Now my FS-uae acts just about like an Amiga (whatever model I choose) it multi tasks and the main WB screen and the screens behind it move up and down, plus it mult tasks which is it plays music, and plays the quiet boring games like Shanghia, Soliton anc crazy 8 just like a regular Amiga, only thing I am missing is booting straight into the Amiga Model Work Bench screen that I want to use.
does this multitask, in other words can I play music while I play Shanghia, or Soliton, also can I have Pen Pal data base and Organizer running in different windows, and can I switch between windows, like if I want to place an appointment in organizer or a new entry into my database, can I move the Amiga main screen window downwards like a real Amiga to see or use the windows behind it. Now can you do all this with the music still playing? You know act just like a real Amiga, only time it quits playing music is when I put in a demo video, or play a game, then soon as I quit playing a game or demo the music comes back on.
Hi Mike, thanks for taking on this challenge again. I am so pleased to see that it worked out much better this time. As you know, I had HstWB working before but I agree with you that it can be a bit of a challenge and a chore to use. I currently use FS-uae on a 13yo HP Compaq 615 with Linux Mint 20 xfce which can boot directly into any Amiga workbench I choose. I like the fact that when I quit FS-uae (F12 - exit) I have a linux desktop to help organise any files that I need and a working PC. Plus I can re-open FS-uae and benefit from it's great ability as an Amiga gaming console. HstWB is a really clever piece of work by the designer and I respect him for that. It is just a little over-complicated and prone to errors during the set-up for my liking. Maybe better documentation would help. Or, of course, people can watch your videos which are a great example and demonstration of how to use it properly. Thanks again.
I'm glad too. That sounds like a nice setup. I have repaired many HP Compaq 610 laptops for work so familar with that model. Linux Mint is a good choice to get the most out of the machine. They do get hot. I agree HstWB is an amazing achievement for how complicated a process it is trying to simplify. It still brings it's own complexes but I think it speeds thing up if you did it all manually.
Alright I use linux mint 21.2 with FS--uae, I can only boot into the FS-uae setup screen where I usually choose to use an Amiga 4000, 1200 or 500 then hit start to do that. Did I miss something on the FS-uae for booting right into the Main Amiga WB screen.
Oh man... This is so close what I'd like for my 400. But I'd like to have normal desktop and from there launch that....Interface? Cause I'd like to have normal rpi desktop and also use it for c64 emulation and possibly some low grade dos stuff. Apparently this is now quite suitable for that. I like Pimiga, but imo it tries to make way too much happen and many game emulations run on wrong speed etc. I'd just like to emulate like A500 and A1200 and maybe CD32. That's it. Wait, hold on. Just noticed at 18:30 raspberry pi os installation. How does it function, have you tested? This might afterall be the thing I've been looking to.
You can still do a setup without AmigaOS 3.2.2. Copy over the workbench 3.1 disks and roms instead. In one of the menu selections I recommend choosing BetterWB that updates workbench 3.1 with handy tools ands libraries.
You can install Raspberry Pi OS desktop version and then install Amiberry. You won't have all the fancy HSTWB stuff but with some more time you can get to the same destination. :-)

Dude! You listened! Thank you, m8, you rule!
No problem. I said I'd do it. And the raspberry pi is still in one piece so bonus.
HSTwb is not my favourite tool but hopefully it helps you out. :-)

Looking forward to digging into this!

Damnit. Wasted way more than hour to this until I realized I'd need Hyperion AmigaOS files. Should've watched vid fully before hand....
