Zipline sprint was in the game, yes, but you couldn't really take full advantage of it until Update 8 when the longer power lines from Power Towers and being able to cross ceiling poles was added.
I haven't played Satisfactory for over 2 years but want to have another go at it. Would this experimental update be stable enough to start playing on it or would it be recommended to stick with update 7 until the official release of 8?
Experimental is by definition, a bit unstable. I would say start a new game on the Early Access branch (Update 7) for now. However checking out Update 8 to see the new lighting effects, map changes, and alternate game modes could be fun, I just wouldn't suggest starting a new game with it. Maybe if you have an auto save that goes every 5 minutes!
The option to keep inventory on death will get me playing again. The amount of times I died and my corpse vanished through the map meaning all the HDDs were lost caused me to stop playing. (Multiplayer game so couldn't use a save editor)
@agrafkaagrafka1542 I regret posting lol, I have no issues with recovering gear, just the early access bug of corpses randomly falling through the terrain never to be seen again. 99.9% of the time its an inconvenience, but that 0.1% its a HDD that means 1 less unlock on your world.
1:20 how do you make a curve like that, so large??? there are no foundations or anything that let yo do that i know it because ive been hours trying to make it and its impossible
Hard to explain. I had to watch some tutorials on youtube on how to make curved roads. But basically it involves using walkways and rotating them in order to make a curve, then putting foundations in. It's difficult and a little tedious, but it looks amazing if done right. Look it up! You can still play on the Early Access branch to play Update 7 which is on UE4 still. But once it switches over to Update 8 you will not be able to do that. There are other things you can try like switching the renderer (Dx12, Dx11, etc). I also found big improvements when choosing to use TAA or FXAA for the anti-aliasing.
Lumen looks awesome. But I hope they add FSR2 and / or DLSS2, because TSR looks just horrible. Should also be rather easy since there are Unreal plugins for it. I haven't noticed any big issues except Constructor animation being reduced significantly when only a few meters away.

Yeah, a lot of people have posted about that on the QA site. We all hope it's a bug. Because that was really convenient. It is likely due to how Unreal Engine 5 handles physics, and now the game doesn't think we can fit under the belts.
i wish i knew about the loading system before i updated. i didn't backup my world, but i would have to redownload update 7 anyways because for some reason it deleted it when i downloaded update 8. i cannot even use hypertube cannons anymore, i have to break the support at the end otherwise i would get stuck in it. they're super unreliable now anyways, sometimes launching you 10x as far, sometimes barely launching you at all. thats mainly because when you launch into a new "chunk" of the world, you just get shot upwards really high (if using jetpack). and it also freezes while flying quickly, so you can barely control because of how choppy it is.

No, the game runs worse, or the same. It's hard to make a judgment since it's Experimental and that always runs poorly compared to Early Access. You could try again just to see, but I wouldn't recommend trying Update 8 Experimental if your computer struggled before.
Automation of vehicles was not touched only when manually driven. I believe certain foundations caused bumpy rides. Things like that were fixed! In their most recently uploaded video on Coffee Stain Stuido TH-cam

Add more launchers in front of the tube. You can go fast enough to get killed on landing, as you exit the tube! It can shoot you clear across the whole map, if desired!
Hmm, I'm not actually sure what a good cutoff would be. And it depends on your settings of course. I have an RTX 3070 and I can pretty easily get between 60-80 FPS on medium settings, global Illumination on high, and TSR on balanced, at 1440p. Changing to 1080p yields very similar results, but a bit more consistent FPS. These are the settings I opted for to get the best experience. If I change that to ultra settings I get around 50 FPS. So honestly something around an RTX 3070 feels like the minimum to really get the best experience with the new lighting and still have a playable game.
@@SatisfactoryNews Ok that doesn't sound so bad. I heard people saying the new stuff is brutal on performance, and another Satisfactory creator has a 4090 so I was expecting it to be much worse. Thanks for all the details, this helps me with my new PC build.

the pylons look a great addition. and I've nevwr had power issues, maybe it's dumb but i just way overdo my production vs consumption. and run everything off the same huge grid haha
So, any news on when Update 8 goes live on the actual early access mode? I understand it’s already on experimental but I’m curious when it’ll be stable enough to start a new world on it
You will probably lose some performance. Obviously with Lumen and all the fancy stuff on, the frame rate goes way down. Playing without those things on will have less of an impact but I think you can expect slightly worse performance. But, you won't know for sure until you try, and CSS will likely make some optimizations between now and the stable release of Update 8.
@@SatisfactoryNews Well, eventually I tried experimental on the device, I had to change the proton layer in the launch options though as the game didn't lauch. At first it seemed a bit off with barely reaching 30 FPS, I forgot everything was on ultra preset, changed to medium and then turned TSR on set to quality, with that I experinced a stable 40 FPS. Of course lumen and other fancy stuff turned off.
Nuclear Waste can be processed into Plutonium Fuel Rods. Plutonium Fuel Rods would create Plutonium Waste if burned as fuel, however you can put the Fuel Rods straight into the Awesome Sink. You can also use them as vehicle fuel - they last a very long time but the vehicles will have a cloud of radioactivity around them. So yes, there is a way to get rid of waste, but it's very endgame. Setting up Plutonium is no joke.
Anyone know why the texture quality of literally everything is really bad even though I have it set to ultra. (This only started once I tried update 8)
Excuse me Sir: I'm reading all the time nudging and nudge feature, but I have no clue what that is. My translator doesn't display something that would fit. So ... What is it? Could you describe it - would be much appreciated!
My favorite feature to update 8 is game modes. I've never understood how to play satisfactory correctly, and I am excited to both learn how to actually play the game like a pro and experiment with some things.
I hope they add item sorting to truck stations and train stations, as currently having your trucks transport different kinds of items results in a maze of sorting blocks afterwards that look super ugly and also require potentially an overhaul each time you want to add other stuff to the route. There are multiple exits for truck and train stations, so it seems natural to sort items that way. Also i really really hope they'll rework how the space elevator comes into the game and how the different tiers work. The space elevator should be the final endgame-tier that lets you send resources up there for a longterm-resource you gain back or similar to factorio. Having the most complex building by far in the entire game just build from some copper wires and steel plates and then do nothing important really all game long feels kinda meh. Why does one have the separate processes for things like sending resources up with the rocket thingy for during tiers but then do the elevator thing for in between tiers? Also, that early on the placement of the elevator is might kinda mess up your whole base layout as it's so big. So far, the game's doing well though. I'm excited to see how 1.0 will turn out.
I don't, because most of my background music comes from the TH-cam Audio Library and does not require attribution. Holy hell the advanced mode is all I needed. After 1000 hours, I really dont want to go through the whole bio-coal generation for the 3 billionth time. I can quick run them with this and then turn them off to play with normal difficultly. Can I turn this on and off at will though? I don't wanna cheat, just want to progress till i get past coal generation
Yes and no. You can change a normal save to an AGS (advanced game settings) save, but you can't revert an AGS save to a normal save. However, you can certainly toggle everything off. Enabled AGS just means you have the capability to use these settings. So basically yes, you could toggle on and off fly mode at will. And you can also set your progression stage when starting a new save, so you can skip straight to coal if you like!
sadly foliage isn't rendered in Nanite.. but.. honestly that's understandable.. Foliage rendering in UE5.2 is still at its early stages and not very well optimised nor finished
So... Just be sure here: "Keep Everything" means that death is only a punishment if you still needed to do something in the area you died in? In other words it could be a quick way to return to base? Because if that is the case then I'm all for it.
@@SatisfactoryNews Okay then. Since I made the comment I've learned a bit more. Apparently I'm a dumb dumb that never found the option to have "Keep Equipment" on. It always annoyed me to no end to lose my equipment. I think I'll play with that from now on instead of Keep Everything.
Very small critique, show where the option for experimental is, I know it would've made the video longer but people really like when all the information is in one video and not a google search. People could've done the same thing with all the new stuff in the update and skipped your video. But we came here, people like information that's not only easy to access, but easy to digest in a video format. Otherwise fantastic video.(sorry if my comment comes off rudely)
Good suggestion, unfortunately I only own the game on Epic so I was not able to show how to switch it on Steam. I think they mention it in one of the official Coffee Stain videos, and I tend to assume if people watch my videos, that they also watch the official videos that I get my info and some footage from.
They are on the final stages, so I would expect maybe just one or two more major updates before the full 1.0 release. I think within 2 years is a reasonable guess. But we'll see.
Power tower, new power switch, revamped titan forest, red jungle, and adjustments to other biomes, blueprint dismantle, hologram nudge, nuclear hogs, nanite/lumen with ue5, being able to use every fuel type with jetpacks, advanced game settings, destructable gas rocks, parachute/zipline tweaks, dismantle filter, and a bunch more balance changes
What's new..? I don't know dude, I made a whole vieo about it that you just commented on.. Finding the Experimental version in Steam is not as easy as Epic, but like I said, the answer is a simple Google search away. Just look it up.
I sqeaked really loudly at this. I will admit i have been using wemod but now i wont have to! And i can have a sandbox experience with the experimental branch
YEAAAAAH! Love what I see with update 8. Very excited for it to release for early access so I can disable the spiders because they're pointless and I hate them. Go to back to hell where you came from you disgusting cave crawling demons. I wish they just couldn't jump, but them being able to be disabled is nice anyway, since the arachnophobia mode cats are more of a meme than an actual solution. Actually, I was so scared of them that I quit playing satisfactory for a while out of fear of being attacked by one, but now I'm gonna love coming back in update 8.
Yet, the 1 thing I want isn't in the update!! No nuclear waste in doggo's storage, until you have at least 1 nuclear reactor running!!! But, I'd be ok with uranium in doggo's storage!!
in a vehicle you dont take damage from the nuclear radiation. you can drive it off as long and far you want. Plus they stack. you can drop them off in a poison tower area and if doggo brings more it's still only one waste barel (until the stack is full)
@M.J.2012 Yeah! To a big storage container, belted as fast as possible from a regular storage container!! Just makes the gas area even more dangerous!!! I'm just saying that nuclear waste shouldn't exist in early to kid game, because almost no one has nuclear power at that point!! So doggos shouldn't be able to have it, or get it!!

I have a 5 damn year old gtx 1050. I can just hope that they bring fsr technology to the game so that i could get extra 15-20 fps.We just finished phase 3 and there is a very long and laggy future ahead.Right now with the lowest setting you could have in the game im playing around 70-90 fps.
but is the sam or and artifacts useable yet?
No, story elements like that will be ready in the 1.0 release.
the pylons look a great addition. and I've nevwr had power issues, maybe it's dumb but i just way overdo my production vs consumption. and run everything off the same huge grid haha
So, any news on when Update 8 goes live on the actual early access mode? I understand it’s already on experimental but I’m curious when it’ll be stable enough to start a new world on it
There is no date set. Coffee Stain just went on their summer vacation, so the update will likely be in August or September.
@@SatisfactoryNews Good to know, thanks for the update!
I have been enjoying the game on steam deck as I can play while traveling. I'm wondering if it will decrease the perfomance when update 8 goes live.
Of course lumen and other fancy stuff turned off.
is there finally something to get rid of nuclear toxic waste? like a type of container to build to storage that stuff?
Could be a VRAM issue, but also it could be anything considering the current issues with Update 8.
3 weeks ago they said Nudge feature would NOT be for only blueprints, and that you can do it for any placeable. I haven't seen how that works yet.
It is for all buildings, look at the controls when you're placing something and you'll see it
Excuse me Sir: I'm reading all the time nudging and nudge feature, but I have no clue what that is. My translator doesn't display something that would fit. So ... What is it? Could you describe it - would be much appreciated!
When its going to be on early acces?
No date confirmed yet, but probably around August or September.
Does this mean that the ge can play on lower end PC's ?
I don't know what "ge" means, but no, Update 8 is a bit harder to run than previous iterations of the game, but also looks better.
Thank you.
Will start a new save when released 😊👍
I'm dealing with that first problem right now too so I agree. It's just a mess of smart splitters.
turning off stingers completely will be SO NICE
unlock all M.A.M research will be such a joy, straight up the part that is the biggest issue with the game for me personally.
Doing research is the best part for me. Can't imagine why somebody would want to cheat that away
Wow, awesome presentation, CHEERS!
Thank you for this video
He doesn't source his music in the description, does he?
I don't, because most of my background music comes from the TH-cam Audio Library and does not require attribution. However this video used some official Satisfactory music which I believe Coffee Stain has said is okay to use in Satisfactory content. This track is titled "Thanks Jace, Helps a Lot" by Dream Thing, and can be found on Soundcloud.
i love the fps view here
man i love Satisfactory updates, but it is a bummer its still early access more importantly still no news on the WIP items guarded by monsters
does anyone got to run it on an Dedi Server with the AGS?
What about trucks? Do they still have that klunky vehicle physics, can't even run over medium sized trees and having a mass of a beach volleyball?
They do have increased mass now, so they should feel less like a beach volleyball!
when release?
No date yet, but likely august or september
0:17 Maaaann I just transferred my data to my newly bought computer only to end up losing my entire inventory and my save file i've spent over a hundred and twenty hours into.
Cloud saves would have helped you here. Did you manually turn that feature off in your Steam/Epic?
Wow! Top update, I played with 9999 mods, and its very good point to add best from mods to the game!
The path for game saves to backup is:
C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Local\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames
That also works. %localappdata% shortcuts the first part.
@@SatisfactoryNews yeah, only if you copy and paste the path though. Whereas I click through the file structure
Nice video, but sorry bro: you forgot the most important thing: The Ficsit Checkmark!!!
Omg I’m so happy I can’t just turn spiders off 😂 and being able to fly to build with ease will be nice
my question is can my core i5/940mx run this game with update 8
Probably not.. I'd be surprised if that could run update 7 to be honest!
@@SatisfactoryNews suprisingly i can run new game but i don't know if i can run with multiple factory later
Better than kibitz's video, more organized, less lenghty, thanks :D
@@SatisfactoryNews thank you. Started with coal and using the giveaway thingy until i build stable base stuff. This is neat
please fix the batteries !!! in expremential game batteries not work right now
Please fix the tree bug i just got stuck 5 times like what
this guys voice is so calming
Thanks! I actually have an ASMR channel too 😁
this game more optimized (expermemental verzio) than some AAA games after 1-2 patches
--sry not too good my english--
How to comeback to update 7?
Just play on the Early Access branch instead of Experimental. That didn't change. This is always how updates work.
sadly foliage isn't rendered in Nanite.. but.. honestly that's understandable.. Foliage rendering in UE5.2 is still at its early stages and not very well optimised nor finished
They should move on to 5.3
@@M.J.2012 true
My favorite future is delete spiders 😊
So... Just be sure here: "Keep Everything" means that death is only a punishment if you still needed to do something in the area you died in? In other words it could be a quick way to return to base?
Because if that is the case then I'm all for it.
Hahaha that's actually a good point! You're totally right.
It is in the main menu where you would load the savegame. Right there you can choose which branch you want to play.
Best devs in the world
Finnaly, sandbox mode.
I've never seen anyone make a patch note video like this
Is that a good or bad thing? 😂
@@SatisfactoryNews it was a great thing.
Ya it crashes after 3 mins for me on new save.
Yep, lots of instability and performance issues, I hope they patch it quickly
Soooooo laggy. Even on high. This used to run flawless on Ultra.
Maybe by update 16 in 4 years they will finish the game? Some optimizations required
They are on the final stages, so I would expect maybe just one or two more major updates before the full 1.0 release. I think within 2 years is a reasonable guess. But we'll see.
So what's new??? all looks???and the power tower?
Power tower, new power switch, revamped titan forest, red jungle, and adjustments to other biomes, blueprint dismantle, hologram nudge, nuclear hogs, nanite/lumen with ue5, being able to use every fuel type with jetpacks, advanced game settings, destructable gas rocks, parachute/zipline tweaks, dismantle filter, and a bunch more balance changes
ufff hell yea...
How do you play? is not in Steam tho.
And i can have a sandbox experience with the experimental branch
tôi muốn thêm vào chức năng trồng nấm và quả...
So good video, if you would add timestamps it'd be perfect 💯
win+R
%localappdata%\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames
Does this mean Kibitz will start a new serie ? :D
Omg finally a free build mode. Now I dont have to use those mods for this.
Good they made thoses gas pods destructible...👃
I didn't get any of those advanced setting
Watch Coffee Stain's recent video on game modes. You have to enable them in your save before they show up.
Sad that my 5 year old pccan no longer handle the game
Dedicated Server ?
I don't think they had any updates for those.
I love how your world name is dsadasdasdasdadsa, simply inspiring
Even better, those are the clips from the official Coffee Stain video, so that's the name of Jace's world 😂 my world is called Update 5, which feels a bit out of date now!
