    Always nice to learn sometging new about this engine on 156, 147 etc. Very specific videos. Very nice car, oh how it would look with some nice silver wheels :)

      I'm not too keen on black rims also... Grey or dark grey is the most I like

    Great video as always!!!
    I had an idle issue for many years. For me the solution was a new o-ring in the PCV valve. No mechanic in Corfu, Greece knew that "trick".
    (Just be careful with the spring in the PCV. It's quite springy. I've lost one and made a custom one. To be fully pressed it needs almost 300grams of pressure. I've measured the new one and I know this info)
    My symptoms
    - Irregular idle
    - When I went from a gear to neutral and the engine revved down it would drop the RPMs under 1000 and most of the time the engine would shut down.
    - When I started driving from a stop then the car would have difficulty revving up and I had to rev up to 2000rpms so that it wouldn't stall
    Leaving a comment here because it may help others!

    Soy de Argentina tengo un 156 2.0 16v 1998 y estoy teniendo teniendo problemas con el embrague me cambiaron todo y perdí la presión del pedal cambie bomba también y continua la falla, podría ser la crapodina que se puso nueva? Hello! I'm watching your videos from time to time. A lot of valuable info there and despite I had several occasions to dismantle whole TS engine still learning new things from you 😀
    I was wondering if you could help me understand Variable Cam timing on 2.0 TS or maybe you could post video regarding VCT system, how it works, solenoid and variator etc. The thing is I'm swapping from 1.6 TS 105CV to 2.0 TS. I bought bare engine without auxilary. The thing is I'm going to BiTurbo it (Saab TTiD exhaust manifold P&P) so I'm not relying on Variable Cam at all to make power. Problem is that I want to use a lot of stuff from 1.6. So the intake manifold doesn't have the place for VCT solenoid. The question is - if I use the 1.6 manifold with 2.0 head, in which position the Cam would be - advanced or retarded? (the 1.6 intake does not have the oil channels for solenoid, so cam channels could have high oil pressure buildup which could lead to advanced position - am I thinking right? 😅). I would appreciate the help! Greetings from Poland! 😃

    Good troubleshooting. Do those throttle body actuators go bad on earlier TS engines? My '98 2.0 TS 156 has irregular idle issues. Problem is when i am driving and press the clutch pedal, the RPM bounce from 1000 to 1500 constantly until the car is stationairy. I managed to temporarily fix it by cleaning the throttle body and executing the adaptation learning in MES. But the problem is now back. I have a couple of those actuators on hand if that may be an issue, everytime i see them on a car at the junkyard i always take them with me.

    Do you think a bad idle regulator would cause my 156 to regularly jerk annoyingly when throttle is pressed steady and also stall when coming to a stop? It idles fine, but when throttle is pushed less than 25% the acceleration is jerky and like it has hiccups but it feels like an electronic or sensor issue. It's worse with AC on and no fun to drive anymore and I'm stuck so this video gave me some hope. ) =

    I have a 156 selespeed. Shortly I have a little problem, the gear indicator in dashboard started blinking on first and second gear. I checked with Multiecuscan and I have P0725 error code, one of the sensors. But it doesn’t tell me which one, and I don’t know if it’s on the gearbox or on the robot.

    Is there a way to deactivate the automatic start of the AC when turning the engine on in Alfa 156 TS? It always messes up my idle (especially when cold, not so much so after the car has been driven a bit) and I think it is an unnecessary strain on the electrical/mechanical start of the car.

    • @alfaromeonoproblem
      @alfaromeonoproblem  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello. I advise everyone to use the AC system permanently, it's for the best. If the car cannot handle it, you should first try to understand why it is so.
      There is probably a way to do so, but not to my knowledge

    • @RandomYTStuff

      @@alfaromeonoproblem So unstable idle with AC on is an indication of a problem? What would you point for possible underlying issues? Belt service done in March 2022, AC serviced yearly etc

    • @alfaromeonoproblem
      @alfaromeonoproblem  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @RandomYTStuff yes.. the AC system should be unnoticeable while running the car at any stage.
      Plus, the ECU is ready to manage all of that so it's unnoticed by the user.
      Check proper timing, check the correct quantity of Freon, not too much!!
      And an adaptation of the throttle body too
