      Hey Isha, they bounced back from this very well considering how in depth the process ended up :D I wouldn’t go that far on a mature tree for sure. The needles were a little smaller than the previous years but candles extended well also. Last year i brought a mature Jwp that came my way. With limited space and a change of circumstances I gave one to my bother (which I styled a little recently) I sold one on and one regrettably I got creative, tried to shape further and snap very low down! Il do an update on my brothers soon!

      Cheers Alex, Iv not got specific or specialised tools for the job but the Dremel is a 3000 model. I find the sanding wheel most useful, but Iv got some cheap rotary burr tools which are pretty handy! One of those flexi extension for the Dremel or a drill would be useful to. It would be worth doing your research there maybe a better Dremel or tool. I used what iv got.

      Hi Adam, yes just a chopped Sphagnum moss I buy it cheap from a local nursery. I thinks it’s helped a lot with watering and retention on hot days, also encouraging new roots around the base. Some of my trees had a serve repot this year. I’m sure the moss aided there recovery somewhat!

    Jwp are single flush pines. They do not back bud.

    • @nillysbonsai9636
      @nillysbonsai9636 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Single flush is correct but that does not describe the trees ability to produce buds back from the growing tips. These are buds formed to break in spring next year. I’m happy to stand corrected but to my knowledge back budding can be achieved on almost any species of tree maturity may play a part in the difficulty in doing so. This can be achieved in Jwp By pinching/pruning candles and wiring out to allow light further in. And to add to the controversy mine has produce the odd sprig of second flush off growth this year after a heavy flowering in spring not the normal I know!

      @@nillysbonsai9636 I do not use what the pros use. I use lipstick. A natural wax women use on their lips. Works great for me. Now there are many colors out their and you can find one to match the color of the bark and then the wound will match the trunk. I use it on my roses also and the color lasts all winter long and into the spring. Just do not use the brush on. That does not work. Use the tube. Cheap and you can probably get it at a dollar tree store. My sister gets them for me at garage sales cheap.

    Put a pond in your garden/yard and it will be populated almost instantly. Within days, we had dragonflies andall sorts of birds that had never visited before. Tadpoles appeared after about a month or so. It was only a fibreglass affair bought from a tat auction and just required a hole to be dig and it placed in - no liners or anything fancy. A cheapo circulating pump and hey presto! You can probs get a solar powered pump nowadays so even less hassle. It absolutel brings your garden alive. Helps keep down pests. The toads ate all the slugs.

    • @nillysbonsai9636

      Spot on! And much the same I got the pond Liner chucked out from a bust landscape yard same place the trees for the hornbeam forest came from! It’s amazing what this little pond has brought into what is a tiny garden! Iv tried a solar powered pump. It was very hit and miss, If you got one with a little back up battery maybe it would be more reliable. I upgraded to a small plug in and made a hydroponic filter living wall at the back of the pond that’s made for an interesting feature with a purpose. It’s also nice enjoy the sound of water of your an evening!
