This is so well done. Liked and subscribed.
Whenever I imagine consciousness beyond death, I’ve always imagined, like here, that you wouldn’t know you’re dead. Just like you typically never realize you’re in a dream. You don’t remember how you got there, you just sort of take it for granted, at least initially.
President Pierce is the only survivor from that family
The song sung is a traditional Irish one called “The Unfortunate Rake.” Marty Robbins repurposed it.
My favorite Coen Brother's movie! The stagecoach scene with Tyne Daily was my least favorite chapter.
The trapper’s dialogue is the funniest dialogue I’ve ever heard from a Cohen brothers’ movie. And this, coming from someone who can quote most of The Big Lebowski.
Come on bro, why was it so hard to simply tell the story as it was? Why did you have to go into modern politics? Those were INDIANS, and they were known for scalping people every now and then. So, no, it was not a stereotype.
Distraction is the only thing that makes life bearable considering the inevitable outcome ...
We spend nearly all our lives in a state of distraction.
I watched this movie after getting my wisdom teeth removed, and it was honestly one of the most confusing movies I've ever watched. Maybe coming down from the anesthesia affected my perception. It was also kind of boring, especially this bit. I suppose it doesn't appeal to my preference in movies.
"There are two kinds of men. Those with guns and those who dig."
You dont notice your own hypocrisy at 5:21 where you attack Christians? It was extremely judgmental and annoying.
This was a really good movie!
No one has yet explained to me who the guy wrapped up in bandages in the last story is. He surely can't be a corpse, after all they're ALL dead anyway. So who/what is he?
From my perspective, it seems that seeing the future (literally) is not required to create heptapod B logos. It's more accurate to say that one must know what their complete thought is. The logos do not show the future, they show complete thoughts as one symbol. Also, although the story in the movie (and the book?) shows literal knowing of the future, I think for viewers the more relevant version is the equivalent of knowing that if we see a two year old walking around a dining table in a small dining room carrying a butter knife, it's almost 100% sure that they will stick it in an electrical outlet. We don't stop to think of the events in order...our brain says, "get the butter knife from them. Move them to another room. Distract them with something else." The lesson is to expand that type of awareness to more complex areas of our lives. An effortless awareness of the preciousness of our lives, and of everything in it. Appreciate each moment with every single person in our lives, because somehow, in some way, each shared journey will end.
you’re examples of “differences” in definition of the word system seem to have the same definition, being applied to different situations.
No, I won't call it.
Human language can be tesced back a whopping 5600 years.
Great analysis! 👏👏
Loved this, but I feel like you missed an important point about the girl who rattled. Her meek innocence was a facade. While I do believe she was attracted to Billy, evidence like how she subtly said and did things that made dogs and humans disappear, would suggest that she saw him more of a handsome meal ticket than a man she loves.
So, what about Mr Thorpe?
Backsound title please
The English one in the duo looks like the man from the first chapter who was at the poker table and got the blood all over him when buster hit the plank making the guy shoot himself xxxx
Beautifully done. Thank you, sir.
Thank you. This is an excellent analysis. The film is brilliant: a fitting capstone to the amazing career of the Coen brothers.
You're so talented man, hope you cover some more popular movies to get your name out there
The question no one can answer: who is the guy on roof all covered with bandages?
Theyre all wrong. They're are in fact _three_ kinds of people. Those who can count, And those who cannot
Wonderful observations. I had not understood the thread tying all the stories in buster scruggs until this. Thank you.
This is why people have no respect for the liberal arts
One of the worst movies ever put together. Couldn't finish it. Ranks down there with Lost In Translation and Asteroid City.
Some folks get the wake up while there is time to concentrate on the beauty in the world around them. Truly we are the lucky ones.
Coughing is just shorthand in movies for being sick
The connection between the tragedies are both caused by animal
I think the ballard of Buster Scubs could have been a movie on its own, seriously. I mean, that small introduction of Buster was epic he had humor class danger pizzazz i mean he was the Clint Eastwood without the seriousness i reckon Holly idiots (Hollywood) missed that by a country mile. Mel Brooks would have turned Buster Scubs in to a goldmine.
The stage coach looks like Ankou. Celtic origin of Grim Reaper. He steers the carriage of souls and has a wide brimmed hat.
One of my favourite details I only clocked after checking the score out on spotify is that we hear "The Unfortunate Lad" played on a trumpet right at the beginning as the book is being opened. There must be many ways to interpret this but I do like the idea of the duo (and hence the Coen brothers!) laughing at us for indulging in their stories for the entire anthology. Hats off to Carter Burwell for such a beautiful and well-considered score!
who is here from the story of your life
Wow, just good job!
Karma is fake, this world is fake but the revenge of those over those are real. And yes the good has to suffer because the shapeshifters hides among us.....hence the biblical noah flood...... until they realize they all eventually die and no need to kill innocent people. God dies but can be recycled back in to existence but the climb to the top is always difficult when your device is wiped clean and you designed the cheat codes and subtle hint messages for the rising 🌞
??????????
This movie was about me, *SUBJECTIVELY*. God/DEEP UNIVERSE MANAGEMENT gave these creatures gifts to fight other undesireable gods/aliens and occasionally the technology can be used to fight crime like global terrorism but they used them on me tirelessly. Maybe to be used as a scared straight intentionally or unintentionally but bad kids go to scared straight camps for police oriented programming. I was lied to by a racist God operator for the pop program by the alien humanoids shapeshifters of Moses executioners......UNTIL MY TEAM WHO WAS A BIT CONFUSED BECAUSE GOD DOESN'T MAKE MISTAKES so thus i had to be guilty of something forced to smoke weed to be induced but weed is not a psychedelic and REMEMBER I hate weed and alcohol God doesn't make mistakes but PREFECTS do!!! GOD gave them power over us yes. But they are held accountable to principles by those over them. And if they cant police the police who is gonna police them. Thats how angels lose their wings or supreme aliens lose authority. Finally thats how death angels meet their death. And the part Mr Thorpe bumps his head in transition.....they did that for spite. She the authority witch like god.....knew i was innocent of both God and human traffic laws but still headlocked me like the bull in the private mithras society pic.... into a divorced and separation from my little girls. Nobody helped me? Thats the definition of pussy, yall afraid of a bigger god when they are wrong like Donald Trump and still politicking for president...... 😱
🎉🎉🎉So above so below. Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Even death has a death expiration. Birds eats ants then the Ants eats birds. You attack for mistakes or intentionals.... Now when you make a mistake or intentionals what shall you face (aliens, god, govt and trump). This movie establishes the structure of the dimensions we cant see but yet we feel their presence!!!
I like Rene’s philosophy
Awesome content!!
Idk why but I lost it when listening the trapper ramble on. Anyone with a deadpan delivery and rambles on like he does is the funniest thing . 😂

phenomenal analysis! just watched the movie for the third time and there's always a minute detail or nuance i cant quite figure on the go, but just as i dig more as though the miner did, i discover more gold each time i watch
the only one with a good ending was the gold prospector one
its been a long while since a movie has made me sit and think about it for a few minutes after it finished like that
Interesting about the dog…and it’s called President Pierce, named after the president who was an aggressive expansionist who forced many tribes in the PNW onto reservations.
❤ the channel. Y is this proto language pronunciation so difficult. And it's hypothetical, not historical, no written examples of it. Seems like there's a mystery there, idk. Something about the way it sounds just seems odd to me.
