One error in the description above: one of the contestants is actually radio personality Sherman Whitman, a longtime friend of the Fitchburg Historical Society and star on Fitchburg's K-Zone WPKZ. Not originally from Fitchburg, though he lives there now, he gives it the old college try with these local trivial questions!

It's really the American story. Fascinating how close knit the Jewish community here was. I have run to a number of people all over Massachusetts and farther afield whose American roots are in Fitchburg. Perhaps the furthest was a descendent of Barney Rosen, who now lives in the Netherlands. He visited the Fitchburg Historical Society quite a few years ago.

Just watched the interview with Bill Flynn. This is awesome. Brought me back to an exciting time when Fitchburg was on the move. I had to chuckle to myself when Bill talked about the Nashua River and what color it was on a particular day. All who grew up in Fitchburg during his time as mayor remember the crap that floated in the river. Bill did a great job as mayor. He was the driving force behind so many positive things for the city of Fitchburg. Thank you Bill for your years of leadership.
