    I want to give a big thank you. I did not know exactly what this was. I followed your video - It is so easy. Thank you for making it simple for simple people like me 😔

    This is superb. I still have the WHDLoad setup that you expertly talked us through...and the Drawbridge setup to transfer from my real Amiga, another excellent tutorial from you.
    I've just installed Amiga Game Selector 2.5 and am very happy to say everything was easy, the front end is excellent and, there's a huge collection of games etc provided in the instal. I tried out a bunch of old classics I played back in the day and they all worked perfectly. So much easier than WHDLoad (though that's great for playing about with the Amiga).
    Thanks, Mikey, for the headsup...and huge thanks to Paul for developing this (donation sent).

    Thanks for this. Over the years I've tried various all-in-one packages on different platforms for both games and "modern" Workbench environments, including Amiga Forever and AmiKit on the PC and PiMiga on a Pi400. But I've always found them to be either lacking in features or too visually "busy" for me to comfortably transition from the more traditional WB3.x that I remember from the last time I used physical Amiga hardware in the late 1990s.
    And so I always fall back on WinUAE, configured to emulate the almost vanilla environment that I remember, and I still load games and demos "manually" from floppy disks, albeit virtual ones.
    But this looks intriguing. Not only the custom launcher which is beautiful in its simplicity but, perhaps even more importantly for me, the underlying Workbench. If the latter turns out to be as comfortable to use as it is to watch on this video, I can see AGS becoming my default emulated Amiga environment.

      I was also really exited about PiMiga on my Pi400. It looked like the absolute ultimate setup from few vids. So tried it and got sorely disappointed. I can appreciate tons of work done to bundle so much stuff there, but I also highly dislike that insane amount of stuff I tried from my youth ran way, way too fast and had to fiddle with settings etc. I kinda wish that A500 mini interface would be ported to Pi400, but this looks quite interesting and might try this one out. I kinda just want ready package, easy way to add stuff into library and close as possible A500 or A1200 emulation as accurate as possible (well ok, maybe floppy disks sped up 😊)

    Downloaded this recently, not done anything with it yet, lots of super helpful info here and clearly explained, thank you! I'll hopefully be playing sensible world of soccer very soon - hope it works with the joystick you were using.

    Amazing guide, thank you. One question that's not covered can you use the trainers on the games?

    FS-E coverage would be good. Question, at 8min 21sec when you load the game, you have a dark blue window with some options such as skip intro or 2nd fire button. Can you access these? When I load some games on my A500 Mini I get a similar screen. but the Mini doesn't seem to allow any input to these options. Even with the mouse and joypad connected.

    Very nice. Thank you for this useful video. I intend to try AGS on one of my real AGA Amiga in the near future. One thing I am confused about are the Kickstart Roms that are required for Whdload. Due to copyright reasons they are usually not included in these preconfigured setups and everyone has to insert their officially purchased Roms into the kickstart folder. I did not see you doing this after downloading the image so I am just wondering.

      Ok, sorry, then I must have missed the step where you copied the Kickstart Roms into the Kickstart folder. Anyway I know how to that and I was just wondering. I am looking forward to your next videos on this amazing project.

    Does the Agima Game Selector has a save state function like RetroArch?

    Is there a big lag when you use an USB joystick? On Amiga Forever the games were unplayable because of that.

    Great video Mikey. Two questions. How extensive is the games library, and how to add, for example, Zeb's WHDLOAD pack? Thank you!

    • @MikeyGRetro
      @MikeyGRetro  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for donation. It's very extensive library. I don't think you'd need to extend it.

    I am a SuperBase Programmer in New Zealand. I have a 30 year development that is an ERP used by many businesses. I am interested in collaborating with other programmers of SuperBase.

      Hi Ian, recommend checking out the EAB forums which will probably have Amiga developers old and new discussing SuperBase. I did a Serious Amiga video on databases.

    Having som issues though.
    After extracting files to my pc the AGS launches fine but when exiting the program and trying to launch AGS again I get a message as follows:
    AGS LAUNCH ERROR: No configs found.
    Using the AGS_UAE_v251

    Can you do a video for the v2.5 A500 Mini please. Other videos are either really old (1.5 or 2.0) or not A500 Mini. I already have games by WHDownload but want to see if it is worth using this instead.

    Got it working on my mini and winuae, for the life of me I just can't get it working on my 4000T. I don't know.if its the ide drivers being different, the 4000T kickstart incompatible or whatever. The same cf i made and doesn't boot on the 4000T works on plain 1200!

    Thanks. I'll try this out. I've tried using a mutilated version of Pimiga on WinUAE and I have had some trouble with it... Like, it wasn't really designed for it and it was like using someone else's Workbench... AGS looks more like the thing I need.

  • @samuelbanya
    @samuelbanya 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Is there something like this but within Workbench 3.1 itself? I have an emulated Amiga 1200 in FS-UAE, but would want this within Workbench itself.

    • @MikeyGRetro
      @MikeyGRetro  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not within Workbench. It is a pack that is designed to give you everything as easy as possible. You would start from scratch in FS-UAE. (Future video showing this) It is all running on top of it's own Workbench setup as you see towards the end of this video.

    • @samuelbanya
      @samuelbanya 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MikeyGRetro Gotcha, yeah I want something where it would just point to my directory of WHLoad games and just provide a GUI menu to double click to load within workbench itself.

      Months later after messing around with other stuff, and for anyone else, just use iGame or any preconfigured images for FS-UAE or WinUAE.

    Extracting now, question. Has any tried version 2.51 on latest firmware update for the mini?
    Update: IT WORKED!!. I am so happy :)
    Super thank you for posting this as I was not aware of AGS till a random TH-cam recommendation
    I had an A500 and an A3000 back in the early to mid 90's. Came back to the US and eventually moved onto PC games BUT always had fond memories of my Amiga and missed it. So huge emulator person (WinUEA type). Purchase my A500 Mini about 2 months ago.

    I love seeing Emerald Mines very prominently there. That’s an amazing game that everybody should play hours on.
    Is there something like this for MAME?. I always have a hard time setting up Mame need this for mame

    • @MikeyGRetro
      @MikeyGRetro  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks, I don't cover MAME on the channel and I don't think would be popular but there is hopefully other channels out there that will help with MAME as it's a very popular emulator. There are MAME packs out there and they have to match with the version of MAME your using thats a key part I know. :-)

      AGS is an Amiga application, just put all the things from this package onto your Linux machine and use Amiberry instead of WinUAE.. or install / flash PiMiga for x86. You can also just mount the PiMiga image and copy all the required files over I guess, no need to install the whole PiMiga thing onto a dedicated drive.
