Since this update I run into an issue were if I press the hotkeys 1-9 while I already have an item to be built "on" my build gun, then instead of switching to the new building, it sets the one currently on the build gun as a hotkey. This seems to only happen after I Alt-Tab out of the game and go back in and is always fixed by switching the hotbar, but is still very anoying, hope they fix that soon
That sounds like it's a side affect of one of the new features. When you have a hologram selected on the build gun, then press Alt plus a number key, you add that hologram to the hotbar. It sounds like that is what's happening to you. If I were to guess, I would assume maybe after Alt-tabbing back into the game, the Alt key is still considered to be pressed, so when you press a number key it thinks you're pressing Alt+Number. I wonder if the issue goes away if you Alt-tab back into the game and then click your left mouse button in the game before pressing a number? I would love to know the results.
Yeah I really should have spent more time explaining that, or just said nothing. CSS has said they wanted to upgrade, but not when it was brand new - only when the bugs were fixed and it was stable enough to use, which it now apparently is. So yes, upgrading can often be a bad thing, but is generally a good thing if that upgrade is stable and verified to function properly. It'll be better in the long run, usually!
update 8 is feature complete, they're just optimizing, bug fixing and improving things like qol as they prepare for releasing the patch. we're gonna have to be patient for awhile regarding new content
I went in and changed hotbar swapping scroll direction immediately after seeing this video, and I am also very happy about the power pole change. However, I just tested it 2 minutes before writing this, you do not have to hold down CTRL to place it in between an existing line as you mentioned in the video. It's enough to aim for the cable and click LMB. Unless I misunderstood what you meant.
I think you may have misunderstood, but it's a small thing. You could do the power line thing for a while now, but holding Ctrl now snaps the new pole to a straight line between the two existing poles, as opposed to when your are NOT holding Ctrl and you can place the new pole anywhere. Similar to when placing another buildable and holding Ctrl where it Will try to snap to other conveyor belts and openings.
Ooooh, I see now. Thanks for taking the time to clarify! Great video btw, nice and concisely done. And how great is that Zipline sprint mode eh? That paired with the jetpack = ZOOOM@@SatisfactoryNews
Did they fix the spawning Doggo Issue? You tame a doggo, and walk it to your base. You go back to that place where the doggo was tamed, and the doggo spawns back to where you tamed it.
Anyone had an issue with the update emptying your inventory ? (i have zapper an nothing else) - oh and questions site is returning a gateway error :( edit: Its treating my single player game as multiplayer I think.. I now have a floating pioneer about 50mtr in the air :(
Normally this is the result of loading the save file "offline", ie without internet connection, when you would normally have that connection. It will play as normal while offline, but the next time you load it with an internet connection, you are treated as a fresh player entering into a multiplayer game, with the host (your original body) being treated as a logged of player.
the experimental branch has gotten way more stable since the devs came back from vacation, it's actually worth playing now but patience is the safer bet. especially if you want to continue your current save instead of making a new one.
All of this was pulled directly from the patch notes for this update, so I just took what was there. Although, I did mention that I was pretty sure the splitter/merger upgrade thing already existed and it wasn't clear what was new about it in this patch.
upgrading could be a bad thing, in the sense that i have a pretty weak pc but satisfactory as it is runs really well. so i hope it runs just as good. the devs have done great at optimizing the game
The performance issues have mostly gone away, but Update 8 is still going to be harder to run than Update 7. But with upscaling features like DLSS that have been added, hopefully you can get the game to run better.
I have a middling pc myself and I seen some decrease in performance going to 8.1 but it got a lot better with 8.2, maybe even better for me than update 7
Very excited to hear about the 0.5m nudge. Thanks for the summary because this is the first patch notes I ran out of steam before finishing reading.
🤘
It was a chonky one, so I don't blame you! Thanks for watching!
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why Coffee Stain is the best dev team in the world.
yeah maybe, but in the end I lost my patience. This game will never be finished ... And probably very little will come back when it will be.
You didn't lose your patience, you got bored.
@@r2b289game still has far more content, less bugs and is insanely optimised compared to all other completed games.

Yeah, ask a guys responsible Lords of the fallen how it is not a bad thing xD
some good results, just shows the team are listening to the players. Nice. Thumbed up.
"Updating to newer version is never a bad thing" :D That made me so laugh :D As a software developer I can say, it's more like exact opposite :D

I would love to get new content, but those QoL are also awesome!

Has the pc crash been addressed with the new graphic option when it suggests what the best when it looks at my hardware???
That explains why everything respawned on my save 😂
I like when it does that, as it means more slugs!
I hope they are finished with update 8 soon
They will be! They have been saying it's only a few more weeks on Experimental until it comes to Early Access.
@@SatisfactoryNews That’s great news! I have some mods and I hope they don’t break my save.

Doggo is in fact a species of cicada, it pops out of the ground when reaching maturity 🤣
the best update Satosfactory will ever see, is when programmable splitters can limit itemflow/minute. At least it would be worth it to craft them
I couldn't agree more! That'd be incredible. Although it can be fun to build complex balancing systems.
they stated they wouldnt add that cause its apart of the difficulty of the game, they also said if you want that there are mods that let you do it.
I really hope they gonna leave that "The Cycle: Frontier" poster in a toilet where it belongs.

I saw them tweet about this issue. If you kill the clone, you can take all your stuff back and things should be normal again.
Normally this is the result of loading the save file "offline", ie without internet connection, when you would normally have that connection. It will play as normal while offline, but the next time you load it with an internet connection, you are treated as a fresh player entering into a multiplayer game, with the host (your original body) being treated as a logged of player.
Normally that would be the case, but this update caused it to happen more widely, seemingly regardless of online or offline.
personally I am going to wait for 8 to go to normal release, as in my experince, he live version tends to behave a bit different from the expermental.

auto release sprinting oh man you don't know how much this is gana help me 💯💯
Cool!
Some Points of this Video are already in the game
