380 Mile Review of the Eahora Juliet - Mid-ride Review (Hedonic Juliet)

- During my recent ride, I decided to discuss what I like and don't like about the Eahora Juliet. I have 380 miles on it so far and it is going strong.
I'm sorry about the line in the bottom right corner of the video. The camera fell on the concrete and cracked the screen protector.
Please understand, I only recommend purchasing this bike because I have thoroughly enjoyed riding it. It is an affordable intro to the super long range ebikes.

The dual motor juliet 3 looks interesting
It is pretty cool. I have seen a review of the twin motor Romeo, but none for the dual motor Juliet.
You talked about upgrading to motorcycle tires. You mentioned a 16” x 3” tire. Will look forward to that!
Yeah. I’m interesting to see how it goes. The motorcycle tires will be heavier weight so more spinning mass. Hopefully they work out.
I got my Juliet about a month ago, and despite some really rainy weather I’ve put more than 200 miles on it already. I use mine as if it were a moped scooter except it’s a “bike” so I don’t need a license, registration, or insurance. I’m in an urban area and ride it on trails, city street, and bike lanes, all paved. It’s been great. Even using throttle only and typically going 25+ mph, I get 25 miles before losing a bar and about 40 before I feel like I need to charge it… I will say this: I don’t have range anxiety with it. Adding a rear basket and saddle bags makes it a cargo/errand beast. I have found that I can pretty much get anywhere within city limits with the combination range, and the 30mph top speed.
My biggest complaint is security related. Given the obvious urban delivery use case, this should have had something like this built in:

Or at least had mount points for adding one. Especially since the lack of a top tube and the gigantic down tube for the batter makes it hard to get a chain or (especially) a U lock on this bike.
Otherwise, this thing is amazing. Especially for the $1500 price point it’s currently going at (they released the new 52V Juliet II, but I honestly think I’d save $350 and get the old one anyway.)
I agree. The lack of an inability to connect accessories is a problem. I talked with their customer service about things that could be added. Like the standard sized mounting holes for accessories is definitely needed. I use a cheap cable lock on mine but feel really uncomfortable about it. A high quality chain lock is hard to use unless you are able to have a really long one. If I'm really worried about it, I usually switch to the old Currie E-bike that I have.
I saw that they added a plastic plate under the battery, so that is good for preventing some water getting up from the bottom, but I told them that extending the plastic to the hole that the controller cables go in would be even better.
another question what storage bin is that in the rear basket?
It's an old Rubbermaid File Storage Tub. I bought it a long time ago at an office supply store. It was luck that it fit just right. There are several kinds of file storage totes on Amazon, but I'm not sure how they fit.
Do you have the 52 volt version of this bike? Right now i can get the 48 volt version for $1300 or the 52 volt juliet 2 for $1999 i am wondering if the 52 volt is worth the extra money. It would all come down to range and speed for me.
I have the original 48v version. I’m sure there is a bit more zip, but I think you’d be better off with the range of the original.
Do you make sure these are street legal where you live

lol, when I’m on trails and such yes. The day I shot this video, I had my dog in a pet trailer behind me.cant really go too much faster with him on the back. :)
If I’m on an open road, I usually go faster.
does it have anti-theft measures?
Not particularly. You can program a PIN code, but really need a good lock and maybe alarm. You can buy a disc brake lock that has an alarm on it. I live in a reasonably “safe” area, but usually don’t waste time in a store. I use an old cable lock.

It doesn't look like that size is available from any sellers on Amazon, currently. You can find it from other sellers on google searching for Shinko 244 3.00-16. Partzilla is a motorcycle supplier that I have used a lot. @@JasonXBeats Yeah. For some reason bicycle tires and motorcycle tires are measured differently. The 4.0x20 ebike tire is the same size as a 3.00x16 motorcycle tire. The motorcycle tires will be harder to mount than a bicycle tire, but the likelihood of flats is much less.

380 miles where ? in one charge or how many charges you did ?
It was multiple charges. I meant that this was a review at 380 miles of riding the bicycle. Not in a single trip. I’m not sure the exact number of charges . It wasn’t very many.
have you found an adjustable front fork replacement yet?

@@TwoWheelWanderer650 You think this would work i know the size (80mm TRAVEL) but i heard the travel doesn't matter that much. Just the axel width. thoughts?
@@JasonXBeats I haven't looked into them just yet. I know the axel width and the diameter for the stem matters. Unsure what those sizes are though.
I looked in the guy's video that has the upgrades but he never responded to what the upgrade was. Another guy linked to this fork. I don't know if it will work so have caution. a.co/d/fuqmqP0
