Emulating the Amiga inside a DOS Emulator
Hi, I ve a problem with the final fight enhanced LHA homebrew of 2024, i have a black screen, i have a A500 mini with amiberry 5, please help me😢
when i try to register in fs-uae, i never receive an email. what can be the issue?
Open retro doesn't appear to be working. Any alternatives?
AmigaLIve is the king. It has a 24h Twitch channel community that anyone can play games on stream and that includes Multiplayer games. Amiga even has a C64 emu on the client people can play those games 2p too.
Thanks Amiga friend !
Looking forward to a new WinUae guide in 2025. I used your old guide and actually got Monkey Island 2 running :). I enjoyed your guide so much I bought a real Amiga 500 this year and I'm really enjoying using this.
Glad my guides helped. Monkey Island 2 is better in emulation. No disk swapping. Enjoy the Amiga 500 :-)
for the regular Amiga 500 using the Workbench 1.2, use the CLI and run df1:transrom >df1:kick.rom to dump the rom. I wasn't able to get into the Opus shell for some reason - at least not when using actual physical floppy disks.
Do you mean Directory Opus? If so, might be the version your using. Might not be compatible with Workbench 1.2
I’m really excited you’re back. I hope life is treating you better. Can’t wait to enjoy your content. Amiga Forever!!!😊
lha unknown command
you'll need to install lha then. I cover it in the first 3 parts of my WinUAE guide
i try to boot from usb but go ever in the Bios, any tip?
it doesn't work. UI did this some 20 years ago, and it worked, but I cannot figure out why this time it says 99.8% recognized, but in the emulator it doesn't do anything...
I'm not bale to find this version 2.5. I download the latest version available which is 2.6 and doesn't work.....gives me an error. Help needed please
The error appears on amiga a500 mini to be precise.....How can i get the version you show on the video?
Why can’t you use Amiga Forever on its own
Guess my comments with links and similar got deleted. The FTP info is wrong. You do NOT need to register your own account for downloading. Its only for uploading. Use the anonymous user "ftp" with any password.
The A500 was my first computer. Got it back in 1989 when I was stationed at Kunsan AFB, Korea. Good times. They should have put the Cinemaware games on it. Also Phantasie 3.
Well it did not work for me unfortunately, it says Amiberry is not installed during HstWB installer for Raspbery Pi, but it is installed :/
Since about 2020 I have been desperately trying to get into Amiga. I love my 64 and 128, but ended up skipping on Amiga as my dad went the PC route with a 386sx-16 as the machine after the 64C. My struggle is that I have no idea what to DO with the machine. I've done the emulation and have my MiSTer setup with Amiga "emulation", but I haven't found "purpose" yet. I think my problem is specifically that I wasn't in that arena when they were popular so I don't have any knowledge base about them. I don't have any ties to them, but, I want to try and understand what WOULD bring me into that ecosystem. I know a couple people who would sell their machines, but, I'm not interested in the price tag until I'm quite confident that I'm going to use it for the prices that they're asking (Which are absolutely fair prices, since I know them personally and it's not an ebay scam)
You raise some good questions for when nostalgia isn't the driving force. I think you should have a go just exploring Workbench operating system. But thinking about what passions and hobbies do you enjoy. Are you a creative person, if so Deluxe Paint, Personal Paint and maybe eventually 3D rendering programs would be something to look at. If your a musician you might be interested in tracker music like OctaMED. The thing with modern day computing. The journey is shorter and quicker to get to your result than it will be with an Amiga. But if you keep at it and spend time on it you can find that different way Amiga does things than modern PC's. Hope you enjoy the journey. :-)
Loved my a500 mini got me back into the Amiga.. I recently upgraded my setup to a mister pi running Amigavision it’s fantastic
Not played with Amigavision yet will have to check it out.
Hi Mikey - trying to set up Fsuae on a HP Probook - got as far as putting the install int disk 0 (About 11 mins into the vid) , you then say Ctrl Amiga Amiga to load it - which keys are you pressing on the keyboard as i cannot get it to load ? (ex windows laptop running ubuntu)
Hi. So it uses a regular Xbox controller? I guess any Xbox controller?
Yes, as long as your modern PC can use it then the emulator will use it too.
My older brother owned one, so I played the games but never owned one. So I’m somewhere between a cool spot and a superfrog. :-)
Great video, it helped me setup workbench plus extras, but I have a problem. I set up for a 4BG file on fs-uae as I bought a brand new 4GB card, but I cannot install the image as it says I need 4.3GB of space, but I'm confused as to why. My created HFD file actually reads as 4.29GB on my Mac, not 4GB as I setup for. I really don't want to do it all over again, so do you know of any solutions for this ?
Same here!
I still write in Superbase. Contact me if you are in the same code :)
Haven't recap my A1200 yet, so I have been rocking the A500mini since launch and am very much looking forward to the Amiga maxi releasing next year 🤘🏻
That's cool you have the advanced Amiga. I have the standard one
@RichPT I started with c64 then A500 then I upgraded to The A1200 when that came out 🤘🏻
You presented perfect instruction. Thx
I'm using an A500 Mini with AGS and it's fantastic
Cooll!!😊
Nice to see you are coming back All the best, stay strong and keep it up!
Great to see you back with a new video. I hope the personal issues are resolved. All the best for the holidays and new year.
Can’t to see new Amiga content from you.
Hey! Good to see you again! Love your videos, I felt like you had a bit of a break in doing them? In any case - great to see new video from you mate!
Good information and instructions, thanks! I got back into Amiga heavily this year. I’ve had an A600 since it was released and upgraded it too, but finally this summer I got my dream machine, the A1200. Bought it for a very reasonable price from a friend and it came with the Blizzard 1230 as well. Got it recapped and maintenanced, with an IDE/SD adapter. How nice to finally be gaming with the A1200! I also got a new case and keyboard for it. Nothing wrong with emulation or FPGA, but for me it’s a joy to use real hardware, with a CRT of course.
Great to hear you got your dream machine. A1200 is an awesome machine and with an accelerator it gives you alot of options. Glad you got it recapped and a new case is a great idea, I might need to check those out for mine.
Hey what games are you playing on your a1200?
Great to see you back. Looking forward to your 2025 content.
Thank you Mislav. Really appreciate it. :-)
Glad to se you back - always enjoy your videos and often go back to them for reference!
I have been dealing with alot of personal issues this year. It meant I wasn't in the right mind frame to make videos. I know that this video will not be up to my normal standard but it's a start and I wanted to get something out before the end of the year. I'm sorry to my dedicated supporters who have been donating and not getting anything in return. I really appreciate you. I look forward to saying goodbye to 2024 and for things to hopefully get better and get back to making videos which I did enjoy.
Ow, I see - I just thought you took a break... Well, I hope 2025 will proof to be better to you in all possible aspects! Much love from Mexico!
It seems these instructions do not work with AGS v2.6. The AGS_FS-UAE.zip file does not exist in the archive.
A solution to the problem would be helpful.
2.6 just came out. It has support for the Amiga 500 Mini.
I'm going to try this as soon as I have time. If this works, that would be remarkable given the issues we always used to have with the Datasette heads going out of alignment over time, requiring manual head adjustment using a small screwdriver.
I actually had a similar reason for wanting an Alphasmart of some model, something a little more spartan that doesn't have an addiction to the internet. For now, I have an old laptop whose WiFi adapter remains off and PyRoom on Linux for that purpose, but the additional battery life would be a diving save for any bouts of writer's block I might encounter.
Will it work with an original Amiga 500 internal floppy drive?
Amiga emulation be like: Step 1: Install winUAE Step 2: Buy expensive af roms (or keygen it like a boss)
I remember a program called Vizawrite. It was one of the early text processors, when printers were controlled by raw text lines plus markup options.
Does it support save states?
its WHD Load, i think no...
@@xomkong It does but it's a bit glitchy, you have to be in the specific game before loading
Thank you for the video. I guess I'm a superfrog as I had an A600 back in the day and just want something I can play the old amiga games on. However amongst my favourites were lemmings and lotus turbo challenge. Is it possible to download extra games such as these to play?
Thats stunning👍
needs to boot to workbench
when i want to extract the whdload lha x whdload_usr_small.lha it bring me a Message.... lha: unknown command
I loved Twinworld by Blue Byte. A very lovely designed platformer where the main character is aging while progressing. Nice music and sfx too.
Massively useful! Thank you! Most things I know about WinUAE is from your videos :) Hope you are ok and will keep on doing videos. Sort of silent in the next few months... Greetings from Mexico!
Thanks for the video, mate!
