Ooh, I never thought to use the black hole's gravitational lens effect to magnify the Andromeda Galaxy! It looks great floating past, there!

There is a way to "wormhole" yourself straight back to the Bubble - one-way. Buy a stock sidewinder from one of the stations and self-destruct in it. You are given the option to rebuy it or to get a starter ship - which is back in the Bubble! The game will then put you at the starter station, but with everything else intact (except the new sidey you sacrificed, and any cartographic data, so make sure to sell that first). It won't work if you have unpaid fines or personal bounties, that will put you in the nearest prison, so only do it when "clean".

Excellent destruction of that ganker! Presumably players don't drop occupied escape pods, since they need to live on free to play not get turned into Etienne Dorn's unspecified meat....

I got escape pods from POIs on planet surfaces (wrecks) and some fleet carriers sell them (see Inara)...

Elite always suprises, nice vid. BTW you fall into a blackhole not "sucked" just like a skydive, you fall back to Earth.

I just wish you could send a ship out into deep space but still be able to "teleport" back to a ship in the bubble and do combat. I would leave a ship everywhere to explore.

Don't forget to have those engineers do some work on a module too, to get your rep with them up! It only goes up when you do stuff at their workshop.

As an ED noobie my question is - are any of your engineered items available to you onboard your other ships or do you need to engineer each one separately?

Two things you maybe didn´t know: 1. It is just an assumption but I think you didn´t level up the Engineers you unlockt. Just unlocking and pinning the blueprints is technachly enought but now you only have grade 1 engineering as you didn´t level up the engineer. Therefore if you want to engineer the shield cell banks to grade 4 that still won´t be possible due to the engineer only beeing grade 1 so only grade 1 engineert cell banks 2. Theres a mega ship in the colonia region where you can get escape pods easily with hacking limpets and collector limpets o7 cmdr

No question it’s easier in ED. It used to be so much easier in SC, especially since scanning is still so buggy.

Point defense on the bottom, near your cargo scoop, will take care of a lot of hatchbreakers.

There is functionality in spanch to put your exact build in / there is more accurate plotter. (Will have maybe 25% less jumps as it takes into account that you can't jump longer as your fuel weight diminishes). You do in less that 65 jumps with a really optimised build and route. (91 ly range conda)

The effect around the black hole is called "gravitational lensing" where the gravity is so strong that it bends the path of the light from behind the black hole, making that cool effect. :)

I got about the same on my 'conda after the SCO conversion. As you've been advised already, you'd get more utility using MASS MANAGER instead of DEEP CHARGE on the FSD experimental effect, especially for the long jumper types.

u can buy a lot of the engineer required commodities from player carriers.

Near Colonia, there's a peaceful neutron star called Evelyn's Light. It's a memorial for a player's daughter who died of cancer, and features a tourist beacon with a poem.

Put a point defence turret under your ship and it will kill the hatch breaker limpets when the enemy sends them to try and take your cargo.

point defense turrets take out enemy limpets I leave my limpet button pressed when I do AFK pirates.. I wake up to a ton of extra manufacturing assets from pirates.

Before you leave Colonia, be sure to buy lots of 1D shield generators. It's the only place you can get them.

If I remember correct, there is a mega ship in the area that you can scan to get it to release escape pods. That's the easiest way to unlock that engineer.

8:57 like I said, you need to unlock the engineering grades aswell, or no matter what you do you won't be able to engineer the things in the remote workshop higher than you've unlocked the engineer attached.

6:41 it doesn't matter, the interdictor class makes it easier to only catch someone. But the minigame of interdictong someone/escaping interdiction will always be the same.

Nice work handling that ganker! Kudos for playing in open as well. All you need(ed) is a defense pod situated around your cargo hatch to stop hatch-breakers. My 'conda is all explorer so I would have no idea on utility, but I'm sure that would be better than law-breaking. This is a must-have on all my vessels that will have valuables on-board. I gave you credit for not taking your FC -- now it looks as if you should have parked it perhaps within 1K light years from Colonia. The trip back can be such a drag. If you stayed to the bridge, you could have found refuge, warm meals, and, most important -- a steady supply of tritium. Good run nonetheless.

you need to put point defence by your cargo hatch or use an ECM to blow up the hatch breakers ....oh and keep up the great vids

Well this explains why you were collecting mats a weeks ago when I asked what you were up to :) You could get escape pods by scanning for battle aftermath too... no need to kill anyone.

Hotspots in rings are hotspots for a specific mineral. If you can find an Osmium hotspot you will find more asteroids with Osmium in them. That said, I don't think Osmium has hotspots. Most people laser mine platinum, but if you have a fleet carrier try finding Bromelite hotspots in icy rings to laser mine. You can sell Bromelite for 1 million per ton provided you have 50t+ to sell to players who need it to unlock Bill Turner in the bubble.

You can disembark and talk to the engineer on foot, face to face (they still offer the same mods). Some nice animations and speech.

You Anaconda ship kit looks great, it reminds me of Nemesis The Warlock's ship from the 2000AD comic!

I don't really like rapid fire on my multis, imho they chew through ammo like a pig. Everyone usually uses overcharged - less dps, but much higher potential damage per ammo count.

One advice for everyone in colonia, don't forget to pin the "Shield Cell Bank (G4)" from Mel Brandon, as he is the only one with the highest rate of that engineering. If you are back to core systems and do want to engineer new components, no need to go back to colonia... ;)

Hey Foxy, any way possible that you could teach me how to hunt the Orthrus like you do in this video. I am trying to learn but it is super hard solo and I don't really have a squad or any friends to join up with on Elite Dangerous. Love your bids brother. o7 Cammander

It's worth taking a trip to Sag A* from here if you've not before, as the stars get denser and denser towards the centre.

Just got to Colonia for the first time. The stars are beautiful. To any and all cmdrs have have yet to do so make the trip its worth it 😊

Once I make my way out there to do engineering I'm there to stay. So pretty out there
