How is it pulling an 80+ pound dog? I have a 90 pounder and a recumbent eTRIKE. Not sure if my guy would even ride as he is not a fan of truck/car rides and won’t even get in our golf cart. He was dumped near us last summer in 113 degree heat as a pup. We saved him and he is a sweetheart. He happily runs beside the golf cart and also beside my trike, but I want to do 20 miles when out and about, not just 3 or 4 since we live 30 minutes away from a trail.
Bongo was 80+ish and he was fine, but he didn’t move around. My new dog is around 60ish pounds. She will move a bit, but not bad. I had to take time training Addie (the new dog). First leveling just the trailer without wheels and tossing treats and toys inside. I would leave the top open for that, but looking back, I should have left it shut more like a crate. After she seemed to get used to that, I hooked up the wheels and clamped the trailer to something sturdy and repeated the treats and toys. After that, I hooked it up to the bicycle and did the treat/toy thing. Then after awhile, I shut her in the trailer and would give her treats as I rolled it back and forth. Finally, I took her for a ride. She was mostly good with it and seems to be ok now. The inside leader properly adjusted helps with keeping her still, but I have to keep her completely zipped in. Bongo was just fine with leaving the doors and roof unzipped. With Addie, she is good with car rides. It takes time teaching them to get used to things. It took a month to get to the point of taking Addie for her first bike ride. Teaching them how to get used to canoes, cars and the bathtub is the same. Plenty of treats and make it fun.
Thank you, suscribed
No problem. Thank you for subscribing. :)
i originally came over to your channel to see how well the Eahora Juliet worked in snow. Out of curiosity i seen this vid tucked way down below. at 14 years old and seen it was about Bongo. I'm sorry to have heard about him. but you now have your new dog and this video to remind you of the good times. I know this is just some random text from someone you never met, but keep up the good work . I love your vids and heres to many more rides for you.and your new dog.
Thank you. I’ve gotta get used to walking the dog and adding back in the bicycling. Hoping I can work it out soon. Thank you for the encouragement.
The dual motor juliet 3 looks interesting
It is pretty cool. I have seen a review of the twin motor Romeo, but none for the dual motor Juliet.
I've ridden the Monon, Midland Trace, Nickel Plate and the Big 4 Rail Trail in Zionsville full length. Planning the Big 4 Rail Trail (Colfax to Lebanon ), B & O Rail Trail (Tilden), B & O Rail Trail (Brownsburg to Avon), Vandalia Rail Trail (Plainfield), Pennsy Trail (Beach Grove) and The Indianapolis Cultural Trail soon. Have you ridden any of those Trails?
I’ve ridden the Monon throughout the years from Sheridan down to Broadripple. All of the Midland Trace and the Noblesville/Fishers section of the Nickel Plate. Need to get back to the bike and ride some more. Still getting used to the walking schedule with the new dog. :)
i originally came to your channel looking for reviews of the Juliet but find your stuff chill. im liking the fps rides around your town. KEEP IT UP!
oh im also in FL about to move to MN how bad is it riding on snow?
Thank you. :) I need to get out there more. I know what you mean about the fps view, though. I enjoy watching others ride that way, too.
That’s a big climate change. :) The snow isn’t bad. Wet snow will require a lot of after ride cleanup, but I think they get colder, drier snow up there. I don’t think it would be as hard as the sugar sand you have down in Florida, though. The bigger cities, like Minneapolis probably have good bicycling infrastructure.
I’m thinking of getting this for my senior dog :)
It works really well. Bongo didn’t move around much, so it was perfect for him. Being able to leave the screens wide open for him was nice. My new dog is a bit young, so she wants to get out if I leave any of the panels unzipped. Fortunately she sits still. If you need any tips on how to train your dog to acclimatize to the trailer, let me know. Thank you for watching!
Like the video dude!
Thank you. I appreciate you watching.
I use my Juliet for all my transportation. I put 30-50 miles a day on it most days, and have done over 100 in a day one time so far. I’ve had it since the end of February and have over 1500 miles on it now.
That's awesome! Thank you for watching!
@@TwoWheelWanderer650 I’m always looking for tips and hacks to make my bike faster and more awesome. Keep up the good work!
I ride an Lectric Xpremium slightly modified to accommodate my mobility issues. Usually ride 20 - 40 miles per trip, sometimes twice a week. Mostly throttle, which gives me 50 miles of range. Have a 2 bike rack for my vehicle so I've been exploring several trails within a 25 mile radius of Carmel. Recently rode the Big 4 Rail Trail in Zionsville. Will ride the Pensy, B & O, Nickle Plate and Vandalia rail trails in the immediate future. Had my bike since February and have already rode slightly over 700 miles. I can haul 2 bikes plus additional equipment with my truck and bike rack. You and Addie are welcome to go with me.
That'd be cool. On this trip, I used almost all throttle coming back from Sheridan. I was a bit tired from the walk we took before this wide. LOL How long is the trail in Zionsville? I had seen a brief article about it, but didn't see how long it was. I saw a handful of Lectric's out the other day when I took Addie on her first ride in the pet trailer. That was headed towards Carmel on the Monon.
@@TwoWheelWanderer650 Big 4 Rail Trail is approx 8 - 9 miles. I went end to end and took a few side trips for a total of 20.4 miles. I use an app called komoot which showed sections which were under construction but actually completed. Let's plan lunch ASAP. I can meet you at one of the restaurants at the intersection of the Monon and main (hwy 32) in Westfield. Just east of the Monon. I'm retired and available any time. Just pick a day and time.
Sorry about your dog. Im getting an ebike soon maybe an eahora or an aniioki a8 pro max. Just because of the alarm and it catches my eye. Ill be using it for a delivery bike. Door dash. Thank you for the updates. I like your page
Thank you. :) I think both bikes would be great for DoorDash. I used to do it by car, but always thought it would be nice by bicycle or motorcycle. The only thing here though is the deliveries are usually pretty spread out in suburbia. I'd definitely have to be more selective with accepting deliveries. I have watched some delivery guys here on TH-cam and it seems like it is an awesome way to get deliveries done in the bigger cities. Thank you for watching.
So nice there..got so windy today .it is hard losing a pet..I lost my last one this past fall, had her 13 yrs..then I got a bike
Sorry about your pup, too. The bike helps a bit to get out and clear the mind. It is dumping rain and 60 mph gusts today. Hope it moves out.
@@TwoWheelWanderer650 well dry and windy here.. hopefully I can ride this week
So sorry about Bongo. Glad U are moving on w addie. I ride my Wallke H6 ST for recreation usually 20-30 miles, 2-3 times a week. I am in South Bend IN. I have been trailering to rail trails and country roads.
Thank you. That sounds like some good rides. Are there any good trails near the campus? I haven't spent much time up there other than when I used to drive a semi. I can imagine there are some beautiful rides around the Amish farms.
@@TwoWheelWanderer650 A lot on campus and a path from Niles MI to downtown Mishawaka. For U the Nickle Plate from Kokomo to Rochester. Google maps has a bike path option.
Thanx for the tour 👍🏿
Hi..Nice to see ya,bud..Have fun and be safe from Central Illinois..🙂
Thank you. I appreciate you watching.
Nice to see you on the road again with your new companion. Whenever you're ready like to take you to lunch in Westfield or Carmel. Have some questions about vlogging, and have several rides I have planned or already taken I'd like to share.
Sounds great! Hoping the weather keeps up. (today isn't the best) I'll have to connect with you soon so we can work it out. My schedule is typically wide open.
Welcome back, nice day.
Thank you. It was. :)
You're back 🎉,. Colorado finally warmed up! Then my car broke so I haven't taken my bike anywhere but I bought another Ebike went for a test ride and hope to get out more 😊. Addie is cute 😊
Sorry about the car. :( I saw you had gotten the E-bike, but haven’t been able to watch much recently. But, I will soon. :)
@@TwoWheelWanderer650 thank you. I've only been on this Ebike once so far , you haven't missed much lol
lol, it takes time. :)
can i use different brakes for my bike
I’ve seen where people have changed to different brakes, like a Shimano brake disc setup. I am not sure if the process switching them in relationship to mounting them on the fork and how the wiring matches up with the electrical connectors. If you look around on TH-cam, there are some people that have videos mentioning they have changed them. Also, on Facebook, there is a group called Eahora E-bike Community - Electric Bike. If you search through past posts, I think there is someone that has converted to new brakes.
Also worth noting with this is that while 48.1 volts may be 55% charged by way of voltage on a chart, as far as actual watt hours (range) left in the battery at that point (48.1 volts) you probably only have 25-35% range left and that is because the voltage starts to drop much faster in the lower voltage range of a battery So if you were to use voltage as a way of guaging how many miles you have left on a charge, you may find yourself peddaling the bike without assistance much sooner than anticipated!
Very true. I’d be interested to see if there is some kind of algorithm that could pump out the “useful” measurement to break down the percentage of range remaining.
Do you have the 52 volt version of this bike? Right now i can get the 48 volt version for $1300 or the 52 volt juliet 2 for $1999 i am wondering if the 52 volt is worth the extra money. It would all come down to range and speed for me.
I have the original 48v version. I’m sure there is a bit more zip, but I think you’d be better off with the range of the original.
26.3167 watt hours per mile. That is a lot better than i do on my 2 bikes. The one i have with a 13.6 AH battery, 48 volt, i get 17 miles on a charge or 38.35 wh per mile and the other bike i have with 29.2 AH of battery, again 48 volt, i get about 40 miles per charge which equals 35.06 wh per mile. Incidently, the 'more efficient' bike is a heavy fat tire bike with 24x4" tires inflated to 20 lbs and the other has 27.5x 2.2". I believe the battery capacity to be under stated on the fat tire bike and that is the only explanation that would make aense to me. I have had to peddal both bikes without assistance before and the fat tire bike is by far the more difficult one to pedal without assistance, as would be expected. How much do you weigh?
I weigh 190 lbs. I typically pedal more than I let the motor actually go. I need to do actual range tests solely using the different pas settings and pedaling with the first three pas settings. Pedaling in 4 and 5 is pretty much ghost pedaling unless I want to give myself a coronary. I may do some range tests with hauling the dog behind me in a trailer, as well.
@TwoWheelWanderer650 gotcha, my numbers are pas 5 full throttle the whole time I will end up with an average speed up to 27 mph on the fat tire bike and 26 on the other. It's a shame they don't always gear these bikes for speed. A 56 tooth in the front with smallest cog of 11 in the rear is a nice high speed combo. I use my bikes for commuting so its full steam ahead all of the time. I am trying to figure out whether the juliette 2 will get me 80 miles at around 34 mph. That is a number where I would be a buyer.
I’m not sure if it will or not. The original Juliet claims to get 60-80 miles on just throttle. I wish there were more reviews out there on the new models.
Can I ride this bike in the rain
Do I need to cover the battery at all if I do
I have ridden mine in light rain. I wouldn’t recommend it in a heavy down pour.
How does the cold weather affect the battery? Do you keep it at room temperature inside before you take it out?
The cold doesn't seem to affect the battery's power. I think I read somewhere that battery life isn't seriously affected until the temp gets down to 23 degrees F. Once you are rolling, the battery warms up from use so shouldn't be noticeable. This winter I kept the bike inside, so not sure of the true effects on cold storage. Thank you for watching. :)
I would put 160MM crank arms on the bike if I could because it will give you more clearance in the turns. Less pedal strike.
That's a good idea. I will have to look some up. :) Thank you.
I crashed on my Lectric EP. Last week. It has crank sensors/ cadence sensors and I was turning on loose gravel over asphalt. Very tricky like ice. The crank sensor kicked in unexpectedly and I was on the ground before I knew what happened. skinned up and bruised but nothing broken. The bike will lurch forward and kick the front wheel out from under you in a heartbeat. I should have kept at least one brake lever pulled so it couldn't do that. lesson learned. Hope my experience helps save someone else form getting hurt. Hang in there and hope you get well soon.
Ouch. Hope you heal up quickly. I have finally got over the road rash serious itching phase. (about 2 months) It has healed but still scarred. My wrist is feeling it still. I just don't seem to heal as well anymore. I know what you mean about covering the brakes. On my motorcycle, it is much simpler to recover when the rear starts sliding out. The front is harder, but still easier than on the bicycle. Not sure if it's the shorter distance or what. I don't have good pedal position awareness, I guess.
I looked for hours how to reset the trip but no success until I found your video . Thanks for sharing the simple reset 👍👍👍
Glad I could help. :)
380 miles where ? in one charge or how many charges you did ?
It was multiple charges. I meant that this was a review at 380 miles of riding the bicycle. Not in a single trip. I’m not sure the exact number of charges . It wasn’t very many.
Для снега шипованную резину надо , на обычной можно очень сильно упасть .
Типа такой, но у тебя 24 " , FAT BIKE Schwalbe Al Mighty
The bike does well in fresh snow. I’m not sure how it would do in hard packed snow. You are right, studded tires would be nicer. Thank you for watching.
You got a vintage e bike there buddy😊
Yeah, I do. Lol
Hello, I love watching your videos, I lived in Westfield 24 years ago. I live in Fishers now and I ride through that area once in a while. I also have a green Eahora Juliet and enjoy it. I hope to see you on the trail sometime this year so we could meet and chat a while or maybe ride together sometime. See you on the trail.
That’d be great. Gonna be back out on the bike again soon. Been dealing with some things the past few weeks. I sure hope it warms up again soon. Lol
Thank You! 😀
Scary enough riding on snow slick pavement but that guy keeps putting his hand over my eyes. LOL
Lol, I thought it was scary for everyone.
I am falling asleep do you normally drive at 10 mi an hour
lol, when I’m on trails and such yes. The day I shot this video, I had my dog in a pet trailer behind me.cant really go too much faster with him on the back. :) If I’m on an open road, I usually go faster.
What app do you use for navigation and stats?
For navigation, I typically use Osmand. It’s available on iPhone and android. I use it to input gps tracks to create routes I want to follow it is not very intuitive. The other information I get from the Juliet’s smart display. Thank you for continuing to watch my videos. :)
Beautiful and relaxing.
Thank you. It was a beautiful day.
Why so slow
If you mean why do I only stick around 13 or so mph, it’s because of the trails I am on. I do switch it up sometimes. If I spent more time on the street, I would probably run it at higher speeds. Thank you for watching. :)
Lucky the paths aren't busy yet .Here people and pests are coming out of the woodwork now , people get crazy , start driving crazy acting more crazy ..oh when the weather gets warm 😅
I went with Bongo on Friday and it was crazy busy going south on the Monon. I prefer to avoid all that, but…

Wow, this weather is perfect for riding! Great!
It sure is!
I have a question do you know the type of fork the bike has I need to replace mine it got bent
I want to make sure I buy the right one
@@Chocolate_Thunder90 I’m sorry. I don’t. I know there is someone else on TH-cam that has a recommended fork for upgrade but I am not sure what it is.
@@TwoWheelWanderer650 it’s the part that hold the front wheel
Dang life could have been so different for you after that staph infection. Ive had sepsis from botched surgery and had a tube in my back into my kidney. Basically a urine bag ..got septic..four days 24/7 on IV antibiotics in hospital..then a second surgery 4 months after to repair the first surgery. I see you're more careful since this last fall LoL
well ... as careful as I should be. :) That must have been rough. Staph is definitely no joke. I've heard horror stories of stuff like a guy on a plane having a paper cut and by the end of the flight he had died. It's weird how it can attack different people so rapidly.
@@TwoWheelWanderer650 yikes on the paper cut..I've been cut.. stepped on nails just cut myself the other day . Guess I am a walking germ 😅
Such a nice place..I waiting for us to look better here 😅
sounds like your zippy bike might benefit from a tune up
The constant whirring noise is actually the old style motor working. It’s an odd thing. I tried really hard on my editing software to remove the sound or minimize it, but everything just kept making it worse. 😀 thank you for continuing to watch my videos. :)
