I recently found your channel and working a 9-5 as a mechanic has been as you say “soul crushing”. I’ve always had the passion to make more money but never really knew how to apply it to a point where I’m no longer at a job like this and through watching your videos I’m hoping I’ll be able to apply your teachings into my life for the better. It’s hard to find people out here now that aren’t trying to sell you a class or just filling videos with meaningless info just to hit a certain length video for ads, so to find a channel like yours is VERY refreshing. This is probably gonna be one of the few channels I keep notifications on for
Keep your head up man. The job can be soul crushing, try to take advantage of the benefits of it while you can and work on your dreams on the side. The hard work is worth it with a good plan. I won't be selling courses on this channel lmao. I've even gotten emails about people saying I should be selling courses. I appreciate your support and will continue to make videos as good as i can :)
I love cars and doing basic maintenance on my own but I’ve been told and heard from multiple people that once you make it a form of work it isn’t as exciting anymore and becomes more of a chore to do outside of work
Finally, someone says it with the insurance when you go your own way, and the amount of hours you will probably need to put in. Too many people I know personally think that starting a business is the easy ticket out
I definitely support taking the risk! As long as it's not done recklessly and you at least have some passion/idea for what you want to do instead of going in blindly
I think most people should start with a 9-5 job. If you manage to find something you'd rather do, then do it as a hobby until you can realistically make it a career. Success requires stability.
I don’t think your goal should necessarily be to make your hobbies a career. You have to be realistic about your capabilities. You should like your work but you should also know your capable of doing it full time efficiently. We all like gaming here but as a full time job it’s not viable for most.
hey man! I love your content, I'm from Wisconsin myself and have similar takes and experiences as I've gone from wondering what to do in life as a HS student, to finishing college, and now I've been a 9-5er for 6 years now. I'm inspired to make videos myself, what you're doing here is very helpful!
Kind of stumbled onto this channel randomly through a suggested video and have been loving the content, very relaxing, and an interesting POV many things affecting young people. Currently a college student working my way through a health leave of absence due to medical issue. Been great to watch the videos and hear your takes on different things. Definitely continue to tune in.
I would love a regular 9-5! I work like 11-7, 12-9:30 10-6:30. It’s like the middle of the day. I would love to be done by 5 and home by 5:30! I’m overworked and underpaid and will be looking for a new job in 2025!
My dad says that I can do whatever I want as long as it pays the bills! He followed his dreams by dedicating his life to the Army. No money there but he loves it and he will be proud as long as I am happy working.
The reason most of the 9-5 workers are miserable is because they don't like what they do and they don't have a purpose. This is why i don't like when parents tell their kid they need a degree in whatever to be 'safe', even when they don't know what they want. They end up studying stuff they hate, and they end up in a workfield they hate. No wonder you hate your job. Should you become an entrepreneur instead? Go ahead, but do you know what business you want to start? Are you willing to work 60 hours a week to get it running? Are you willing to use your savings to invest en get into debt? Becoming self employed is not the easy way out. Your way out is purpose. Because without it, you hate everything.
Hey Brotha, I’ve been in the shadows lurking and watching your videos. And as a young man learning about Finance while watching bo1 or mw2 gameplay is very refreshing and I genuinely enjoy the learning process. 100K soon for both of us! 😀
Both do not have to exclude each other. Taking Risks after creating a Financial Security and having less Responsibilities to bear like Children or Mortage. I am gonna get a Safe Job first and slowly learning things i need to be independent. So i always have a Backup Job if i fail really hard.
I think it's very important to say that in order to create a business you're gonna have to spend money to make money. Great video WhyLearn, top notch tips!
Man oh man, such a good breakdown of the pro's and con's. Literally recorded my story on this last night. Id argue for anyone wondering, my opinion is if you can either replace your monthly salary with your "entrepreneur"/ self employed income and/ or 8-12 months of expenses saved up, go for it! The upside, especially in your 20's far outweighs the downside IMO. You WILL work more (In the beginning before you have systems and a team), but if its for yourself, trust me, there's no better feeling. You sometimes don't even notice it because the incentive is huge. Not even counting the freedom and more $ that comes along eventually. The risk can pay off gentlemen.
Excited to watch your video on it. When i was younger I always wanted to be an entrepreneur but I just didn't have the passion or skills at the time. To put up with the early phases of business you for sure need passion to carry you through the hard times. Once it succeeds - it can be the most freeing feeling
Unless you’re an incredibly lucky individual, stay in a 9-5. If you’re asking whether or not you should work a 9-5, work a 9.-5, especially if you have been doing it for 3+ years. 2025 will be my 4 year self employed, I’ve been very profitable and most people are simply not cut out for this lifestyle.
8:46 currently here in life, been in solar about 2 months with pretty much no knowledge about it but all my coworkers have years of experience and put me on some new game every day
Great channel my friend. Relate too much to this video lol Got a degree in accounting, did the 9-5 for 2 years (felt no purpose) and was not what wanted to do for my whole life However I made enough money to eventually leave accounting for a year to see if I could make this TH-cam thing happen Rest is history. Nothing wrong with betting on yourself, but make sure you will put work the in to chase your dream
Man, we are all too similar. Taking the high paying job but the lack of passion wears on you over time. I love the NFL content(go packers). You seem to be in great shape with the subs and viewership to be able to have a nice income! I hope to get to your position someday!
I Appreciate that! I hope your channel grows more and more by the day The packers may or may not have done very well in my simulating the nfl playoffs video
A big thing for going your own way for a career is budgeting. You have to remember that you aren’t getting that paycheck every few weeks. But, you can charge a fee that makes you feel like you’re getting what your time is worth. As long as you can budget well, the lack of income stability will not be an issue. Second, job stability is tricky. Clients come and go when you’re on your own. But the way it was described to me once was: “When you have 10 clients and one of them leaves, you still have 9 that are bringing you income while you find a new 10th. When you’re working elsewhere, when you lose that job you lose ALL of your income. Which one sounds more stable to you?” That brought a lot of perspective.
Yeah i agree job stability isn't what it used to be. But a lot of people underestimate how hard it is to get to a point where you actually have 10 paying clients to create more stability on your own
Hey man! Just found you through the algo. Its such a pleasure watching some MW2 chill commentaries brings me back to the good ol days! I'm stuck between making the decision myself it's an intricate dichotomy choosing between the job/remaining an entrepreneur but I believe with time your values change so you naturally make the decision. Btw do you script your videos? Keep it going enjoying the content 💯
yeah i go back and forth a lot too! Would remaining an entrepreneur be youtube for you? or another thing? I usually have a general outline with what I want to say but not a. full script. I am trying to sound more natural, which I'm still bad at lol
@whylearntech YT and mainly another thing. Still trying to figure out what direction I want to take both. What about you ? If you're doing bullet points & just going off the top of the dome you're very talented & able to articulate your thoughts pretty well. It's something I'm personally working on as well that's why I asked.
both take a huge mental toll, i would say only pursue the passion project if it takes more than ur regaular 8-10 hours, if u badly need those hours and are able make more than the main job go for it, make sure u invvest and save money for the long run tho as the job market is increidbly hard these days and if it doesnt succeed you will have to go back to it.
I work a 9-5 (a 6-4:30) and I have to say, it’s perfect for my situation. 3 day weekends every weekend, a position that’s pretty low stress, and a pension on the back end. Would like to get back into coaching some day though
We should all play MW2 from 9-5 so that we can ensure the game doesn’t die! 😂 Love seeing Emergency Airdrop as a killstreak! It’s important to find a good balance. A 9-5 can offer stability and benefits, and as long as it’s not soul-crushing and you make time for friends, family, and hobbies, it’s perfectly fine long-term. Chasing your dreams is also awesome, but you gotta be smart about it and not just mess around. Otherwise, you’ll set yourself back. I think the sweet spot is working a full-time job and pursuing a side-hustle around your passion. Then if the side-hustle pays off, you can eventually leave your full-time job if it makes financial sense.
I for sure agree with that. A 9-5 can suck in the wrong situation, but if you find one you can put up with, it can probably help you out a lot in the long term as long as you are making time to chase your dreams on the side. Also, I've binged a lot of your videos lol. How many tries did it take you to shoot down that AC130 with the pred missile? lol
@ at least several dozen tries! Gotta quickly orient yourself with the minimap, steer precisely, and hope you see the AC130. Even more difficult (and lucky) is taking it out with an RPG!
Business takes time/money to get started. At the beginning you will prolly be working for free or spending lots of $ to set up. But if you put the work in everyday eventually it will pay off. Problem is very few can do that without becoming demotivated
One thing about pursuing entrepreneurship is its alot more demanding then working a standard 9 to 5, especially in the beginning. If you want the easy route i say 9 to 5 is best, if your looking for passion then entrepreneurship. Either way, your gonna be miserable, at least from my experience.
I appreciate that!! I actually made a video on this about 3 weeks ago, check it out. Lots of hard work and consistency I’d say, but much more detail in the video. It’s about growing a TH-cam channel. Good luck starting your new channel!
Hey I love your videos! I'm a compsci student myself and I want to pick your brain (if you think its a good vid idea) on the concept of job markets. Theres a ton of doom and gloom about tech degrees and as someone who wanted to pursue software engineering or cybersecurity as a career for a long time I want to know what you think, thanks!
Hey man, love the content! Keep it up. Just curious, you wouldn’t happen to be an AEW fan? Reason i ask is because you use the same intro phrase they do on Dynamite, being “It’s Wednesday. You know what that means!” Hahahahh I am a nerd. Take care homie
My 9-5 is soul sucking. The job itself sucks and it feels like I am not contributing to the world at all. The most useless and unnecessary career ever (Inside sales). I wouldn’t mind these hours if I was doing something where I believed in/cared about the mission. I want to go military or law enforcement but the application process is taking forever due to medical history. At 25, I feel like I’m running on a hamster wheel. Getting nowhere. Stuck in mediocrity.
I need advice I’m kind of in a great spot and don’t wanna waste the potential. I’m 22 and I work as a welder I make 700 a week after taxes and only working 40 hrs. Me and my dad own a house together and I pay 1k a month to my parents helping them with bills and the mortgage. I drive a hooptie that I own fully and have 3k in savings. What can I do in the spot that I’m in now to make good investments and making more money, preferably without putting in 80hrs a week. I’ve done that before which is what helped me get the house but not what I wanna do for 5-10 years to be set.
Idk why i just feel like nothing will be fulfilling to me, maybe thats because im 20 and haven’t experienced much so I might be harsh on myself, I just like travelling, and doing my own thing but i feel pressure and anxiety within myself to do something but i don’t know, do i just enjoy myself travelling going gym ect or do I stress myself to find the job/career i want to do, or im i just still young (asking for advice from the older people here).
I’m 20 same feelings as you. You are not alone… I believe it’s the process of mental development as you are figuring yourself out.. nothing wrong with seeking advice and just trying things out… if you don’t try you will never know.. but I know the feeling the anxiety of not knowing what you want to do almost makes you not want to try anything.. but if you have to try to find out if it’s for you.
my problem is im 19, i know what i need to do for my business, but the main problem i'm havin for me is capital, without it your hands are really tied, hence why i'll just focus on landing a a real 9-5 first.

I think you would find it meaningful

Mechanic is good job man? Not alot of people can fix there own car

One of the best parts of my week is these videos!
one of the best parts of my week is when awesome people like you watch them too!!
be an entrepreneur, take the RISK its worth it! - NO risk NO Rari

Needed this
I'd say it varies on who you are. But the 9-5 does give you money to save money if you can
It’ll be hilarious if I pass the coding interview only to be begging to leave my 9-5 later 😂😂

Nothing wrong with a 9-5 wait untill your main thing pop up
Feel like I’ve failed
One day, I'll edit a YTP of you.

Getting your CDL can be a good thing for you.
I’m 22 and currently getting my CDL.
It will open a lot of doors and can be taken a lot of ways.

Kind of everything you do is your own way 🤔
A 9-5 suppose to be temporary to make money to build your business
my problem is im 19, i know what i need to do for my business, but the main problem i'm havin for me is capital, without it your hands are really tied, hence why i'll just focus on landing a a real 9-5 first.
