    Msv focus hex 17 At 45lbs on blx six one 95 racquets. Best cheap poly I have tested. Signum pro polyplasma looses tension and goes ballistic, kirchebaum supersmash had too mutch power for me right on start… maybe I gravitate towards “Dead” polys for low tension, I want to try 4G on the 40s someday!

    Humm...if I play matches, then I think I'll go around 48~50lbs as the rackets are freshly strung, how many lbs they're strung then how many lbs the strings are at when I play. However, as a recreational player and busy at my own works (engineering and admin. related, so quite busy), I intentionally have my rackets strung at 60~62lbs (poly-coated multi) on main, and around 54~56 (poly) on cross. They'll drop like about 5~6lbs when the time I take the racket to court and play. And further 2~3lbs drop after initial hour hitting. So I treat the initial "high tension" as pre-stretch process. Of course I use OS rackets and power pads and hence the tension is a bit higher to deal with the extra length of each main / cross. My friend who's a stringer in my town always sighs and says I should go much lower for modern game style. Seems he forget there is one thing called "pre-stretching".

    I think tension is something personal... It's a combination of frame + string... Depends on the frame too, is not the same playing 45-52 lbs using 330-350grams racket that using the same tensions using 300-305g rackets. String type is really important to define tension. Is not the same using kirschbaum Max Power Rough than kirschbaum orange or RPM Babolat or Luxilon Alu Power... All are different strings and the feel at different tensions will be different. Also is not the same using a Head Prestige Pro (320grams) than using Percept Pro (330grams) The tension range you can use in both is quite different, Prestige Pro is a real control frame, difficult to handle at high tensions, on the other hand percept can be used at 55-58 and its usable, but again depend on each player game/preferences. In my opinion comparing what ATP Players are doing to what club players can do is not the best way... ATP level do not use commercial rackets, they use pro stocks like H22 Wilson or PT57A/ TGT344.4 Head or some others, they customize frames.

      Head size, frame stiffness and string tension make for quite the gamut. When I see someone review a string after using it strung at only one tension, they really are speaking gibberish, as the string can play totally differently at another tension.

    I think going down with string tensions is just another symptom of the fundamental sickness crippling today's game. Guys pushing the ball with rigid arms and compensating the lack of racket head speed with ridiculously low tensions! Another part of this ailment is the related trend of playing with lighter and lighter rackets. One could even argue that the false rumours concerning the "death of one-handed backhand" can be seen in this blatant context of corrupted tennis coaching, too.

  • @Julian0K
    @Julian0K 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Are you playing with your new lower tension? Easy to say from the sidelines, but just notice that you are not really pushing him very deep and a lot of your shots are landing mid court giving him too much time. I think with more depth this would have been easy peasy.

    Advanced… but old now so velocity mlt (or NXT power)cross 51 and Luxilon element 53, plus or minus 1 depending on weather, on Liquid Metal mp. Can’t imaging dropping any lower it would force a shorter more compact stroke and dramatically alter launch angle (too high). Makes cross court sharp angle shot difficult. May work for few. My racket is super low power so for modern rackets around 50 is a good compromise.

    I'm now 54 and have switched for the last few years to a gut/poly hybrid @ 46/44 lbs. I do have to concentrate on swinging more relaxed, but it suits me fine now. I don't get as much spin with a gut hybrid, but the extra power and feel more than compensates for it. Plus the greatly extended tension maintenance and liveliness more than offsets the extra cost. I don't think I'll ever go back to pure poly...

    I’m now at 50lbs in mains and 48lbs in crosses. I started at 55 lbs earlier this year but have dropped a pound gradually. I think I’m almost where I want to be as my balls are landing deep like I want and I’m not over hitting the baseline as frequently as I thought I might at a lower tension.

  • @CH-yp5by
    @CH-yp5by 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

    before just stringing at lower tenison you need to know how sof tyour poly, the softer the poly the quicker it loses tension so if you want 44lbs you shoudl string at about 48 as it was drop tension a lot in the the first few hours of play and end up around 44lbs. If you you use a stiff string like Luxilon 4G it holds its tenison well so you can string this at 45lbs and it might lose 1lbs after a few hours.
