Great video man! Goku versus piccolo is my personal favorite fight in the original Dragon Ball. The 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai is my third favorite saga in the entire series.

Skipping Dragon Ball is like skipping the first part of Naruto. It makes 0 sense to start with Shippuden as well. When you start at Z, you've missed why Goku even cares about his friends, who his friends are, what their place is in the world, how the world is set-up, what the origins are of the Red Ribbon Army, who the hell Pilaf is, how Kami/Piccolo came to be, plus so much random lore like knowing Krillin already died before in DB or Tien being a villain first or why Goku adapts so quickly. A lot of people also don't seem to understand that the manga that Toriyama wrote and drew was Officially just ''DRAGON BALL'' he never put a Z in the title himself after the timeskip, when Gohan was born. He kept continuing writing his chapters of Dragon Ball while Toei/Shueisa promoted the post-timeskip part of the story as a new series.

People should stop skipping dragon ball and start skipping super instead

Kai goes much more faster than in the original series, Cause it follows the original Japanese script and it follows the manga without filler. It's almost like the current new version

Yeah honestly Spongebob is already dead at this point, i think some of the writers themselves are just being into some nasty ass fetish like it reminds of TTG and PPG 2016-17 episodes where the writers are just being sick weridos, infact Nickelodeon is just not even trying to save the show itself anymore there just ruining it and basically being disrespectful to the dead creator of the show itself. Seasons 9B-11 where actually better then those shitty old ass seasons especially the animation, it's actually better then the newer seasons where the Korean animators are just make it worse (I actually don't blame the animators, there pretty talented even though they need to stop making those goddamn nasty ass expressions) Also the show is not for kids anymore you doofus, infact I used to watch the show as kid before it went downhill.

I think this movie had a better wonder woman who actually feels remorse for her actions and ends up knowing she was wrong for defending Superman. Also the fact that it has a better good ending, this Superman actually ends up learning from his MISTAKES unlike Games Injustice Superman. I dont know about your thoughts, tho

My intro to the franchise was Dragon Ball GT Final Bout for the PS1 back in the late 90s. Shortly after, I started watching DBZ because it was airing on TV, but then in 2001 they started airing original Dragon Ball and I loved it. It felt like watching a prequel for DBZ and helped give me more context and appreciation for how things escalated in DBZ.

I'm only watching what i can find available cause i refuse to pay another subscription to get Crunchyroll lol I already finished Saiyan and Namek saga as a feature length film thank to s guy on YT I watched Battle of gods, Ressuracin F (sorry for the bad English) and DBS Broly I'm new to Dragon Ball so i got a long way to go But at least i finished watching the important parts.

I didn't know Dragonball existed for A LONG TIME until i was a teenager so recently I've been watching the original dragonball because i heard from people online that it has tournment arcs so good that they could be potentially better than the dark tournament arc from Yu yu hakusho which i have to see it to belive it but becides that it is cool to see the TRUE first appearances of characters like Bulma and Master Roshi and Goku i haven't seen the tournament arcs in Dragonball yet but i CAN'T WAIT TO GET TO THAT POINT

Gohan is my favorite character. He's not part of the original DragonBall series, you know, because he hadn't been born yet. That immediately makes it way less interesting for me. *shrug* I've tried going back and watching DragonBall, and I think I gave up in the first dozen episodes or something. Same thing when I watched the original series of Star Trek. I think there's nothing wrong with stepping away from something you don't enjoy. But I suspect there are a lot of people who just skip to DBZ, and never try the original series, which is a shame.

Dragon ball is great, but it’s hard to introduce it to a younger audience. Whereas Z isn’t because it significantly toned down those juvenile elements.

A few months ago I watched all canon db stuff for the first time and idk how people can skip og dragon ball it's so important to the world and characters

Dragon ball was my first anime I’ve ever watched and I watched it in order and couldn’t imagine watching it any other way. The original is by far my favorite because although its moments may not be as iconic they are to me and some of my favorites.

I agree, especially since a lot of people were introduced to the franchise through Z, they expect Dragon Ball to be this dark series about Goku and his friends going up against some big bad villains, when they don’t realize that it started out as a funny gag show.

DBZ's plot works because of the plot that came before.

I'm so glad that i watched Dragonball first before DBZ. I watched it back in 2010 when they randomly started DB reruns. At that point, it mostly forgot about the plot and only knew that there were Super Sayain transformations whatever that was. So I essentially went in blind and watched DB weekly. The best memory was when after the last timeskip happened and Bulma met this guy with a scarf on his head, I was also shocked thaz this was Goku :D

Okay, I'm not gonna act like the dragon ball z material is bad or uninteresting, or anything of the sort, but I just love the pre-Z material. I just enjoy it a lot more personally. I also feel like whoever skips the earlier parts of dragon ball is doing themselves a tremendous disservice due to Toriyama's writing style being one that builds off the previous material to create one long unbroken thread. Shoot, the first time I read dragon ball, i didn't realize just how much time had passed until the end of the Saiyan saga. And because of this, certain things like Goku's character and motivations and pivotal moments of his life aren't really referenced or brought up in Z. It's just a bad idea imo.

I read Dragon Ball after years of watching Z Kai, and I personally think OG DB is better than than the Z portion

I watched dragon ball in order and honestly the original dragon ball was amazing some of my favourite story arcs and fights

I agree with this video 80% but I advise people to NOT skip filler episodes of a series either. If you're watching a long running show you should watch every episode of it. It doesn't matter if it doesn't advance the plot people should be watching all of the story. You can't pick and choose to only watch episodes you want to watch. That's like reading a novel and skipping the "boring chapters" to get to the ending faster.

Having binge watched the original series again with a closer look. It's honestly my preferred series (yes i also binged z earlier in the year).

I feel like once hillenburg died and they no longer had his input, writers really began to struggle. Especially in season 13 and 14. Seems to be a common theme since season 4 and 5 gradually suffered this same problem.

Having just re-read Punpun, this ending seems so much more fitting for him. It’s cowardly. It’s vapid and unsatisfying. A lot like Punpun’s existence before reuniting with Aiko. He’s forced to live out the rest of his life with people who’ll constantly remind him of all of his life failures and the abuse he’s endured, in which he’s highly likely to go suffer more with no hope for Aiko to save him this time.
