Thanks for taking the time to give us "on the fence" buyers your experience with these pressings; it can be hard for us to know if they are worth the added expense. On an aside, I think you may be misunderstanding how compression effects perceived volume.

I have the Blue and thanks for the video. Btw its mounted on the Argon TT4 and using the built in RIAA.

I’m not a fan of single albums reissued on two 45 RPM records. The next studio Joni Mitchell album Herija is one of her best. I think you will like it.

I disagree...VMP has always made it about the packaging. Foil lettering or booklets or drink recipes... with VMP it has been somewhat about the packaging.

So I will have the complete Rock Track. It's disappointing because I added it. I have the Essentials. I have thought about dropping the Essentials for the Rock.

UHQR are super. For folks who prefer alternative pressings of the same series go for 'Original Jazz Classics" Craft pressings from RTI. Cut by Kevin Gray. Flat and quiet. AAA master tapes, sound great.

Project Re:Vinyl is a great series, you can’t go wrong with their selections AND the sound quality of their releases are almost always top notch.

Why do people keep buying this crap turntable? The tonearm and gimbal bearings are a disgrace! Crappy plastic cueing lever... They have just put an ok cartridge on a crap turntable... And people have fallen for it

My whole thing is that I don't trust people. If I lived nearby I would do it all the time...but to send it and then hope it comes back...and let's say you have some rare stuff or original...just something that you can't just get easy...it doesn't matter if cost is covered...you ain't getting that back. And this isn't diss on PVF....diss is more on US postal service...the way you see how they handle some of the packages in some videos....they just throw them in truck....I could never. Sounds like a great service and if you live nearby should proably at least try it out....but posting is such a risk. Even more so nowdays. I'm pretty sure Steve is gonna come up with mass produciton machine if he hasn't already. And the reason will most likely be postal services...or their lack of quality.

These sound so amazing. I listened to Sunday with headphones and I had to take a cup off a couple times because I thought some of the crowd noises was someone walking around my house 😂. Good ole hardwood floors lol

If you like Bill Evans with an outstanding drummer and super high quality recording, get “Empathy” with Shelly Manne. One of my favorites and I’ve been into Bill Evans since the mid-1970s. Two 45 RPM records that are stunning and are less than $70.00. You owe it to yourself, just buy it.

I hope/wish Chad likes Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin in UHQR

The griping about the boxes, the arguing about the choices of Chad in what is covered in the UHQR series, etc, etc., is enough to drive a man mad. Let Chad do what the heck Chad wants to do, if you don’t like it, take your money elsewhere. These titles are incredibly done and they will sell out!

Great video. I am really enjoying your content. I have AP The Riverside box and these new UHQRs. I heavily debated on getting the UHQRs because I genuinely think the 45s in the boxset sound just about perfect, but I caved. The differences end up being pretty minimal between the two. The UHQR is definitely quieter, the vinyl has a lower noise floor. The decay on the base and the cymbals are also improved on the UHQRs. I dont believe I have ever heard such natural sounding cymbals on an album before. The soundstage and imaging on both the AP 45 and the UHQR are just about identical. I own the reissued Boxset from 2022. These 2022 box sets have updated tweeking for this reissue. I dont know the extent of the tweaking, or if KG re-ran everything on his new equipment, but I do know it is slightly different from the previous issues of this box and the box is pressed at RTI, not at QRP. I had qc issues on the first box I ordered, 11 of the 22 records had warps or were offcentered. It wasn't bad enough to impact the sound, but for $900, I wanted perfection. AP worked with me and sent me a brand new box. All of the records in the second box were perfect. The sound quality on all of these 45 from the box sound fantastic. The jackets are lackluster, but they are shiny and the printing is good. If you are on the fence about buying this box set, I would say "buy once, cry once". You will be forever happy with this set. OJC may end up reissuing most of this set over the next 5 or so years, but in my opinion, they dont sounds as good. They are 33s, so if you hate flipping 45s, want to save money, and dont care about the marginally better sound quality, stick with the OJCs. Cheers

Everything I need to know about VMP is that they used to have great records for the monthly selections and now they’re wildly uninteresting. I canceled my Essentials and Classics subscription. I used to get super excited month over month, and now all I can do is swap for credit.

Black is lot more sensitive compared. It is better of these two but it needs the expensive equipment to support it. It is way too sensitive picking all the unwanted background noise also. When you hear it you can't unheard it. My pick is neither of these two. Ortofon OM Super 40 is almost as clear as 2M Black but without the background noise of being overly sensitive. You should put these two side by side and you would most likely pick the OM Super 40 even before you compare the price.

I love your videos...but I disagree...nothing and no one can beat the food you make...or the thing you make. BECAUSE YOU MADE IT. It's such a personal satisfaction reward that fuels your soul. Are there people who do it better than you ? Yeah of course...but you can learn. If we are just talking food here...the best of the best of the best chef in the world won't make food as good as you when you funally make it because it's done the way you like it. It's hard to explain but nothing beats personal taste. Same way tv stations can't compete with when you wanna watch the show/movie/anime/cartoon...or radios with which music you want to listen to and when.

You can not upgrade from the RT80 to the RT85, if you want to upgrade you must start at the RT82 then you can upgrade to the RT85.

Also recommended weight for the 2m blue is 1.8 grams, not 1.6. Bamboo is the best for not showing finger prints. I have had mine for 18 months and love it.

There are two turntables on the Audiophile section of the Audio-Technica website. One is the LP7 (the turntable shown in this review) and the LP 5 X. For various reasons, I prefer the LP 5X. The sound of both turntables is extremely similar if both are using the same cartridge, stylus and speaker system In comparing, otherwise, the two turntables: The LP5X plays 33, 45 and 78 RPM speeds. The LP 7 does not play 78 RPM speed; The LP5X is approximately $250 less expensive than the LP7; The LP5X has a hinged dust cover, the LP7 has a dust cover but not one that can be utilized when a record is being played like The LP5X has. The LP5X dust cover is hinged, the LP7 dust cover is not hinged; The LP5X is direct drive. The LP7 is belt drive.

Minimalistic recording is easier to get a spacious sound with I would imagine. Wish they would release l Drivin' n' Cryin' Fly Me Courageous... My favorite band since I discovered them in 1991. Some Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush would be cool to hear also.

Did you ever try putting the Ortofon black on the Fluance? I've read in a couple of places that it works - which makes sense if the design of Ortofon 2m carts is consistent across the range? Please do let me know!

I think a good video idea would be to grab a random vinyl record from a thrift shop, record the audio, complete the cleaning process and then re-record the audio for a test.

The biggest let down on Fluance turntables is the tonearm! Its awful!

I LIKE your transparency about all esp' talkin' all that jazz thing as it's a never ending deep ocean and I'm a beginning to discover some and loved it for 20+ years but we're always learning. Really, who has (or knows) it all let alone tastes of ALL genres? Impossible! I believe, even RVG wouldn't have heard everything ever, right? As long as your enjoying your music is the main thing! Unfortunately, people act like music a sport now (screw credibility) and flex their collections and knowledge - it's quite sad, don't be like that guy hehe but always do 'quality over quantity' - don't be an idiot hehe, & quality for me is those early - mid 60's Franklin albums, so seek those out / also LOVE Sharon Jones & anything Daptone. Keepin' it on the personal - How's those 'big hitting' Thad Jones - Magnificent & Hank Mobley's new CBN 'Workout' re's - those are total KILLER for all if you've not copped those yet while the TP's make me salivate :P !@@!, cheers man. Depends on the company but Colemine has been supporting the revival of souldies from East LA and promoted a lot more Latino black and soul music!

A great way to get introduced to Colemine artists is to pickup one or all of their Soul Slabs compilation releases. Fortunate to be a 5 minute drive from Plaid Room/Colemine.
