    Why are you adding snow inside the tent?

    • @Followmeoutdoors
      @Followmeoutdoors 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Conor, thanks for your comment, because my tent is about a meter or more above ground level on snow, as the wood stove warms the inside of the tent the snow inside melts, and everything inside the tent sinks, I replace the snow - usually once every other day - to get the floor level again so I don't roll off my bed in the middle of the night. It's a bit of a chore, but also just a part of camping in the winter in such a heavy snowfall region. Thanks so much for stopping by.

    Just right! There’s no better way to camp, I live in Colorado and winter is the only time to camp. Colorado is a very beautiful place but EXTREMELY CROWDED, like the kinda crowded you need to bring your own rock to sit on in the warmer months! but the winter months are great camping, peace and quiet, thanks again for sharing your adventures

    FYI, Just got to remember that drinking booze in the winter makes you colder. Although it may warm you for a short time it will dilate your veins and make you lose heat faster. having just a little taste in the coffee but not 1/2 of your flask. I used to be an EMT-IV/Paramedic for NYC-EMS before the NYFD took over in 1998. Just looking out for your health and Safety.

    These woods stayed under snow. They are not wet? They burn easily?

    • @Followmeoutdoors
      @Followmeoutdoors 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I gather the wood you are referring to is the larch limbs i collected on the first night from a stash i had? if so they were very long limbs, standing upright against a tree, the larch was seasoned ( had dried for a few years) and being larch full of resins that protect them from rot and moisture - to some extent, so the meter or so that was buried under snow was well preserved. Any other wood i collect is from dead standing trees, so is bone dry and burns well. thanks for your comment, sorry it took me a year to reply.

    Great little trip Paul. I see you have an outer fly for the setup now, did you make that one yourself? Very jealous of your snow, winter has been a little slow around Ontario this year. Anyways, nice to see more of your footage, take care!

    • @Followmeoutdoors
      @Followmeoutdoors 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiya Ryan, actually the fly is also from Snowtrekker, I’ve noticed it helps retain heat in the tent a bit better once it has a layer of snow on it, sheds quite well too, as long as the snow hasn’t built up to touch the edges ;) Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. I’ll send some snow your way. Cheers Paul.

    Great little video to show the tent. I recently bought a basecamp snowtrekker now I wish I got the window. Great addition. Do you have a video or know of a video of folding the tent? It came so nicely packed and I would like to store it like that after I dry it out. Thanks in advance.

    • @Followmeoutdoors
      @Followmeoutdoors 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trailsandrivers Hi there, thanks for stopping by, I don’t have a folding up video myself, and I also doubt I could ever get it folded up as nicely as it came. When I break camp however I usually just stuff the tent into a dry bag and then hang it up to dry for a day or so as soon as I get home... a video on how to fold properly would be great though, maybe I’ll have to purchase another tent so I can study the folding method ;) thanks for your comment and happy camping. Cheers Paul.

    Excellent hot tenting videos. Thanks for sharing and filming. Now a question: Do you like the 8x8 tent size for one person? Would you buy the same size again? Bigger?

    • @Followmeoutdoors
      @Followmeoutdoors 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brent Butikofer Hi Brent, thanks very much for watching and commenting, I’m glad you enjoyed the videos... I do love the 8x8 and it is the perfect size for one, it is a two man tent but with the amount of stuff I take with me it would be a bit of a squeeze. I do like the 8x10 though as it has the stove jack on the other side, and the kni-co stove door hinges on the right side, so if it were on the other side of the tent it would be easier to load and tend too... my next tent will be an 8x10. Thanks so much for stopping by.

  • @markstephens9852

    8 wasted minute of wasted video showing meaningless stuff. We can see your sled is red, tent is white, and bags green. You waste too much of your time, and mine. As I expect the other 3 videos will be no better, I will not watch, or recommend. God luck, you're gonna need it. Do not quit your day job.
