OMG! Dorethia is my Gurrrl! Your Europe video caught my eye after watching another vlog about a new Bali expat, then I saw your vlog about your bad experience in Bali…now I’m here watching this one…and I was totally shocked!!!❤️ Love the vlog, great experiences.☺️
What a horrible entitled attitude.
Man is a higher animal who has evolved and improved but modern man still practices slavery in modern forms despite the influence of education and exposure.
Man's inhumanity to man. Man is selfish, always seeking his own advantage.
Just by the way ur talk your ignorant & uneducated! Lmao
U have a Attitude like all the black people in usa!
São Jorge da Mina Castle it's the real name of this Evil monument built by the Portuguese in 1482. The Portuguese did built many other castles ( Fortress) along the west Africa coast, but this Castle was the Biggest and most Important place for the most Evil " business" created by man. From the estimated 12 Million poor African Slaves kidnapped from their lands to serve as Slaves on the New world colonies, 8 Million were sent to the Portuguese colony of Brazil. This monument is a Testament how Evil and Cruel human beings can be to other human beings. When visiting this "Gate to Hell" monument you can feel a very sad and earie "Presence", where Millions lost all Hope and became the Devil Slaves. This monument has the same importance in History as Auschwitz. Both represent how Evil we can be,and should be a reminder as "Never Again".
Disobedience to the laws and satutes (holidays) of the most high he told us that we will go into stavery and worship other gods (religion) until he returns
Before I was a third of the way through the video it was apparent that you are the problem. I stopped watching because even I was becoming affected by your negativity. I travel worldwide and I enjoy taking photos with whomever asks. I take it as a compliment. I have made many friends throughout the world with whom I stay in contact. People who are offended by positive attention should stay home.
👏👏👏 I stopped watching too
You wanted to meet people is what you said but when people tried to find an opening to interact with you (via hey can we take a picture 😊) it seemed you weren't open. If you arent a friendly person (which is very much ok) traveling to places where you are isolated maybe best for you. Best wishes on your next traveling journey.
Your energy is negative bye.
Ha, ha! I feel you.
thank you, your video is so important for those who never been exposed to our true history
Just it make it clear and evident to your audience. Quite often when we hear slavery people only think about AFRICANS and Black people. The word "SLAVE" originated from White Eastern & southern European peoples named the "SLAVS". White Europeans people and Arabs of all types, Germans British English, Anglo-Saxons Irish French Celts Latins, Greek, Spartans Hellots were slaves long before Africans. Even though whites claim to be superior and racist because had black slaves, they were the original barbarian slaves and sold each other into slavery thousands of years before any Black african enslavement. The Arabs had white Roman, Greek & Persian Jewish slaves before any Africans. The Whites also had Arabs slaves before any African as well from their many constant religious crusade wars and conquest.
I stopped the video after a couple minutes…. It was you.
My thoughts, exactly! I didn't watch the entire video. It was oozing negativity.
There to shoot content instead of enjoying the place you are. First mistake. Gotta leave that westerner mindset in America.
I had a good and bad experience. I just hate the unwanted photos from other foreigners. At one point I was swimming in a pool and so many Chinese people surrounded me taking pictures and making poses as I was a prop next to them.
Thank you for sharing, here now.
What destinations would you pair with Bali for a 3 week itinerary?
It is important that in these matters, we as black people must not be sentimental. I propose that there is a requirement for us, and especially us alone if we are to grow, is to destroy this and other castles along the west African coast. No one, asks, both us and them, why there isn't a single slave ship in Europe or the Americans? The answer is that they destroyed all of them. Does anyone cry over that? OR ARE WE MENTALLY ENSLAVED STILL. We have to challenge ourselves and take charge of ourselves at some point.
It's officially 2025 and them tourist including Bali have seen Black people before. They treated you like you were a freak show instead of respecting you as a tourist and respecting your boundaries. All those little annoyances add up. Now could you have smiled through it? Yes. You just wasn't feeling the place and that's okay. Maybe you'll circle back at some point and have a better experience.
Hai sister, it was you who has negative inside, be careful cuz bali is a such place which would enhance and amplify whats already inside you. Next time you visit Bali again you need to empty the you inside you then you will get fill with all new energy
Loved it and loved your questions. So hospitable to offer stay for you and mom. We Americans have lots to learn.
Well you can’t say Bali is bad; your tour is bad. You just had a bad day and you turned it into a bad trip with your energy. Choose bad moments not bad days.
😢😢😢 I wont to visit , but my heart is so heavy …
Eeee you got a bad driver! Or a new one cause it sounds like he knows what hes doing. That totally sucks 😢 I'm here now and have been having the time of my life! I've had one guy try to tell me a sob story about how his family couldn't eat because i didn't let him take me around that day. I blocked so quick 😂 Sounds like a real shit time 😢
Would love to know what your source of income is to support you abroad 😊
That would have been like $50-60USD sheeesh! I’m here because i’ve been leaning heavy on starting my journey in other countriess.
Hi if you don’t mind me asking how much does a trip like cost, my cousin and I are thinking about doing a trip like this?
Yeah that’s high rent . But you can look for other cheaper places while you live there
I can’t wait to visit . I need that gym 3 days a week . And they have fruit smoothies & good coffee. .
That’s what I need .
At least you have a choice of eating fruit & veg which cost too much in usa
Ubers definitely make the pricing a lot more 'foreigner' friendly.
Love the roundup! Hi from Ghana 🇬🇭
Detroit is so beautiful. I have been hooked to your channel since you vloged in Nairobi. Your understanding of our history at the museum was spot on. Keep producing great content!
I was trying to watch this video because I plan to visit Bali but the audio went low and it's was not fun watching.
I watched your video and appreciate you sharing your perspective. Traveling in a different country can challenge our expectations, especially when things don’t go as planned. Life doesn’t always go as expected, and sometimes these moments teach us the most about ourselves and the world. As for feeling targeted, that must be difficult, but I hope you’ll keep an open mind. Indonesia has such a rich and welcoming culture, and I hope you get to experience more of the positive aspects during your journey.
thanks for sharing this video
Hi! thanks for the video! How much does the ticket from the central station to bansko cost?
Its your attitude sis!
😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
People from America have a very distorted mindset
Thank you for sharing your insightful opinion.
💛💚💛Thank you. One of the things I enjoyed was learning about the culture, lifestyle, wellness, food, & areas to live in Chiang Mai.
am a Kenyan living in Germany but great step
Thanks for watching
This video would make more sense if you changed the title. It’s about your personal negative experience in Bali which was possibly due to your expectations. Nothing you said relates to Bali being bad for black travellers. You seem to be a glass half empty instead of half full person.
Now yall african americans? Yall denied yall african ancestry saying yall were indigenious remember? Yall were calling us african bushboogies, saying africa was poor and dirty remember? We didnt forget. Yall should be banned from Africa
Young Lady. I couldn't even finish the video. Your attitude and energy was off putting. You sound angry and combative. Stay home until you can clear up some of your trauma. You are making the most horrible memories for yourself. Life is short.
This is truly heartbreaking.
Very much so🥹
A lot of foreigners like to engage with black people in other countries out of curiosity and wanting to befriend. I think maybe you don't understand that, which is strange seeing how you travel solo so much. It's quite sad actually your reaction and commentary on the situation. I lived in Okinawa, Japan for 6 years and people wanted to take pics with me all the time, which I did. I can understand a bad day, but your demeanour seems ill placed.
It’s quite sad that you lack comprehension skills in my explanation of what happened AND comparing it to all of my travel experiences. If I tell a person I don’t want to be filmed or take pictures in a friendly they need to respect that and not do it anyway.
While it’s true that some foreigners might engage with people from different backgrounds out of curiosity, that doesn’t mean everyone interprets such interactions the same way. Solo travelers, like myself, often encounter situations where attention can feel intrusive or uncomfortable, regardless of intent. Your positive experiences are valid, but they don’t negate the fact that not everyone feels the same way in similar circumstances. We should acknowledge that people’s boundaries, comfort levels, and reactions vary-especially in unfamiliar environments. It’s not about misunderstanding the situation or having a “bad day,” but rather recognizing that interactions, even when seemingly friendly, can sometimes feel overwhelming or objectifying. Just because someone reacts differently doesn’t mean their feelings are invalid. What might be a harmless curiosity to some could feel like unwanted attention to others. It’s important to respect different perspectives and reactions to such encounters without labeling them as “sad” or “ill-placed.”
Both you guys are right, but privacy trumps curiosity.
It's just a difference in global and cultural differences. Most unintended
I agree very ignorant sounding video
For those you so-called African-Americans that don’t know where you’re coming from if you believe in the Bible read Deuteronomy chapter 28 and 68. You are the Israelites Gods chosen people from the tribe of Judah and your homeland is Israel.
thank you so much for enlightening us with your positive energy.
The place looks decent to me. I don’t know what you were expecting for $35 but it sounds like it was an over estimation in your mind. Just because the walls are scuffed doesn’t mean that it’s dirty. There are five star hotels with fresh paint that couldn’t pass the black light test for stains on sheets and everything else. Germs are germs and they are everywhere. Getting a key card from the Hilton versus this hotel would be no different. It’s still exchanged hands with hundreds of people therefore surely being exposed to millions of germs. Did you get sick? Did you die?
Lol, I literally explain what I was expecting compared to another part of Bali I l just left. Thanks for watching and actively listening!
It seems like you have a very negative attitude and spirit. No wonder you didn’t enjoy your time in Bali. That’s unfortunate because I’ve heard nothing but beautiful and positive experiences coming out of many people from many people of color, especially women. Maybe you’ll have Better luck next time for you.
