Firefly "Telecaster" In-Depth Review! The New Era of Budget Guitars?
#guitar #review #firefly #telecaster #cheap #metal #seymourduncan #affordable #tone #guitarist #highgain #recording #gear
After having decent luck with my first Firefly "Les Paul" style guitar, I decided to grab one of their Telecaster styles. These cheaper guitars seem to be a dice roll, but more and more they are competing with and in some way outshining more expensive brands.

    Sorry for leaving a second comment but I looked down in your information and you're using ML drummer do you have a tutorial on that or do you think you could possibly make one I was looking into getting that but I'm not too good with DAWs I have reaper and I can run all my ML plugins I own almost every ML guitar amps in plug in standalone thing they make and I love them! I printed the whole 500 page manual for reaper and it's over my head for a lot of it but I would love to see a nice tutorial on how to assemble some beats on the ML drummer! I have the amplitube drum system and all the sound packs you have to download that thing is a mess and I don't have any MIDI controller to set it up right and it looks hard to use. On the other hand Mikko has been amazing, ML sound labs is doing great work and I have emailed Mikko several times and he gets back with you so quick I love his videos I'd like it nice tutorial on how to set up and have a drum beat made in a simple layman's terms!

    Thank you for this video I just put the fishman open core modern in my seven string the red colored one I bought an ESP LTD M7 the Arctic White and it came with an EMG 81 TW it sounded muddy as can be no matter what I played through, so I started playing it with nothing attached just playing the guitar unplugged and it was super bright so I knew it wasn't the guitar. I wanted an alnico 5 magnet, after research I settled on voice 1 on the fishman open core modern and it brought that guitar to life it is amazing! I love that pickup! This video interests me because I have a major issue, with my charvel Sean Long San dimas style 1. I don't know who that guy is but the fact that came with all graphite black tusk hardware locking tuners and the color scheme is sweet with the yellow EMG 57 and the black 66, yellow charvel water slide. But the 57 is so noisy I had them send me a new Guitar, this second guitar came from Canada whereas the first one came from Mexico and both were in the box. I had the same issue. I found out that EMG had some circuit board issues in 2020. a change was made so I was told to buy a used 57/66 set but I can't, because I need a yellow one pre 2020. Either way the invader interests me so I thank you for this comparison! I need the noise gone but want the tone and attack of the 57! This is great comparing that awesome fishing pick up to the invader this really helped me and also you are using a Mexican charvel! Thank you very much!

      I had a Sean long model too. I like the 57s but they are noisy a bit. They seem to be susceptible to EMI noise. I suspect it is the pole pieces being open. The het set has a similar noise issue, but not as bad to me.

    Mmm... not a guitar for me. I like Telecaster style guitars, but I don't want to invest a lot of work to make a unperfect guitar a bit better... I have to try a guitar and if this guitar makes me happy, it's the right guitar for me. I really like to customize guitars, but it must be very good right from the beginning. I try to buy used guitars, they are much cheaper than the new ones. I don't care if a guitar has some scratches, it gives the guitar personality and it's a part of its history. There are a lot of cheaper guitars on the market, and some are in a very good quality. I was surprised of the good quality of a Sire Larry Carlton T7... or of some used Schecter...

      @BaritoneGoatStudio 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@robertdonosobuchner3129 if it weren’t for the pickups on this, it would have been nearly perfect out of the box. At least as good as many others I have invested in. At $179 I can’t really consider too many others, even used that would beat it. I am impressed mostly with the frets and neck on this. Stainless steel frets and roasted maple alone were intriguing enough options, but I had low expectations about their potential quality. I am curious how long they can keep a guitar like this under $200? I don’t expect very long.

      @@msi1985 I know voice 1 on the TH bridge is ripped from the voice 2 on the classics. And the voice 1 on the TH neck sounds alot like voice 2 on the classics as well. I don’t particularly care for the second voice on the TH bridge. I would rather have the PAF voice from the classics instead. Ideally I would pair the TH neck with the open core classic bridge, just to have the “piezo” style voice as an option. The Scott LePage pickups are just the Open Core Classics with gold pole pieces. I would opt for those over these.

    Where did you buy that one? I got the 338 from Guitar Garden, but I did not see that one. Also, how is the neck? • @BaritoneGoatStudio
      @BaritoneGoatStudio 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@extremesecrecy I got it from guitars garden as well. They don’t always have the same designs all the time. They seem to do batches. The neck is thicker like a 50s less Paul. Feels similar to a Gibson, but the finish is poly instead of nitro so it won’t soften over time. The one I got here still has nickel frets, but they (firefly) are starting to put stainless steel on their newer ones. Gibson still uses nickel, but they also pleck all their guitars. If you like the Gibson, it is hard to fully compare these 1:1, but I would grab one of these over most Epiphones I have played recently.

      @@maddoxmay611 stock speakers do seem to be tailored to the amp. Not sure what the cab is, but to my ears they seem closer to a greenback. I would also be curious what the resolution on their IRs are. The MLs have a very forward sound to them, but the SM57 IRs on the V30 are missing some of the top end sizzle. You’re over complicating what’s going on. The rotary switch is charging the value of the input cap. So it progressively rolls off low end. Thats all. That gives you less drive into the circuit. It’s not “desaturating” it’s just now your guitar single isn’t as loud. Increase the gain to compensate.

    • @BaritoneGoatStudio
      @BaritoneGoatStudio 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Since this video I have started getting more into circuitry and this was one of the first pedals I opened up and pulled apart. Individual capacitors for each setting on the rotary makes a lot of sense and the drop off in gain makes sense as a result. The gain on this pedal isn’t my favorite and doesn’t sound anything like any of the TS pedals I have used even though it utilizes a symmetrical soft clipping diode circuit. I am sure if I compare them one to one I could find the difference between them that might be the difference in the feel of each gain circuit. 🤷🏻‍♂️
