- Rules : 20L in each car. RPM and boost limiter to the max. Gears ratio, wings angle, toe and suspension height have also been tuned in the limits of what was allowed by the car/mod default settings.
- As pointed out in the comments, the Toyota GT-One mistakenly has a very low top speed here, at least 20 km/h too low as compared to real life data.
- The C9 top speed should be about 10 km/h higher at least.
- Some drivers said the porsche 962 could reach about 400 km/h, but no official data seem to confirm that.
- The Reynard 95i's braking handling seem much worse that reality, though it's an oval setup.
- For a given car/driver, an error of 10 km/h in top speed impacts approximately 1.5 s in lap time only, because top speed is typically not reached very quickly and acceleration, braking and cornering phases are of primary importance.

    It's wildly inaccurate because the best time a 962C did on the circuit with the Ford chicanes is 3 minutes 16 seconds for qualifying in 1986. Here it does it 20 seconds faster, without those chicanes on the old circuit. Which in no way adds 20 seconds to the lap time. That entire section WITH the chicanes is well under 20 seconds to complete in the first place in a 962C. So the simulation is miles out.

    The problem this is ignoring (apart from longevity, obviously) is the actual regulation. For instance, in 1986, the Le Mans cars by FIA rules had a minimum allowed weight of 850kg, and a maximum allowed fuel consumption during 24h of 2500l, up from 2210l the prior year. A 1986 formula One car had a minimum weight of 540kg, and a maximum consumption of 195l/race, down from 220l/race the prior year - so if anything, 1986 was a year where F1 were forced to have comparatively more efficient fuel consumption than the Group C prototypes, right? It certainly influenced that year's championship, the constant worry of running out of fuel with this new strict regulation... Well, on Spa 1986 (IMO the track most similar to Circuit de la Sarthe), the winning F1 car ran a distance of 298km in 1:28=88min, for which that maximum consumption (no idea how much Mansell still had in the tank after, but let's assume he pretty much used up his available resources, as would be the aim when setting the power level with no fuel stops) would come to 0,65l/km, or about 2,21l/min. In the Le Mans race of 1986, the winning car ran a distance of 4972km (the worst distance since 1955, due to track layout change and Jo Gartner's deadly accident during the race), within 24h = 1440min. Assuming the maximum consumption of 2500l being used (and you can believe they didn't waste much), that's 0,5l/km, or about 1,74l/min - with everything stacked against them in terms of efficiency that year, the 1986 C1 cars were still SIGNIFICANTLY more efficient than F1. We could also compare Spa to Spa - in 1986, the Group C prototypes had a maximum allowed consumption of 510l for the 1000km race - meaning a limit of 0,51l/km obviously, and as they did it in around 353min (1984)/335min (1986), that means around 1,44 - 1,52l/km. Ever wonder why the group C cars had such "reasonable" power levels (600-800hp) compared to the older prototypes, the 1200hp 917/30s, now that they had 2+ times the downforce actually, and could probably use the added power way better than the old cars? This fuel regulation is why. So the fair comparison for this timeframe would be: Add 310kg of ballast (+57% overall weight ) to the F1 car, and at the same time reduce it's fuel consumption by about 25% (0.65l/km versus 0.5l/km). While making the heavier car and it's overstressed suspension + clutch + gearbox last about 10x longer. Yeah, fat chance. But perhaps a somewhat fairer test: Fill up the F1 cars fuel tanks to 100%, if you can, also add 100kg of ballast, and use just qualifying amount (around 15l) in the Group C, also ABSOLUTELY NO qualifying boost for F1. That wouldn't even make the maximum consumption requirements for F1, let alone the stricter ones of Le Mans.

    That 917/30 terrified me. I could feel the relative lack of grip going through the high-speed sections, and it looked like you would've virtually killed yourself if you had just given the slightest misinput. To think a car with that power/weight ratio was built in 1973; those Germans were crazy!
