I had a test drive on the Sym Adx 125 but could not get over the lack of power, i ended up with a 350cc Honda Forza. Fuel consumption is very close to a 125 but with a vario upgrade i now do 0-62 in 8.2 seconds. Top speed is not very impressive at about 100 mph but that does mean i can easily overtake when i unintentionally end up on a highway. I definitely recommend trying a 300-350cc scooter before buying a 125!! 9:57 Exactly. With a 125 you try to keep up with traffic. With a 300/350 you are ahead of traffic.

Referring to the engine revving lazy , the exhaust & euro 5 lean mixture is the cause of that .

The feel of heaviness of this motorcycle is maybe because due being top Heavy perhaps 🤔, more than the older models?

They'll be turning you away at the border soon, bringing the rain with every visit 😅 Stu Fillingham was talking about the Enfield's running a whole lot better after a few thousand miles on the clock, probably no different with this new 450 engine. I wasn't a fan style wise of the original Himalayan, preferred the look of the Scram. They're supposed to be rugged I guess, it's what they're designed for, but this tank just looks odd, especially in matt magnolia by Dulux 😮 (other paint brands are available)

Great video Gilly . I love a long stand. Nice bike but not for me . Having said that I would love a go on one.

As a lover of single cylinder bikes, this thing still vibrates way too much and feels like a very small capacity bike. Changed mine for a Shotgun 650, really enjoying having the 650 engine... again!

You brought out the good and bad for road work but because you didn't want to listen too much to 'others', one brilliant globe trotter who has lived with the 411 since it was first sold was not that happy about it when off-road, and thought it a poor bike to follow the original! I tried in the showroom last week and was shocked at the top heavy balance, a sure recipe for much dropping!

Royal enfeild used the engine as part of the frame so it’s caused vibration at certain speeds and revs their engineers might have to look in to this for sales reasons plus make a longer stand besides that it’s good value it dose every thing it says on the tin jimmy Aust

Not sure about the 450 🤔 are they discontinuing the 411 ?

The new one does not feeling heavier for sure... I think the old one gets points for being a tractor in offroad scenes. But other than that the new one beats the old one in all other aspects.

I have not ridden the 450 yet but I have sat on one and pushed it about. It feels like a ponderous lump to me and very top heavy. I have Moto Guzzi Mille GT 40 odd kilos heavier than the 450 but seems easier to push around and definitely better-balanced feet down and off the side stand. I also have a 411 which is much easier to manage in the static situation than my limited experience with the 450. I am an old bugger so managing the bike when at a standstill and pushing them around the garage is getting much more important to me than the dynamic on-road performance.

They look better than the 411’s with the extra tech but £2000 difference on the new price is quite a lot. My Taffy would never pay the extra. Yes he’s tight but he’s sensible

Its the ugliest bike I think I've ever seen. What were they thinking with that fuel tank, that round display and that pathetically small front screen!?!?!? Your comments about the 411 cutting out - mine never has, but it always feels like a bag of bolts. I think the build quality on the old one is really bad, although I've got a TEC cam and other mods so 30bhp and it will sit at 70mph happily.

Great comparison review, Gilly. I don't have experience of the Liberty or Medley myself, however elsewhere on the internet, the Medley has competed well with other scooters. Large wheel size for both is an advantage (16" front, 14" rear.) The Liberty is air cooled. I have owned the Vespa Primavera with the same iGet engine. Great around town. No stop start unlike the Medley with its water-cooled engine. Buyers of 125cc scooters generally do not buy to do out of town journeys. If you are going to do some 60mph travelling, obviously the Medley is better. The greater underseat storage space on the Medley, is an important consideration.

I get 70 out of mine no struggle but I’ve also had 85 leaning forward still could have got more and that’s completely standard

So if u got a full car licence but ride 125 with And L plate I can go on a motorway

I got a Medley and it does everything. Gone 2 up regularly, done Motorway to Leeds and A580 to Liverpool, B-road trip to Germany and back. Not in the fast lane but it's comfy year round. With the underseat storage, the bag hook and a top box I can do the weekly family shop. Decent suspension and large wheels so pot holed roads hills and light offroad been OK also. No issues in past 2 years and great support from Youles in MCR. Wouldn't choose the Liberty though. Air cooled so it'll run out of puff quicker, smaller too. Compare the Beverly 400 if you get a chance. The Medley can handle most of what you'd throw at it, but the Bev has enough power to do it well.

Yes. I think the only reason Honda tops the charts with their PCX is lack of brand recognition and a lack of dealers. The names are awful too. I think I have said that more than once here. EDIT: For those that don't know these are Aprilla's and Vespa's in a different body. EDIT 2: And there are S versions. EDIT 3: I don't shout about under seat storage. I just type really heavily.

If I was after a 125 scooter as my only transport, I would choose the more powerful Medley . If just to use as a local runabout to save dragging out a larger motorcycle out the garage ,it would be the Liberty . The only downsides could be getting hold of Piaggio. parts quickly , I have heard tales of owners waiting ages for piaggio parts & these models are not as popular as Piaggios Vespa in the U.K.

I love a scooter me. Every time I go to Benidorm I have to rent one. Me and fat @taffy2wheels on the same bike is loads of fun 😂

It’s styled on the S2 li TV Lambretta, that’s why the front mudguard is the way it is. I have the Lambretta S2 with a nannucci mudguard on it. I hope someone does one for the TG

looks so much better than the KTM, hopefully more reliable as well, and having looked at both brands I think the CFmoto build quality is better than KTM generally and they seem to be generally more reliable

I took one of these out for a test ride yesterday and was a little disappointed; perhaps listening to the hype too much. I was testing it because I'm knocking on now and the GS is getting a little heavy. I've bought a Voge 300 Rally from Appy's for going off road and now I'm looking for something lighter to use on the road, I've always preferred the sit up and beg type bikes as opposed to sports bikes so this bike did appeal to me. It did do a cut power momentarily thing on me but not sure if maybe I caught the gear selector slightly and the quick shifter got confused. I didn't like the windscreen; it wasn't tall enough and my face got a lot of wind in it, the screen and adjustment mechanism is to quote an outdated phrase "Very Chinesey" it looked and felt like something you win in a Christmas Cracker. I had GoldWings for 27 years so got used to smooth engines, when I changed to a GS it was obviously a big change in lumpyness but this 800MT seemed even lumpier than the GS, I have no other twin experience to compare this to so perhaps you could give me your opinion on how it compares to other twins you've ridden, I may have just been letting the revs drop too low and should have changed down. You said it is a comfortable bike but I have to say I thought the seat looked and felt like sitting on a piece of hardboard, it certainly has enough grunt for me but I do like the power of the GS when you want to get passed something quickly and will miss that when I eventually drop down in size and cc.

It needs a softer seat. I rode 100 miles last week and 120 miles yesterday. My tailbone was hurting. Other than that, its a great bike

Possibly the best looking new bike and even the aerodynamic features seem to make sense, which is quite rare nowadays. For that price it literally looks like a (fancy) steal.
