Dude your Channel is amazing. I’m glad the algorithm is working 😁. Thanks for making this video. Very informative and helpful. I appreciate you for going into everything at the appropriate depth.
@@juandrayo thanks man! This one is touchy! People really don’t like subscription services and not owning something outright, but I can see where software companies might have to consider it for longevity. I like the Amphub stuff so far and each month you get new stuff, which is pretty cool. But the NDSP standalone amps are still slightly more refined to my ear.
I personally think it's worth it. Especially because real amps cost a huge amount of money to which I just can't justify doing for me to sit in my music room where nobody but myself is gonna hear it.
@@tyrannosaurusriffs me too really, never even considers a subscription until I tried this. If the updates are good and consistent, I may hold on to it.
I've been using Amphub for a few months now and it's been my go to. I even have some Neural DSP plugins and I still go to the Amphub for the most part., especially recently with the Revv and Diezel amp additions. I also have the IK Multimedia stuff, but that company's left a weird vibe to me. Their installation process used to be the jankiest thing ever and there's not and, comparing Amplitube and Amphub back to back (same amps, same IR used), the Amphub seems to sound better overall.
It has so many options and some of my favorite tones are from amps that other companies don’t really do models of. So far I am still locked in on the $10/month price, and it is nice to just have it all. It is definitely a competitive product even with a subscription model.
@@BaritoneGoatStudio Yeah, exactly. Being a few months in, I have a few things I'd like to see added (ie. better compression options and it would be nice if they allowed all the pedals to be either before or after the amp even if it doesn't make sense) but I also love what they have added since. That being said, such desires can, and have been, alleviated by having the Amphub in the DAW.
So i had tonehub, my dumbself decided to update and now its asking for a license. I tried to take the access code from my ILOK and it doesnt take it ( even though i bought it outright years bacck) its no longer taking the code> is there a way to download a previous version or revert back or is there a way around this
@@takesteadyaim88 they just switched from ilok to their own verification system. I have yet to make the switch with my Tonality Josh Middleton plug-in yet. Otherwise, reach out to their customer support.
You could run two instances of Amphub in the daw to mix tones. Within Amphub there is one amp slot and the cab section has two IR slots. But you can run one DI signal through two instances of the plug-in on aux tracks or busses. Or do a right and left mix.
@@resington no, you can still pay for it outright to get the Amp Hub lite and individually grab models. It would be crazy to only have a subscription available given how against it many are. They definitely make it seem like the lesser option on the site, and for $10 a month, the access and features don’t feel overpriced at all. I just wonder if more companies will follow suit as their amp catalogs grow. Developing plug-ins seems costly enough, and without a guarantee of success with any individual release, those who might pay monthly for access to stuff already developed could fund new products ahead of time. I would pay for a neural DSP subscription probably 😂 although they might not be able to keep it at $10 a month.
@@BaritoneGoatStudio it's a great price and plugin. Did a video on it when it was pretty thin on the ground with options. Now it seems to be very well rounded. You can still buy each amp individually as well so there’s an option for whatever works for you. I bought a few STL amps as I don’t see my self using more than a couple so the subscription seemed like a waste
@@joshrexben that is definitely what I had initially been wrestling with. Too many things I might not use. But the cab selection as well is super loaded. @@BaritoneGoatStudio oh nice I might need to check it out just for the IRs. You got some nasty tones (in a good way) that is moving me in that direction. I should also add that as an IT dude I’m not really against the subscription model as it has its benefits for sure but like you mentioned, I feel like I’ll spend a lot of time messing with everything just to go back to the tried and true that I’ll use consistently lol
