      @@AnywhereGoes it's not so much the current situation..but simply that I would love for you to learn more on Aboriginal culture as We Are the Oldest Living Culture on Earth and there are many sites around Australia that will completely amaze u....such as the Gosford Glyphs in NSW where there's Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics carved into rock which has been dated possibly 4500yrs old...yes the Ancient Egyptians came here and we shared much of our knowledge with them... this is also proven by the fact that they found Boomerangs in a hidden chamber of King Tut's tomb and the Egyptians called them "foreigners weapon"... plus much more ♥️🖤💛🦘🦘 but I really enjoy watching ur videos they made my Country look so beautiful sumthn I may have taken for granted ♥️🖤💛

    It's always great to hear and see what visitors think of our city. We live here, so it's like, yeah, whatever. For example, most in Perth complain incessantly about our public/metro transport, but I recently saw another Canadian TH-camr do a critique of our suburban train system (existing and under construction) and rated it highly compared to some other comparable cities. An outsider's viewpoint is always interesting. So, yep, overall the pretty city in the west isn't a bad place at all. Thanks for visiting.

    • @AnywhereGoes
      @AnywhereGoes  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Tom here, I am obsessed with transit systems and seeing ones like in Perth, that are built and run to actually help their people is incredible! The CAT alone blew my mind!

    • @morpheusmedia_au
      @morpheusmedia_au หลายเดือนก่อน

      most people don't know worse so they complain about little things, it's all relative. Transperth is decent in my opinion, can go essentially everywhere metro pretty easily, facilities are usually clean enough and prices aren't too bad especially if you use smartrider or have concession, rolling out a new system soon too.

    It's really interesting seeing people from the America's coming to Perth as the vast majority go to the east coast, rare indeed and glad you enjoyed it. Next time hire a camper van and explore the regions. You have the Coral coast or the Kimberley to the north. South you have the most stunning seas scapes imaginable, giant Karri and tingle tree Forrests, world class winaries and inland winding rivers, beautiful and quaint townships like Nannup and Bridgetown or you can head inland to the Goldfields situated on the edge of the deep red soils of the desert. You have Wave Rock, the wheat belt and Kalgoorlie, a large outback township where you will find some remarkable Colonial and Federation architecture, gold mines and the gateway to the Western and Simpson deserts. Incredibly remote desert towns like Laverton and Leonora for the most intrepid explorers. There are a lot of tribal Aboriginie's who live in nearby communities and the trip will leave you in no doubt you have experienced the Australian outback. My favourite spot out there is Lake Ballard where a British artist named Gorringe place titanium statues of the local Aboriginie's from the small town of Menzies intermittently within this huge salt lake and they look like the are walking towards you. If there has been some rain and there is water in the lake something special happens. At night if it's cloudless you climb part way at the mound that sits just off shore. The land horizon of the lake is not visible, barely visible during the day. As you stand there you have stars horizon to horizon and the mirror image of the stars surround you in the still water. You really have the sensation you have a front row seat on a star ship because that is all you can see, millions of stars from above your head to your toes. A camper van is the way to see the state, very safe.

      That all sounds amazing! We were limited this time but we definitely want to visit again and spend time exploring more of the state. Thank you so much for the suggestions!

    I am an aussie but lived in other countries since I was 23. It's always nice to see things from another persons perspective. I laughed at the "2nd" emu bush. It does look like the back of an emu.
    When growing up, Perth was just too far away, considered boring & not worth the 4hr flight unless working there. It began to gain the attention of the rest of the country in the late 80's.
    I'm vegetarian but... did you really eat a COLD aussie meat pie- as your first? OMG! LOL

    Great vlog & a small snippet of what the Perth has to offer. The city stretches some 123kms along the coast & 62kms inland and the beaches & sunsets are breathtaking. Climate is perfect and WA is the 2nd largest State on the planet (Sakha in Russia being the largest). The WA coastline stretches some 13,000kms excluding the many islands (21,000kms including islands) so a massive place to explore. The contrasting landscape from spectacular Esperance in the south to majestic Broome in the Kimberley's up north is extrordinary but us locals take it all for granted
    Hope you got to spend a decent bit of time experiencing how we live in our most isolated city in the world (just how we like it and our blessed lifestyle is our best kept secret) Enjoy

      Thank you! Had we not been working Canadian hours and had a vehicle, we would've LOVED to venture out to see more of WA. We drove 2500km/30hr to the Yukon in Canada and that's about the same as Perth to Kimberly, so that would've been an easy sell of a road trip for us! We'd love to come back one day and do it proper, so here's hoping 🤞 And I do feel blessed to be let in on the best kept secret that is the awesomeness of WA! - Angel

    I've just discovered you guys. I'm a Canadian of a certain age, (that's boomer for 'older guy'). I came to Australia in the mid 60s are a 16 year old, and settled in Adelaide, South Australia. I fell in love with both the city, and the state of South Australia. Mind you, the first five years was a near vertical learning curve. When my two sons were young we'd go camping as a family every school break and the summer holidays. Not to some organized camp ground, but out to the middle of nowhere. And if there is one thing Australia has in abundance, it's middle of nowhere. To camp in the desert in the cooler, dry months, lying in a swag at night looking up into the heavens, and seeing millions upon millions of stars, is a spiritual experience. Don't just see the cities and the usual tourist attractions. See also the Outback. Go to Uluru, see Cairns and the Barrier Reef. Take a guided camping trip through Kakadu. If you are up to it, go see Tasmania in a car. Driving on the left is not that hard. I do it all the time.

    Ok, if you ever get back to Australia you have to try the meat pie again. Firstly it must be hot and they are way better bought from a bakery. The final thing is a lot of people eat it with tomato sauce on top. Some of the more specialty pies, say like a curry pie you might not put tomato sauce on. You'll just have to try it out to see if you like it. I love it. Tomato sauce is similar to Ketchup.

    It's a huge shame our current Lord Mayor wants to destroy Langley Park. We get told by many around the World, not to get rid of it because we are one of the only cities in the World that still has a grassed area to its doorstep. It's one of the many reasons why people love Perth.

      I know right, how dare they destroy it by adding trees, lights, entertainment for kids, and underground parking for access while still keeping a lot of the grass. Totally. I am from Sydney and I love travelling to Perth but not for living. Though I can totally see the perks, Perth is amazing. However every cities in Australia is as pretty as Perth but with different flavours.

      We both work full-time and hold a really tight budget. It's not easy but it's worth it
