When I saw this video with Jiro Inagaki record. I was hoping I could find a copy at my local record shop. The next day I went I found one on the jazz section not on the RSD left overs. I almost fainted in excitement. 🙌😁😊
I live in south Jersey and went to college at West Chester University. It's been years since I've been back but your video makes me want to make the trip to visit that cool store!! Thank you!!
Oh, the Westbound comp! This is part of an awesome restoration and remastering campaign that will include the Funkadelic records. I definitely want to introduce you to the engineers currently working on this, it’s SUPER interesting what they’re doing.
Always enjoy your videos and keep discovering new artist and music. After watching this i streamed the album by Jiro Inagaki-an amazing album--looking forward to discovering something new next video!
Haha! 5:30 AM is early? 1:15 AM and I was 9th in line at our local record store. Wee bit jealous of ya scoring that Jiro LP. Your vids are spot on. Pro all the way.
Thanks! 🙏 I was waiting for someone to be like - “I wake up at 5:30am for work!” I definitely am lucky to not have to get out there at crazy times. There are some wild places out there.
This RSD was interesting - I keep hearing about cool records that I had no idea were included! And from the DJ KOCO Brazilian box, I really like the Ed Lincoln and Paulo Diniz picks in particular.
@@PiecesofVinyl I really enjoyed your video and am a new subscriber. I appreciate your time and effort in not only sharing your RSD experience, but talking with others in line and asking what they were planning to purchase and including them. Wonderful content and I look forward to checking out more my friend!
You picked up some good records. If you like the counts then explore Demo Cate stuff on his Scorpio label (based n Toronto). I 'm definitely grabbing the Dj Koco box set as I'm a fan of his live sets and selections.
I got at my record store at 3 AM and I was the 11th person in line. But I was able to get everything on my list. Joe Pesci, Penrose Showcase vol.2, Buena Vista Social Club, and Parliament, and I ordered the last The Westbound Sound from Plaid Room Sunday morning. I'm happy you had a great rsd brotha man, your a amazing cat. Much Love to you
Looks like a great place to buy your records. Rough Trade East in London has a cafe where you can drink a coffee. Anyway, I didn't get up to queue, but got to the shop an hour after opening. I got most of what I wanted, albums by Amboy Dukes, Rolling Stones, Marianne Faithfull, Scott Walker, Jeff Buckley , and The Flirtations which was an impulse buy. Also a couple of 7 inch singles by Pharaoh Sanders and Paul Weller. Need some time to listen to them all.
Wow... I did not see that Jiro on the list. I would have got up at 5am for that one too. There's some great stuff on that Re-Vinyl label. You can get other versions cheaper but i kinda like the OBI.
Thanks to your preview video I was also looking for the Jiro Inagaki album, but the store that had it in NYC was not my main store. By the time I got to that store they were all gone. I'm not too bummed since I went over budget on my other choices. Thanks for turning me onto it, I'm now on the hunt for some Inagaki stuff on vinyl. I did get that Best of Band X album that flew under the radar, and I'm thrilled. It's an amazing find.
Check out HHV.DE - they have some re issues and I think they have the In the Groove - they are from Germany - but their shipping to the US is reasonable - if that is where you are.
Oddly enough, there are a few left on Bandcamp for 50 euro. Enjoy going down that rabbit hole. So may phenomenal albums and artists associated with Jiro Inagaki.
Awesome video and production! Living in Norway the RSD is much smaller, and it is just one record store who participate. Got De La Soul live album, which has really bad sound, but needed it in de De La- collection, And the second and last record; Everything But The Girl. I'm on a OG copy spree, so just had those two on the list.
I am always skeptical about Live Records - I was thinking about the De La sol - but I need to get all of their Studio albums first. Thanks for kind words!

Project Re:Vinyl is a great series, you can’t go wrong with their selections AND the sound quality of their releases are almost always top notch.
I agree!
Awesome video! Will be visiting Hop Fidelity soon after seeing your video.
It's def. worth the time!

Not sure when you were there last
- but they have built up a lot of cool stuff especially in that part of market street.

I saw Vinyl and Beer in the title so I am here! Two of my favorite things! 😁
Excellent video! Looks like the owners know how to treat their customers.
YES! That is why I put it in there!

Dang dude. This video reeks of meticulousness and hard work. I see and appreciate ya ☺️
Btw, I’m surprised you didn’t cop the Gil Scott-Heron and Brian Jackson - “Winter In America”
I was checking it out - I might pick it up still - there was a lot of stuff out there this year.

That is awesome - I had actually not heard of DJ Koco before so I will def, check him out as well.

I saw you got the Joe Pesci! I was curious about that - I wonder if Pat Martino the guitarist is on it?

I was very tempted on the Pharaoh Sanders Seven inch - should have gotten it!
Nice picks man! That In The Groove album looks really cool! Will look for that one!

@@andybartolotta8932 thanks for the tip Andy!
@@PiecesofVinyl thanks! I'll check them out.
You gotta check out "funky stuff" by Jiro and soul media now!

Great video, that was pleasant to watch!!
How many pieces of vinyl do you have?

@@PiecesofVinyl Do you collect cds as well? I'm also curious to know how many pieces of plastic you have.
@@authenticapparel9616 I do not - I have some left over - but I dont actively buy them - I do wear pieces of cotton. 😜
