11 Random Tips to Survive (And Thrive) in University
Please enjoy this conversation about college with some Black Ops Zombies gameplay on Five! I recorded this when I was pretty tired, so apologies for the tired rambling.
Although college is not for everyone and there are many things wrong with it, I found it valuable to make friends, learn a few things, get a job, and have some fun along the way despite the cost.
This was just my experience and it might be different for others. I for sure messed up a lot of times and am in no way promoting reckless or irresponsible behavior!

I'm 23, I pretty much lived in video games over the last 10 years and it's hard to quit for good since that's a large part of my identity, I often binge watch TH-cam videos I remember from my childhood, but it's super unhealthy. I just wish we didn't mold ourselves around something that would become so meaningless..

Hi mate, sending a message from the UK. Just wanted to let you know how much your videos have meant to me. They’ve had a huge personal impact. I’m in my 20s and have been through my fair share of ups and downs. I’ve seen a few therapists, but no one seems to speak from the same perspective as you (I know you’re not a doctor , dw!). Are you thinking about setting up any other social media channels?

The cod gameplay is smart because many want to watch videos on how to be successful but nobody wants to just see words on a screen for 10 minutes straight. With the gameplay, most already know what cod zombies is therefore It grabs our attention quickly and intriguing us with his knowledge on how to be successful; going straight to the point; and for the viewer getting best of both worlds which is watching what is appealing to the eye and then the commentary to the mind. Smart video, W🙏🏻.

“I wish there was a way of knowing you’re in the good old days, before you’ve actually left them” Great video. Sums up perfectly what most males in their 20s are currently experiencing. A longing for that feeling of being a kid again. The key to life if someone were to ask me is to live every day as if you were kid. Pick up cool rocks and throw them, try to hangout or talk to your friends and family everyday, say yes to new opportunities.

44 here and I see a lot of 20-somethings in the comments. Believe me, the nostalgia is only going to grow stronger. Your life is going to change here quickly. Everything you think that's going to last forever.....it's not going to. Friends, girlfriends, parties, family, feeling like you have lots of time, all of that fades quickly. You're 25 and you blink and you're staring at your mid 40s. Life moves fast, and as you get older, the ride only speeds up, and you do everything you can just to hang on. Take the time to look around and really take in the moments. Enjoy the people that are around you, because you're going to start losing them. Either to lost connections or death. Look, it's not all bad here, I like my life now, but there will never be another time in your life like your youth. Please, believe me, do everything in your power to take it in and enjoy the ride. Before you know it, you'll see a movie, play a game, hear a song, etc that will be extremely bittersweet as it brings you onto that nostalgic ride of you looking back wondering where all the time went.

jesus christ this is the most bog standard “job advice” slop i’ve seen in a while. yes, we all know you can move to 6 figures relatively easy when you’re in CS with a family member in the industry. this is LinkedIn levels of garbage. Genuine advice for anyone who reads this; you basically NEED either a trade or college to get anywhere near 6 figures. The most realistic, but most boring, advice for someone who’s coming out of the mud would be 2 years community college (usually only costs a couple grand for the whole thing), work your ass off to keep your GPA above a 4.0 and get involved in extracurriculars. Business clubs are a great way to meet already established people and to try and get your foot in the door with local success. Also, make sure you’re using ALL your resources in college. Use your community college as a jumping off point in a university (if you’ve been involved and have above a 4.0, you’ll definitely get a full ride or at least a majority paid for) and from there just do more of the same. If you land in STEM or anything related to computers, you will be breaking six figures by at least your mid 30s at latest. To OPs credit, insurance agencies pay a SHIT ton of money for cyber/administrative roles.

I'm also 27 and had struggled by extreme nostalgia. I couldn't enjoy the present because the past seemed so much better. My best tip is to do new things. Get outside and be active. Go fishing, go on hikes, play a sport, etc. Breaking your routine is what makes new memories and experiences.

My advice; 1. Get a full time job in trades; 50-60k salary. 2. Multiple sidehustles; flipping cars, selling products, doing backyard work etc. 3. Stocks; Learn to leverage your money in NASDAQ, 5-20% of monthly increase. 4. Start a company. 5. Learn to save money. 6. Live with minimal means.

there is literally no way you’re hitting 5-20% increases on your stocks a month. the most talented stock traders i know would be billionaires if they could hit returns like that. i don’t think you know what your talking about.

No. It has nothing to do with my childhood. It has everything to do with greed, gluttony and not caring. It has everything to do with the fact that entertainment used to be great because they had a goal to make it great. They don't anymore. They care about numbers and quality control. They used to care about their consumers but now they don't. They don't even care about the product

Summer of 2011 was a wonderful time with this game, I wish I could go back and just play it again with the friends I used to play with online. I had a group where we were so consistent on communication even when some of us were on vacation during this period, I would be up from 6 am till noon playing this game every day of the summer with them with constant hours of matchmaking including modes like tdm, domination, search and destroy, and occasionally demolition. I am now 28 years old looking back at this game when I used to play it as a teenager and wish I could go back. I have a job now and playing video games has been a lot harder to do since I usually come home tired and ready for bed. I only talk to maybe one person now from this group because the rest either had kids, moved away, or have other responsibilities at hand or switched interests. I think it’s great to reflect on our childhood memories like I had with this game and reminisce on the good times and bad. Mw2, you made lots of high school memories for me that I’ll never forget.

These comments have me tearing up. I just turned 30 and I have a happy life. I always think back to the run I had on Call of Duty. Starting with Cod4 which was my first experience in 2007, I sunk 40 days into that game and got 10th prestige. Could it be because I had the time back then? Less worries? Less struggles? You bet ya, I found something new and I directed my energy to get good and that carried through BO2 when I gave up on Cod. It’s heartwarming to know we all experienced the same thing and that our generation can communicate these experiences like no generation before us. It’s been great boys, next check in is 2050 🫡

Starting a family just because you feel purposeless is toxic. You cant rely on your kids to make your life better. Having children is extremely expensive and you are taking care of a human life. Most parents are abusive to some extent. I think most parents dont realise the responsibility of raising children. Often parents just put their unfullfillment on their own children or think that materialism is the only thing thats needed to make their kiddos grateful or they force them into things like religion, are not tolerant of their sexuality and so on. Having children just becauseaccording to data it makes you happier is reckless!
