    When I was in the market for a new bike last year, I also kept running into the 40 percent more than sticker by the time you get it set up they way you want. A lot of manufacturers do this. Then the Norden 901 Expedition came out. The Expedition was $1,200 (US) more than the standard Norden 901, but it comes with everything., and I mean everything a rider typically adds on afterwards or upgrades at purchase. It comes with electronic cruise control, speed shifter, Norden's best suspension package, WP Explor and heated seats and grips, center and side stand, one of the best standard skid plates out there, rear rack, side bags, ungraded windshield and fairing (and paint scheme), full electronics ride package with all options unlocked, Bluetooth connectivity with turn-by-turn directions. I'm told that all of this would cost upwards of $4,000 (US), and I'd be swinging the wrench and wire strippers on a lot of it. I now have 1,200 miles on my 901 Expedition and pinch myself after every ride.

    Those are the cast base wheels, no extra for them. You are confusing them with the forged wheel option which is extra.

    Driving all over the world for three on my Yamaha XT 600 I met a lot of bmw drivers but sadly all of them had problems from broken frames, gearbox ( a part of the frame) broke from the framework, leaking seals inside the shaft drive and they were all complaining about this problems should not happen to an expensive bike like this. We called them BM trouble yous at that time.

      @GillyBikes  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I tried the tiger 1200 when it first arrived and I was really impressed with it. I thought it was better than the 1250 GS. It was more fun. But the R1300 is better. So I would say it sits nicely in the middle of both bikes. At this very high standard of bike though you would be happy with any of them 😎

    • @Fernando90054
      @Fernando90054 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I may have induced you in error. The BMW GS 1300 is an overall, every use bike and I decided to trade my GSA for it, considering the development of the new bike and because I concluded that the 30 L gas tank wasn’t really needed as I even on longer rides, I enjoy to stop between every 200/ 250 kms of riding. The 19 L gas tank of the GS 1300 is more than enough.
      I have another BMW. A R nine T Scrambler (2022 model and still is a new bike with 7000 kms on the odometer) but besides the roadster retro modern style of it, which I like , torquy and powerful enough, I feel a little cramped as it is a short structure of a bike as a whole it’s Beefy, nice massive, weights more or less 230 kgs, but is not big in length and the height from the seat to the ground it’s 820 mm, I flat foot it perfectly. So, I thought it could be an idea to trade it for a new Triumph Bonneville Scrambler 1200 XE and not for a Tiger. My question was concerning this Bonneville. If you have experience and personal knowledge about it. That’s what I was seeking in terms of opinion. Thanks man and sorry for misguiding in my prior comment 👍🏻

    Adventure style bikes like Jeeps or Landrovers utilitarian & not meant to be pretty . These modern BMW G S ‘s are the product of the BMW factory loosing the plot ,over the last 40 years ,& allowing computer gamer nerds ,run amok in their design departments . Any bike costing more than about 8 grand is over priced , the price the likes of BMW are charging for these is taking the pi55. They should produce models with just standard instruments & controls ,minus all that tech tat ,that owners can get their spanner’s into , like the proper old school GS ‘s . I reckon a lot of those TH-camrs ride BMWs because they are influenced by image & don’t want to be left out of the clique. From time to time they will revue budget Chinese bikes ,but it’s very rare one of them will actually buy or own one ,even then it’s only for a partner while on L plates . The conversation soon moves on to BMW ,Triumph ,Ducati or Harley all about image to enter the TH-cam ruling clique . What ever divorce present you choose , my advice is to stay grounded & keep on doing your own thing . 👍

      If the world had followed these views, or rather your advice, we might still be hanging from trees and using flintlocks today. You wouldn't be sitting in an internet discussion :-). For example, the view that anything over 8K is overpriced and that motorcycles should only be made with something basic (I'd like to know your definition of what "basic equipment" is in today's context of travel, traffic and road transport). Motorcycles are about emotion, fun, determination. Should sales be governed by your rigid ideas of "just the basics"? You may have a reasonable basis of reasoning, but the way you wrote it makes it look silly. I can almost feel the envy in this post. Presumably you don't even buy anything in a shop with regard to how it's packaged, equipped, recommended? My fifty cents only. Good luck and have many pleasant days.

When I say basic ,I mean good quality serviceable standard motorcycle controls ,not a load of idiot tech to make up for poor motorcycling & navigation skills . Or the over use of unnecessary tech for the sake of pandering to nerds ,who consider motorcycles to be toys ,rather than what they really are ,which is two wheeled transport. Some of use don’t require it or need it as we ,learnt to ride ,control & find our way around without it . All I am saying ,is all motorcycle companies ,should produce standard versions in their range ,with out all that slipper ,blipper quick shifter ,ride modes ,blue tooth ,shizzle or any other gubbins I don’t require . Just because I have a few bob to spend ,doesn’t mean I want to waste it on tat I don’t require . A fool & his money is soon parted .

      I think that’s down to my camera mic. In real life with the exhaust upgrade they sound pretty good. 👍

      Don’t blame you. Great bikes and the introduction of the r1300 should bring the price of the 1250 down. 👍

      Now that’s very tempting. I might take a ride over to Ducati and see what they have. 👍

    Never liked the 1300 looks, reminds me too much of the Honda 750 NCX. Preferred the 1250GS. I don't like the integrated light system (brakes/indicator) and no backlit switchgear. Cheaper to buy a used fully specked 1250 and save around 5k. I had my 1250 for three years and loved it for touring. I've now got the RS1250.

      I would probably do the same. There are some good deals to be had on the 1250’s.

      I love the looks, of the 1300. I purchased this bike and it's my first BMW. I finally found a Motorrad bike I really love, both looks and the performance.

      @josephSF I agree. The GS fans are calling its looks. But I think it’s their best looking GS.
