I understand your point of view and I find it relevant but you did not understand the end of the manga. The author does not try to give a moral, a bad or a good ending. He just tries to make us understand that the path against depression is long but doable. We are talking about Punpun who had suicidal thoughts throughout the manga. At the end of the manga Punpun is at peace with himself and tries to do his best. He does not have a great life but he moves forward and no longer tries to commit suicide. It is a realistic ending. The author does not make him rich or with 3 children and a beautiful wife. He just makes him at peace with himself with the will to move forward

"Living is more painful than dying" is perfect fitting for a story for Oyasumi Pun Pun. It's painful to keep living sometimes, but there are people who want you to keep living. That alone makes living worthwhile.

I think some video games could really benefit from this as well. There are some games that do it perfectly, some almost kill the moment.

PunPun deserves to be happy. Everyone does. He probably isn't by the end of the story. He might not be happy during the epilogue either. But at the least there's a future where he can be.

Yeah it's definitely underutilized and I think can add a lot of atmosphere to a scene. I also really enjoy it when you can hear just one thing, like footsteps or a cassette running but not hear the music. Evangelion is one that comes to mind

Imp, i actually like modern spongebob and classical spongebob. The animations actually gotten slightly better and stuff. Even though spongebob isnt as funny as it used to be, its still entertaining to watch because ive been watching this TV show ever since i was like 1-2. Im 13 now and i still watch it. This show is my childhood and it always will be. I respect your opinion, though.

The ending broke me. It was painful to see what Punpun turned into during the last chapters, not to mention Aiko's death, but the ending was being chased by his past in the most painful way possible.

The ending of Punpun living with all the shit he did and having to live with it, that imagine of Aiko hanging burned in his head forever is far more crushing and realistic than sacrificing himself

i don't read dark mangas.They could arouse deeper emotions in you but i can't talk bout them with friends or feel great after finishing them. It's always hard to justify doing something that makes you feel worse after.
