Can a Chinese Diesel Heater REALLY Keep You Warm in Alaska?

I mounted a Vevor all in one Chinese Diesel Heater in my extended workshop and tested it for a straight 12 hours. This is a 540 square foot space. We tested the heat output, fuel usage, and battery/voltage usage. This video is not sponsored, however I put a tag where you can buy your own Vevor if you liked the results.

@@McSpeedAlaskanAdventures Yes we have the same feeling. This year we stay closer to home, but I'm already planning a trip that takes us along the East side of the Rocky Mountains. If you have time look into Alberta Highway 40, its about 750Mile long mostly gravel.

@@McSpeedAlaskanAdventures Grace ice shield, but I decided to let the camper rot... I mean other projects need attention first, second, ect
@ you know the ice shield is almost the exact same stuff, but it doesn’t have that outer layer so it can breakdown with uv. It installs the exact same way. My wife and I put it on our garage extension and it looked like a comedy show making 42 foot long runs. We about got rolled up in it!!!
I really appreciate it man thank you !
@@mattkeane344 100% welcome. I hope that answers any questions you have about it.
@ it sure does I will be using this on my camper roof !
Would you give this a shot for your camper build? Any topics I didn't cover that you would like to know, just leave a comment below.
What do you think? Is it the most perfect radio infotainment system for your offroad vehicle?
Sure is so is your garage neat bro.
@ thank you brother! I worked hard to reorganize it while recovering my shoulder.
Do you have a video review of the MFM peel and seal for this application? I’m looking into using this for re doing my roof , do you recommend using it and has it help up ?
@@mattkeane344 perfect timing for your comment. I’m working on one now. It has held up well. There are pluses and minuses of using it. I’m happy with it.
@ I appreciate the response, can I use that as an exterior roof layer or do I need something else on top of it ?
@ it is the exterior layer. If you wanted a base below your final Roof you would be better using ice and water shield. The peel and seal has a thin aluminum coating that makes it UV safe and full exposed safe. It can be damaged if penetrated so be careful of low hanging tree limbs as they might gouge the foil outer layer. But it is easy to patch. It is easy to install. I have multiple spots where I drilled through for solar panels and other things. It self heals where you bolt through it. But you still use sealant like a regular tv roof around the vents and brackets and anywhere you bolt through it. I hope to cover all that in my video. We have had zero leaks and zero failures. But the camper does get stored inside during the winter.
@ awesome ! I can’t wait to see the video and thank you for taking the time out of ur day to help me as well !
Cool build. Everyone should be able to make their hmmwv the way they want it. I went prefab, a radio rack and two map/dry boxes. They bolted directly to the rack.
I am a big fan of doing it that way as well. I’m wrapping up the new stereo with Apple car play so we can see onX off road maps and more. Music too of course. Paint it drying as we speak.
Please learn to brake modulate.
@@Oleamerica it is so tricky. Especially with the 6.2 as it is such a balance between bogging the engine and getting traction. I sincerely suck at it. But trying to get better.

Murphy is such a beautiful boy...I am so sorry you went through this it is heartbreaking. I had a mini schnauzer Pebbles who had DM at first she was diagnosed with arthritis but she developed that back foot scrape you talked about but there were earlier red flags that I missed such as not wanting to climb the stairs, or get upon the sofa at times and her back legs crossing over from time to time as she walked. Two vets did eventually tell me that they believed she had DM even though she didn't have tests to confirm it when she began to have urinary incontinence and then fecal but she lived a good life her kidneys failed in the end but she had started to lose muscle mass in her chest and front legs she loved going out in her pram. she crossed over at 13 years old. Now my other schnauzer Dexy he is showing all the same signs like Pebbles had when it first started he is only 7 and a half.

do a lot of people from other parts of the states see this event as good or bad, i'm curiously asking because my parents would think this event is stupid
There are many mixed emotions on this one. The very local people hate it as it blocks the road for a day and they are hostage to it all. It isn't clear if they will hold it next this year due to bank erosion - but I hear they have a plan for that.

Do you air down at all when you put your chains on?
@@markditko4363 yes. Got that advice straight from the Pewag dealer. But air down first, then chains.
@@McSpeedAlaskanAdventures Very interesting. I wouldn't have thought to air down in chains. How low do you air down? Are the chains any sort of limiting factor? I have bead locks but would have thought the chains might add extra stress on the tires somehow. I've only had my H1 for a short while and am still getting my head wrapped around stuff like this.
@@markditko4363 I mostly air down for comfort. At 8 - 10 psi it makes a world of difference on the ride quality. I use a set of Staun Deflators to get the air down fast. The chain severely limits speed on a smooth surface. I’ve had to adjust them (remove links) a few times. I’ve used chains on dirt and snow. They really bite in dirt and mud. I have wood block I use now to drive up on and then install. It is way faster. If you chain up get quality USA chains. Like Pewag. They will set you back some $$$ but they work.
@@McSpeedAlaskanAdventures Ya, I saw your wood block set-up and was intrigued by it. And we corresponded about a year ago and I bought a set of chains from Pewag based on your recommendation ... so I have the same ones as you. And my friend and I just resized them a couple weeks ago so that's done. ... and yes ... they were pricey, but they seem to be an amazing quality. (And ridiculously heavy!!!) I'm probably heading up to my buddy's mountain cabin later this month (in the snow) so I want to be prepared. I went to his cabin last year and made it 9 out of the 10 miles to his place, after a huge snowfall. BUT I didn't have my chains on. I put my front chains on to get out of there the next morning, but they weren't sized right so it was a bit of a cluster. And I have an H1 with the CTIS so that helps with the air up / down ... but it's slow to air back up.
First time seeing them last night, pretty special experience for me. Around midnight we could see them in Anchorage proper.
Was amazing!!!!!

Happy new year! Would you prefer this or fireworks to ring in the new year?
Awesome project! Such good heat output, thats hard to beat.
@@TrailToyzOffRoad agreed. 👍
I keep seeing these being used more and more.... very efficient for sure!
@@BuildItWheelItExploreIt yes. I imagine if it were 10-15 degrees warmer outside it would have hit a much more comfortable inside temp. Or if I had two of them running at once it would have been better. But in a pinch if it can heat 540 sq foot this cold outdoors than it is pretty amazing for the money.
Awesome test! I have been thinking about mounting one of these in my truck cab but now I think it would be too much heat. That thing really puts out the heat! I might be better off looking for a hydronic preheater style one.

8am? For what? Be respectful. And why is the plow so small? Lol you're driving so slow too. New? Why in God's earth you plowing towards the house? Definitely doesn't know what he's doing lol
@@BCarlson-y2h my neighbors are cool and sometimes are out around 5:30 am doing theirs. I agree. I don’t know what I’m doing. I’ve always ran a snow blower. I’m an ace with that. But since the shoulder surgery I can’t do it this season. This is a slow learning curve.
@McSpeedAlaskanAdventures everyone's gotta learn somehow. I personally love my plow on my rzr so much better than a snowblower just make sure you push it back enough for more snow in the future
@ I’m glad to hear that. the RZR is more powerful than this Kawasaki. I am pushing it way across the yard for that reason. We had 4’ of snow in one week season before and I watched some people get land locked for not pushing it back far enough in the first place. Snow has been very minimal so far this year.
