You Don't Want Precise Splitters in Satisfactory
มุมมอง 58K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
One of the oldest requests for Satisfactory is a precise splitter or a ratio splitter. But in this video, I'm going to tell you that we don't need those, and that we can already solve all of our problems with the tools in the game. Follow me on twitter: x.com/SatisfactoryCN

Zombies 😂 and new guns
I've only been playing for a couple months, and I've been playing with somebody else who also has played much longer, so I got a lot of tips, but this rounded out the basics so I wasn't missing anything that could have made me more productive!
i wish my wife would play this me!
I’d like to see a completely flat map, so you could do whatever you want without limitations if things like mountains
Then how to fix the manifold common issue as it splitting uncommenly causing drops in last constructors?
Unfortunatly, i have been building for a hundred hours in the "lets game it out" mega factory way, my frames are nonexistant
having boats and off shore oil rigs would be sweet no matter the cost
Honestly the best way … just a fast conveyor and a splitter per machine … none of this pyramid rubbish takes up way too much space.
It seems like you really didn't take into account large and complex factories into account. "But you can just wait for it to fill up all of the machines". That really doesnt work as well when you've got 6 consecutive parts all at 2 or even lower per minute. You'd be waiting for almost an entire playthrough just to have your factory running. And one single mistake further down the line will set you back to zero. You can definitely argue that ratio splitters and precise splitters shouldn't be added to the vanilla game, but arguing that they aren't a problem solver is a bit short sighted in ny opinion.
The Hub is super under utilized. People plop it down and it lives there forever. If you bring it exploring with you, you can build it up on cliffs and respawn inside it to get high up quickly to get a sphere or sloop. Then just parachute down or over to the next cliff. If you die you will respawn in your starter biome which is probably where your base is or where you'd want to return to after exploring anyway. Obviously this is with Keep Everything on death setting.
That's a really good point! A very silly thing to do but very effective.
@@SatisfactoryNews It's a speed runner tactic.
Sorry, but with over 2k hours in this game, load balancing is ultimately superior to manifolds when it comes to efficency of material processing. The cost of materials is nothing when you have established factories, and space is only a concern if you haven't learned to build vertically.
There are very few situations where load balancing is required. On thise situations, it's critical. But for a setup of foundries or something? Manifold is going to get it done every time.
I was hoping these were like portal storage crates. Learning they just hook up to your inventory was kinda disappointing.
Yeah teleporting materials instantly across the map would be pretty strong. This solved the pain point of running out of materials while you're out exploring or building. But you still have to do logistics, as that's more of the point of the game and not a pain point.
2:35 I know I can trust him, cause bros got OSRS open on his monitor 😂 thats COMMITMENT. Love this game so much, Satisfactory hits almost every box I like. I highly suggest revisiting the game now that we have the full 1.0 release, and its on steam now, so the exclusive deal is over
First off, fantastic video. I just helped a friend unlock their Depot so I will definitely be sending this to them. Ironically, a few patches ago, CS released one that actually had a strange side effect of respawning all the previously collected mercer spheres in the world, just without the stone cage they have by default. So yeah, if you didnt know, have a world started at 1.0’s drop, and have not noticed the collected spheres reappeared, go and check. Tldr: some lucky 1.0 worlds will have more total mercer spheres in them than pretty much any others due to an odd side effect from a patch. Bear in mind that this was fixed in subsequent patches and if you saved in the affected patch, the damage would be pretty much irreversible.
OK…so what you argue is great…until I moved products by truck or train to a second factory that I want to get items at a particular rate…like especially when using a sushi belt. You can use buffers, sure, but you may need that item in multiple disparate places. Soooo…I could use a bit more precision in some of my setups. Especially for small numbers of things…like electronic components.
What the heck is blueprint snapping mode? and how does that differ from normal snapping? (~2 minute mark)
Blueprint snapping mode allows you to connect blueprints together easier. By default, normal snapping with blueprints can be difficult to use and line up things properly, especially with very large blueprints. Press R to change build mode when you have the blueprint hologram up.
@SatisfactoryNews 😲😲😲
A load of these would be bether as an update rather tha a dlc
Agreed! More content would be lovely!
Build 2 biomass burners, overclock to make 100mw, stock with fuel make blue print and you can now use your hover pack wuickly while exsploring, very handy when dealing with megafauna
Nice and clean? let me introduce you to my distribution level. The very definition of organised chaos personified.
Bit late to the party on this one, but when I first heard "precise splitters" I kinda just pictured something like a regular smart splitter, just with an output you can set to a priority value -- let's say 24/min -- and then an "overflow" line (or if there's two "overflow" outputs then split them evenly like regular splitter outputs). Then, if you have an input of 30/min, you'll get your 24/min belt and a 6/min overflow belt. And of course you can add more input to increase the overflow line, or if you wind up decreasing the input below 24 then 100% of the input will still go to the priority line. After having read some of the comments though, I do also agree with the idea of a ratio splitter. Either way, I really don't think it takes away from the idea of "do the math," it just leads to less annoying situations that REQUIRE either more machines to underclock/overclock, which isn't "fun" or "do the math," it's just annoying; same with the idea of having 20 splitters to get the right number, multiplied by the number of times I need that number in different areas. Realistically, yes, it doesn't come up often, and ultimately it's not a huge deal, most recipes usually have a nice ratio where just adding more input can keep the numbers clean. But it's weird to see so many quality of life things get dismissed in this community just cause the masochists want to keep things needlessly complex. I'm convinced if the game didn't already have the smart/programmable splitter then the community would be opposed to it being added simply on the basis of "just add more belts and keep the items separate" or "do the math and figure out the overflow yourself"
What abt the tall blue creature
That's a new one! Appears to just be a small version of the bean, in its behavior.
Best explanation I’ve seen so far
It's like when building a pc: the only cable management you need is hiding all the mess at the back where no one looks
Manifold star-up time can be sped up by feeding the manifold from the middle instead of from the end. This way the two factories either side of the central splitter fill up first, then the factories next to those and so on, filling up in pairs.
I hard disagree with stack size being more important than upload speed. It really boils down to if you use it for building or for stashing items from your inventory. If using it for stashing items from your inventory, I agree. But for building mass production, having upload speed to keep up with your building is way better. Once you use up your stack size, you're done until it refills. If your one stack runs out quickly, it is refilled just as fast as you used it, essentially making your stack size infinite
Im so glad im red-green colorblind 😐
Nonsense
You can praise the existing map as much as you like, but a new map is the single most likely way to get people to purchase DLC. It doesn't have to be the FIRST DLC, but it should be something they create. Dismissing this idea is insane.
I agree that it would be the best to get people to purchase. I don't see it happening though. At least for the first DLC. But I was only talking about the first DLC in this video, I could see them doing a second map later in the future, possibly. Still feels like a lot of work though, almost like a whole other game if the scale is the same.
Balancers.
Isn't Satisfactory fake and scripted entertainment? They script who's gonna win and decide who the champion is
Did I just find a bot account in the wild or am I missing a joke here?
I wanna play but my laptop is so cooked
We need a warfare dlc so we can use the weapons we mass produce
I love building things like skyscrapers, so I sort of naturally opted for the vertical megafactory. It's been ... challenging ... but really satisfying, imo. Most of the floors are 3 walls high, and I am up to 16 so far. I've had to build stuff like a hypertube elevator (individual floors plus 5-floor expresses), and the requisite power requirements. ^^; More glass than you can shake a stick at, some signs for glowing lines, that sort of thing. I do have some satellite factories for things like power, because using towers to transmit power over long distances is super easy now. I even have a billboard out front taunting ADA about FICSMAS, lol. I ought to make a video some time...
It's about 700 power storage units until I can go AFK without worrying.
Power storage is great for spiky consumption and/or spiky production of power. Just remember that each power storage has a max charging speed of 100mw, so add enough to store all potentoal power production
Holodeck dlc, places you on a randomized generative world where there are more nodes(maybe even new elements and items) that you could harvest, with the catch being that you can only transport them out through the dimensional depot
A new map is too much work, but a new underwater map with new mechanisms as well as a new map, is a good idea?
The map was hand-built by one person. I imagine new mechanics would have multiple people working on it, although I don't fully know how the team is structured. I imagine an underwater map would be more like the caves, where it's a series of small areas rather than one massive area.
This strategy helped my factory look neat n tidy. I have 2 logistics layers and 2 storage layers which is semi logistics layers too. In the middle i have all assemblers and right on top is Manufacturers and blenders. (This is my main factory plant)
More control over power, electric switches for fluid control, relays, logic gates, etc.
Hydro power, mid game like geothermic.
Please can you cover unloading items from the dimensional depot
All you have to do is drag them into your inventory or just build and it will take items from the depot if you don't have any in your inventory. You cannot use belts to remove items, as this is item storage rather than item teleportation.
What about gold and silver ores instead of caterium? Caterium in game is alloy of gold and silver, so we can: -do caterium from them OR -use them separately. Not always only silver or only gold in recipe. Sometimes both, but not caterium. I think it's good variety thing that coffe stain can made a way better then i described. (my english is not perfect, sorry)
I don't think I would be terribly interested, but there are a lot of people that want tower defense. This might be perfect for DLC as it would only apply to those that wanted the feature and wouldn't interrupt the core gameplay for everyone else.
I don't really want Underwater, rather on top of Water stuff. I want boats and ships that introduce new loading and unloading buildings, new kinds of resource nodes that require different kinds of extractors and provide unique resources. I would love deep water miners that require a ton of vertical space to get new materials like Lithium and Cobalt (maybe new Power Storage and Renewable energy with them) and Maybe weird ways to get old resources. Like a node that pulls up a dirty Silica that can be made into regular Silica and/or Limestone. Offshore Oil Rigs to get fluids stuff like that.
I think that's the best balance. I don't really care for an underwater map or anything, but boats and offshore rig miners would add some fun elements.
U got a regular video of this?, the portrait mode looks stupid
Yes, these clips are taken from a full video: th-cam.com/video/oPsb7OFp1gg/w-d-xo.html
@@SatisfactoryNews ah ok, noice
I mean, I'm kind of sick of the current map. And there have been problems with it that have existed as long as the map has existed (glitched areas, gaps that are clearly unclipped textures, not intentional holes) that have never been fixed despite numerous reports. I used to make maps for various 3D games (Half Life/mods, Half Life 2/mods, etc) and while it is a lot of work, it's not THAT much work, and honestly I haven't seen any major updates to the map since its original release. Sure, they've added a few new nodes for various resources, but all the map glitches have remained untouched. I can't imagine the map designer has been putting in a lot of time on the map design over the last four years based on the very small and marginal changes I've seen. It seems like most of their work was done before the game hit early access, and since then they've been kind of coasting along without doing much work. I think they are almost obligated to do some hard work again at this point.
Honestly (and you guys won't like this), based on the comments in the video, the mapper sounds a bit lazy to me.
I should just make my own map mod. Is modding supported by the game currently? (goes to google)
I'm not sure if you've been paying attention then.. Coffee Stain has been pretty transparent about the map changes and progress over the years. And just last year I think, the entire Spire Coast region was added, where it didn't exist in any capacity before that. That alone is a crazy biome, so I don't think it's fair to say the map is unchanged or the map maker is lazy.
I thinked about an underdround biom wher i can found ewery thing. For play like a real miner
Chemical soup and a refinery to make fertilizer or or compost to make biomass farms instead of power shards There for a biomass farm has a 2 fluid intakes water and Chemical and 2 item lanes in and out creating a base 90 with fertilizer makes it grow faster and compost make it grow more
I rate your rates as nuclear waste
thanks yep pickup up a few tips world grid and build mode auto. However I was keeping my entire inventory when I would do a respawn. I can't remember the setting to keep inventory?
I believe it's somewhere in gameplay settings.
@@SatisfactoryNews I found it! Thanks. "equipment inventory"
