We do incubation both with soil and Soilless systems as we are still doing experiments for both soil and Soilless Systems. We use sawdust for the Soilless and are also working and experimenting on other easier techniques.

Yes, it does happen, sometimes a whole farm can be wiped off if the housing and management are not effectively keeping the snails active. Most mortalities could be attributed to housing and management factors among others.

Ventilation is not an important factor in snail farming success, rather, what is important is moisture. As long as your pen is not 100% airtight snails will do well if you have good moisture in it.

Generally times of watering depends on the kind of housing you have. Some of our soilless snail housing we water once and others twice. So, it depends. If your housing has the ability to maintain moisture for a long time you'll need to do less water sprinkling
