologies. Basically, I’m just wondering if the pen’s weight makes writing difficult at all?
Thank you for this review. I bought one of these about 3 years ago, and am very impressed. I have always liked Online Campus and village pens so thought I would "trade-up." I would recommend this to anyone. I much prefer it to my Lamy Scala and Studio.
Nice, unusual pen, thanks for the show.
Excellent video. And a nice looking pen of unusual design.
In this video, the sound somehow doesn't seem to be up to my normal standard. I apologize for that. I will look for the error and hopefully fix it next time.
Good review! how would you describe the nib width & wetness of the Cleo? is it comparable to a medium nib of a Pelikan, lamy or a B nib of pilot, sailor?
Agree 👍
Thanks for this - a useful and informative video.
My favourite paper is Tomoe River paper which I like for its crispness. Unfortunately it is proving difficult to obtain in Australia 🇦🇺
I am thinking of moving up from a Baily Light, would you recommend this from your experience ?
Unfortunately, I don't own a Baily Light. So it's a bit difficult. But as far as I know, a Century II is a good step forward
@@WritingDelight thanks for the reply
I really liked the video. This was a truely complete and well shown review for these inks. Please keep the great work ❤
Thank you
Very useful video - thank you!
Excellent list and video. Is the Waterman Allure the same design as the Parker Vector XL?
I really like how you present your review. Very specific and only the important aspects of the pen that we must consider. Living in Germany for many years, I appreciate the quality that is put into everything made there and I also appreciate the honest evaluation from German people of their own products. Telling it like it is.
Really good video. Many thanks. I've subscribed. I really like the Online pens I have bought in Germany over the years - mostly from Muller in Frnakfurt or Karlsruhe! I really like their innovative designs. It is a much under-rated company.
I'd be more than happy to see it compared with Parker Vector XL.
I have a few of these. Diplomat steel nibs are amongst the best. I like a pen with heft so I will have to get one of these.
Did you ever get one? How is it?
Can I swap a premium nib into a plastic sport? I get that the feeds might not work but what about the nib itself? Thank you
Here is a data point in case someone might find it useful. I have a collection of 12 different beginner pens with <A> nibs from Germany. I like them because I find the nibs very round, sturdy and reliable. Also I am amused by the kiddie aesthetic. I have formed opinions on 7 of them, the other 5 being unremarkable: RECOMMENDED Pelikan Pelikano jr - reliable and smooth Schneider EASYbuddy - nicely wet and extremely smooth. Lamy Nexx - pleasant. NOT RECOMMENDED Faber-Castell Scribolino - leaked, too wet. Herlitz Tornado - too dry Lamy ABC - awkward, too dry Rotring Primus - too fine Cheers
Hello Chris.
The Ineo is a very nice an smooth writing pen. I bought the fiery red version and in combination with Pelikan's Edelstein Garnet ink it is my new favorite. Of course, it would be perfect , if a converter would fit.
Great review! How about a pearl iridescent vs apricot pearl video?
Such an excellent overview! Thank you, I find this very helpful.
All fountain pens must be "broken in" before the knib will become adapted to its owner's writing style. This is why the older generation will never let anyone else borrow their personal fountain pen! ...it's also why those in the know will always prefer a gold knib, because its softer metal allows the knib to better adapt to your writing style.
The kaweco mini converter fits
pelikan m120 is best
Rather an uninspired pen... Seems like some marketing people designed it, not actually pen lovers.
Mich würde mal interessieren, wie es hier mit den Kombipatronen, wie z.B. von Online aussieht.
No converter and no posting are a no go for me, sorry because it's really nice looking
I once used a Parker Vector, similarly slim. And I'm not interested anymore in ultra slim design. No clip? Can't fit all my pens in a single pocket anyway! No posting? Strange. No converter fitting? I've seen pens with converter allowed though won't fit "long international" cartridge, but never the opposite. Very interesting nib. Impressive for such an humble steel nib.
Finally a barrel that does not feel like I'm in kindergarten coloring with a fat crayon.
Where can this be purchased?
Beautiful pen. I have no problem refilling a cartridge. How the pen writes is the most important factor. I like a slim pen. Manufacturing a specialized converter would probably have changed the offered price.
I'm curious as to where you found this pen for purchase? Nowhere on their website does it show any mention of it.
Sooo close ! This could have been a very good pen. Much like the LAMY CP1, great design but just too thin. I just can't imagine what demographic this was designed for?
I know what you mean.
I'm curious as to where you found this pen for purchase? Nowhere on their website does it show any mention of it.
Just my 3 cent opinion ... I do not mind using a cartridge and I am happy to reuse them. If one wants to use a bottle ink color then empty a cartridge into a sample vial, clean the cartridge and wala. I do understand the concern of a non converter design and the use of double small cartridges. The inability of the small cartridge is a concern as they do come in a variety of colors. When all is said and done, fountain pen variety and style and construction just adds a bit more enjoyment over the same old same old.
I also think that variety is simply an important and good thing. However, I use converters almost exclusively. And in that respect I'm a little biased ;)
The barrel is too thin. I would say this is this model's biggest flaw. I like how they look though.
I see it similarly to you.
do the kaweco pull converters fit? they're pretty small
I think I tried it. But will try it again when I get back.
Yes. They do fit
I was all excited to buy one of these, but they’re not available yet, as far as I can tell! Did they happen to give you details of when it will be released? I’m a huge fan of cylindrical, modern, minimalist pens, so I can’t wait to get my hands on one.
I got the info that they should be available when the vid got online. Unfortunately, I haven't seen them in the shops yet either. I will enquire. I'll probably see Pelikan at the fair this weekend. I hope they can help me there. Otherwise I'll ask the person in charge directly.
This seems very much inspired by the Lamy Ideos to me, and I think Lamy did this type of design better, but this might be a good alternative to the Ideos if you prefer not to have the teardrop shape in the grip
I still find enough differences. But let's be honest. Inspiration can be found everywhere and sometimes similarities are actually coincidence. But I don't know.
