The 845 will not make Your Veritas run well, I have already troubles with the 91dB efficient speaker. Your best goal would be the MP-501, but unfortunately Musical Paradise stopped building it. I know one for sale in Germany if You are interested. I would advise You to the tandem of MP-701 with the FM300A clone, You have great tube sound from the 701 pre and power from the power stage.

@@iam_mad Yes, you're advice from experience is appreciated. I would like to try MP 501. Do you know the price? I am in the USA. I have a Yamaha receiver now that I use, that I got in late 90's. Maybe I would plan to pair with an A/B amp instead of A. In the case of A/B what is a recommended unit?

You can use it straight from the DAC or the CD Player, top Sound!

@iam_mad thanks for your answer. Have you by any chance listened to the Chinese Gryphon Tabu Century clone? I am torn between the fm300a and Gryphon (mostly for classical music)

@@dariuszb2513 You cannot compare this NAD to the FM, it is Sanken driven, I dont like the Sanken Sound so much (NAIM) and it is too big build like the dartzeel, these cannot have the stage and light footed fine dynamics You find in the FM.

there where some changes to this device, so I don´t know Your version, best is to look up on google with Your installed tubes, which are the best substitutes. The russian tubes work very well, and You get them cheap.

Anthony, where did You buy it? Did You connect the speakers correct? If You bought it on Ali Express, open a return case, write the problem, make a picture of it (You need that too) then they give You a return label for the shipment.

Hello, i purchased on ebay, sorry it is OK now, i think it was cold out of the package, now it is working now and the sound is really great, just a reminder I have it connected to the My Musical Paradise mp-701 MK111 Preamplifier with Upgraded tubes and capacitors. 👍

@@anthony2010707 👌👍 best working with the 701 is the dip switches on 701 set to 1 and the volume levels of FM300A between 4 and 5.

Yes, absolutely, the classic ones are more expensive, but sound less precise...

In combination with the MP-701 I have the FM always between 4 and 5.

Solid Core is soundwise superiour, but unfortunately very tedious to make, since the wire has the isolation layer..

The NAIM has a very dry controlled Bass and slightly emphasized treble, while the FM300A is more melodical and tube like sounding, it is a question of taste. I don´t know this JBL, if it has relatively loose soft bass drivers that need control, You take the NAIM, if it has hard tight mounted old school drivers You better take a tube amp or the FM300A,

@@iam_mad That was a concert I didn't want to miss! I can't remember what I paid for a balcony seat. This was at the Palace Theater in Stamford, Connecticut. It was the second time I saw the Koyaanisqati movie. The first time was in NYC years earlier.

Naim pays the Chinese producing it less, but has to carry a chain of dealers, taxes, customs, etc. until it reaches Your shop. The thing in my video is sold from the factory straight.

@@iam_mad I assume that Naim built their gear in the UK. This would account for the high prices.

I once worked at a hi-end audio store. I saw the purchase invoices. The typical retail markup was 40%. So a good amount of profit for the store!

It depends a lot on Your speakers. If they are less efficient like lower than 88dB I recommend the Dartzheel Clone NHB108

Yes, except the bypass cap is now only one, but the one in the new sounds better. The rest is unchanged

Hum comes from Your house power, made by things like AC or router. There are cables to block ground from contact with the housing. I generally advice separation transformer, this is the cleanest way, my unit is the PeakTech 2240

The SA4 are tubes produced for BTB, Michael has his own supplier for these. TAD is having a similar product. As far as I know there is only China left with producing tubes, Russians are out of the market recently.

@@iam_mad I have both the SA4 and the Genalex and they are exactly the same, except for the rebranding. TAD tubes are also just hand selected and rebranded tubes. Btw I think 6SN7 is the best signal tube for the MP-701. At least in my set up.

Hi , I’ve same experience. After 4 days it died. On the pack there is special compartment with spare fuse. You can try to replaced. I did that and fuse keeps blowing. I tried about 5 fuses and cables, no luck. Did you resolve your issue? Thanks

@@maskapl hi wel i ordered via Alibaba and has big issue sending it back. I had to pay for that myself. Wel didnot do that. Send my fn300 to repair shop and they found transformer broken. Hmm so contacted the manufacturer. Made a deal they would send me new transformer and an other fm300 on a 100 euro discount. She was going to let the engeneers test the fm300 extra. Wel this was the best u could do. So paid them . Will have to hope this thing is better and let repair man add the new transformer . If all ok i have two fn300. I have a pre- amplifier from same manufacturer. That is a fantastic device. Amazing sound. I run it with a 20 dollar Chinese digital amp and it sounds better then an onkio amplifier.

Fuse broken then that big round thing was broken.

These will be not really good with the OC845. I would strongly recommend the combo of FM300A with the MP-701 as Pre amp, there You have power and the sound of a tube. Matches best with 12BH7 tubes or ECC99JJs

It is defenitely more the old fashioned Sound You would like, but it lacks a bit of deep Bass suppoert, when it comes to less efficient speakers. For efficient speakers its a very fine Amp.

I bought c-245 sound not as good as i hope . Just sound like wiim pro plus streamer not exclusive
