Chainsaws become so important for helping heal up from the damage & destruction that storms can leave behind 😊 your community is fortunate to have you Richard
I originally from Greenville and now live in Charlotte. What your describing sounds a bit like Hugo here in Charlotte in the late 80’s! I was out of power over a week! Glad your ok! Really like your videos!!! Bud
Here in SE Pennsylvania back in July a bad storm came through and wrecked a lot of folks. I was able to help a friend who couldn’t get his saw going. At least I was able to clear out the driveway. It’s nice to hear about neighbors helping out. Prayers for you all
So glad you’re ok mate. We lost power for two weeks in the 2019 bushfires. We were lucky. Our neighbours lost their house. Was a very busy time in the workshop. All the best from Australia 🇦🇺
Well, cant say much about your area, but how things are going in europe, america and around the word right now.. This is going to be the new "normal". ( altough we here in europe dont have Huricans and such ... yet 😂) I think we've had 6 or 7 years of heat in a row, now this summer's been the wettest and floodiest in my life. Its kinda like the endtimes from the bible. 😂 Love to see how you lot hold together in challenging circumstances, no matter what. These solo chainsaws are even rarely seen here in Germany .. Market is dominated by Stihl with some swedish staining here and there. I run a 044 (12mm pin) and a 550 mk2 both heated handles** Keep it up Richard, love your content!! Greetings from Munich
Good to hear you made it through. For future reference, a couple of sheets of scrap plywood, carefully placed lean to style around the non-exhaust sides of the generator (unless you're ambitious and want to build something more fancy), can make a pretty decent dent in the noise level without affecting cooling airflow and give you some protection from the weather.. Again, before somebody comments, we want to leave plenty of room for air to get around the unit, just reflect sound away from the house, or better yet, at a downward angle and dissipate it into the ground.
Glad ur ok Mr. Richard. We had a ice storm few years back and people were without electricity for a month. I cooked Thanksgiving dinner on the wood stove!
Christ, that looks scary.. I'm glad you're ok, fella.... we have bad weather here in the uk, but nothing on that scale and didn't realise it was that bad. Stay safe, brother🙌
Glad you’re safe Rich. We had two bad storms here in Houston this year and were w/o power for 8 days during each one. I did like you and helped neighbors cut trees w/ my equipment. I stocked up early on fuel & bar oil. Definitely good to put a list together and stock up at the first news of something coming. Take care.
Glad you're OK. I'm in East Tennessee, but my county was very fortunate. We looked very similar to what you showed in the video. 30-45 minutes away looks like a war zone. I26 is destroyed heading towards the North Carolina border. I have friends in Western NC, I honestly have no words for what they've seen and what they're going through. They've been running saw crews in and out on UTVs from this area. Hard to believe what's happened, but it does my heart good to see how everybody has come together and pitched in to help others.
The power crew that worked my neighborhood was from Tennessee. Gave the crew a half a bottle of 10yr bourbon (discretely) and a box of cookies. I asked where they were staying and he said they were in a "camp". I heard they brought in tents and tractor trailers with bunk beds. I don't know why I thought they would have been put up in hotels. Maybe some were. Those dudes worked their asses off.
@@richardflagg3084 man, this was actually pretty cool. A friend of a friend, on Facebook, posted a picture she took at one of our local Walmarts of Canadian linemen heading further south. Coolest thing I've seen, who would have thunk Canadian linemen coming to help? You're a good man, I'm sure they appreciated the bourbon.
Wow! @richardflagg3084! Definitely looks like you’re due for a nap, good job helping everybody keep keeping on! Sounds like American Thanksgiving would be the time to remember those folks in the rural areas that will need some help again by then. Sure is amazing what Mother Nature can throw at us..about 10 years ago, we got hit with 7 feet of snow in a blizzard when I lived on the North Coast of BC 🇨🇦. So many people in those small towns helping each other, you just keep going because somebody else needs a hand. Take care buddy 😉👍
Glad to hear your ok! My thoughts and prayers to all those who weren't so fortunate. Don't consider myself a prepper either but still keep atleast a weeks worth of non perishables, water, generators, gas etc...
Richard, I'm out of Raleigh and connected to a small tree company (Pippin Tree) we called our friends in Asheville who said they were ok, but we keep hearing about desperation in the outskirts. I work for a company who has a shop in Greenville and didn't know how bad it was until your video. Thanks for the heads up and advice to follow up with warm clothes and other supplies after the initial rush. Will do.
Hi Richard, You look tired my man! 😮 I had forgotten You were down in the great state of South Carolina. Glad You are Ok, and Thanks for helping others out! I have seen People coming together to help others. I will avoid going down any Political Wabbit Holez, but it is a shame how so many People are hurting right now. It is GUT Wrenching for sure. Did I hear you correctly say ‘Greenville?’ I know they got hit hard. It made me sick to see the downtown area and how bad it was. Beautiful City and especially the Falls Park on the Reedy. It brought a tear to my eye. Take care Richard. I’m Praying for our Country. I am concerned. 👍🤝🇺🇸
“She’s A beauty” @ 11:27 😊 Yeah, A portable Genny is nice to have, but what a racket, and cords and cords and , well, cords. You might consider getting an Electrician install a transfer switch Richard? Then you can flip on and off critical circuits, and not deal with cords, but only the noise?! Once any place, no matter the terrain, gets over about 10-12 inches of rain, watch out! Take care Richard
hello richard it’s horrible the hurricane I sympathize, I hope that your mechanical workshop was not affected here in france it’s the same there are no tornadoes but floods trees no longer need to be cut down they are all uprooted courage you
I feel your pain Richard, we got smashed last year by cyclone Gabriele here in Hawkes Bay New Zealand. Did not have power for 5 weeks and lost all our local bridges. Somethings will never be the same.
Glad you made it through undamaged. We didn’t have any damage either but man a dude with a chainsaw could cut till his hearts content around here (as long as he has fuel).
I work from home. Feel free to email me and I'll give you a call. TH-cam would just delete the reply if I put a phone number or email. My email is on my home page (desktop only).
Hey Richard, I got an inside line on a 500i at $750 that’s blown up - crank bearings failed. Is this an easy fix/good deal or is it likely a money pit? Stay safe buddy! Thinking of y’all.
I picked some trees off houses, doing crane work, in Greenville. Nice city! Great people.

The safety police think people have lost all common sense. That's a good idea. Thanks

I'm from North Augusta and we got hammered. I was helping to cut out roads for days. I was only without power for 6 days. I'm one of the lucky ones.
It was rough here in Greenwood! Power just came back on last night at 7:30. Glad to see yall made out OK. So sorry for those folks up around Ashville!

Hey Mr Richard. I live in the upstate and would like to check your shop out sometime. Where exactly are you at? What’s the name of your shop? Thanks

Hey Richard,
I got an inside line on a 500i at $750 that’s blown up - crank bearings failed. Is this an easy fix/good deal or is it likely a money pit? Stay safe buddy! Thinking of y’all.
If it's in good cosmetic condition, yes. If it's not then it's a hard no. It's not an easy repair, but if you can do it yourself I'd do it.
Hey brother I live in Greenville as well. How can I get in touch with you for small engine work?
Email. I don't think it shows up on a mobile device, but on a desktop or laptop you can find it on home page.
Keep after it
👍🆙RF
Glad you got away unscathed Richard, are u in the firing line for milton?
Doesn't look like it will be anywhere close at the moment. Will be watching.
