- CFMoto 800 NK! Better than the KTM 790 Duke? It’s certainly cheaper and in my opinion it looks better. Join me for a look around this bike and then a ride. What’s the performance like?, what tech does it come with? And just how good is the CFMoto 800 NT? Find out by watching. Big thanks to AppleYard Motorcycles for letting me take this out. I’ve heard nothing but good things about CFMoto. This reminds me of my MT07.
Similar bike but this has more power, or certainly feels like it. Definitely more tech 🧐
I still can’t believe I didn’t know this came with a touch screen 🫣
I took one for a test ride was proper good fun. I don't really get why you need quickshifter on a road bike and what's the point of keyless ignition all my other bikes have a nice handy little slot for my key
Great review 👍Another great bike of CF Moto, about all reviews on CF Moto are positive, sure says something.
Would be great to seeing a review on the new CL-C 450 too😊
I’ve been out on the 650NK that review will be out next week. I’m going to try and get back to Appleyards soon and try some more.
i think i'm gonna buy this but the advanced version. it has an additional up/down quickshifter, cornering ABS, and traction control. i'm not sure if it misses any tech at that point. it even has cruise control. btw the keyless start also works with your phone, i think you just have to connect it with the cfmoto app. not sure how useful that is, but considering i always have my phone with me, maybe i can leave the fob at home then.
probably the only weak point of this bike is the tires. they're decent but there's much better out there. i'll just immediately replace them with some michelin road 6 tires. make it a 10/10 bike right away.
edit: forgot the adv version has anti wheelie control too.
Amazing bikes. A great choice. I’m still impressed with all the tech it comes with.
if u are so impressed with the bike than u will love what the app can do :))...mine just had an OTA update and the engine seems to run even better. the dash got better also. its almost the perfect bike :D
The bike tested was the Advance model. Neither of the 800NK bikes have Traction control or cornering ABS, that kit is kept for the KTM bikes. I am still tempted though.
@@davidreed9217 the advanced model has TC i'm pretty sure.

You're a trooper for doing these reviews in the horrendous weather again 😮 As a brand new motorcyclist I have no right to be a traditionalist but... No no no, that screen 😡 We're all square eyed enough these days 😅 Great reaction when you put it in sport mode, think you should review it again when it isn't raining, but good luck predicting that 😂 Great review regardless 👍🏻
Thanks. I am having a bad time with the weather at the mo. Hopefully get some dry rides soon. 🤞
If Gilly turns up at Appleyard's and it's NOT raining, then I'll know the video is fake :)
😂. I can’t wait to go there when it’s dry 😂
Just bought one. 1 test ride. Done
Good choice 👍
Bad thing about keyless is ya could lose your fob while riding then what? Dont laugh MANY of us have had stuff bounce out of a jacket pocket...i dont like the keyless unless they have a little container to put te fob in like some BMW s have I think
I agree. I think it’s something we didn’t need. If you have to have it with you. Then why not just have a key?
u can use just your phone. just have BT on and it will work exactly like the key...u won.t be able to put fuel in though :)
looks so much better than the KTM, hopefully more reliable as well, and having looked at both brands I think the CFmoto build quality is better than KTM generally and they seem to be generally more reliable
And they are cheaper 👍
Engine-wise I think they will be the same in terms of reliability because Cfmoto is also the one making the 790 now that's why they are allowed to use the 790 frame and engine. And honestly since the year Cfmoto started making the 790 for KTM back in 2021, all the issues from the austrian made 790 was fixed.
15:38 min: One has to wonder who actually owns KTM nowadays if one strips away all the corporate layers. That might be an explanation.
Same engine, looks way better, cheaper. Who would prefer the KTM? The dash looks daft, though. The base model's dash looks more normal. The standard fatbars on the base model look better, too.
An acquaintance rode from China to England on an early CFMoto. It proved to be 100 per cent reliable.
I would have no hesitation: I'd have one of these but the base model.
I am from this area. I was born in Skipton. I remember the weather.
I seem to be in the minority that likes the screen 🤗. These are great bikes. A much better option than the KTM. I had to drive 2 hours to get over to do this review. No matter where I go the weather follows me. 😂
Just press 2-3 sec to FN or * button , and the speed screen will fill up the complet screen without navigation.
The screen is great. No need for an extra satnav. A very nice bit of kit. Unfortunately I didn’t have it long enough to have a proper play with all the features. Hopefully one day I will get to keep them for longer.
Possibly the best looking new bike and even the aerodynamic features seem to make sense, which is quite rare nowadays. For that price it literally looks like a (fancy) steal.
I agree. Amazing bike.
It needs a softer seat. I rode 100 miles last week and 120 miles yesterday. My tailbone was hurting. Other than that, its a great bike
I find that with every new bike I buy. Once I get used to long trips on them the pain doesn’t come. However I have heard that those mesh seat covers always help for a long journey 👍
Talking about aerodynamics: How did it fare under water? 🤣
It was a good swimmer 😂
Gillybikes and rain go hand in hand😂 Great bike could do with a tail tidy to give it that extra aggressive look.
You’re not wrong. As soon as the keys touch my hands it starts raining.
I wonder how durable the screen will be and if they’ll end up getting cracked or badly scratched over time - it looks very fragile and vulnerable sitting there.
It feels expensive and very well made so hopefully it will be fine over time. . . . . . Hopefully.
I looked at this very bike today and the screen did have scratches, but it is a demo bike and god knows how many dirty gloved hands had been wiping the rain off it.
@davidreed9217 🫣
How do you think the reliability will be?
They look really well made. I’ve not heard of any issues with them. But they are new so time will tell I suppose. I would definitely buy one. They are on my list for my next bike I think.
@@GillyBikes I own one of the first batch that arrived in PH, it has fueling issues which makes the bike jerky from 2-3k rpm and a flat spot around 3-4.5k but on my 5k kms trip to the dealership they updated it and it's now smooth.
@9LB.hammer glad it was sorted for you 👍
Even though it's a long video presenting CFMoto 800NK, it's not a proper comparison to KTM 790 Duke as the title claims. KTM 790 Duke was not presented at all.
looks as a reason is a non starter totally subjective ya have to give actual REASONS why one motorcycle is superior. Is it lighter? faster? More tech? better tech? better warranty? Better range? resale considerations? without tis kind of deliberation the issue is a waste of time IMHO...just a ploy to get customers
