All of the new models are a win for me. I've known about battletech for 20 years but the models always looked a bit silly for me. The new redesigns are what finally got me into the game.

The Ultra AC/5 is a great 'upgrade' gun for cheapo IS 40 tonners and 60 bullet hoses... But 'keeping the cost down' sorta feels like it's defeating the purpose of clan mechs, for sure.

Nah that old locust is one of the derpiest looking things ive ever seen. Looks like it has toothpicks for legs.

If I was in a losing situation...I'd just go hard and get super aggressive. Either clutch an amusing kill or get the game over faster.

You should be spamming cluster out of your LB-Xs from the get go , 1 point of damage to the head is still a hit on the pilot , 1 point of damage is enough for a through armour critical

I would say if you're going to play them in an actual battle consider taking the STG-A1. At 846BV it is surprisingly affordable and the pulse lasers make that horrible target modifier much less painful. LAMs like the PHX-HK2 suffer a lot from being fast and nigh-unhittable, but doing basically no damage, plus it is just plain expensive for what you get.

Charger F tier? Unfortunately, you have not been graced by the day a Charger murders an atlas or Direwolf out of sheer refusal to die or be hit, or boxed a Timberwolf to death. That being I do get this list is of personal opinion, but I do find some of your assessments interesting, and some i dont agree with. For example, I dont like the Zeus at all and would rate it D tier personally because I find it a mech who sorta Limbos between purpose without excelling anywhere, but I do agree with your assesment of it as well

Played with two 7G/8P Awesome pilots to get them into 4K Lance. Overall they perform better than the lights with 3/4 and 4/4 MechWarriors.

Find just going 4G/4P Mercenary is beneficial enough.

Without a doubt the new art and sculpts look much better. While I enjoy that the Unseen were from classic Japanese anime series, they definitely are from the 80s and look it. It's 2024 and BattleTech deserves a modern update and we definitely got it!

I really question how the plans for the Marauder II didn't INSTANTLY blow the Dragoon's cover, but that's the mary sue faction for you tbh

The Locust 1E. 2 Medium lasers, 2 Small Lasers, almost max armor for 20 tonner. Fast, dangerous, and I've used it both in tabletop and online to great success. An absolute STEAL at 553 BV

Don't be flanked, but if you are flanked, position to defeat in detail.

There are also 2 other Assault Mechs which the Wolf's Dragoons brought with them to the IS, but they rarely fielded them on the battlefield because doing so would raise eyebrows as they were created by the clans in the early years with the final one being created from blueprints brought over with the exodus. That being the Annihilator and the Stone Rhino (yeah they brought a single Stone Rhino with them) and a cluster of Annihilators. In all fairness, both are not worth mentioning as the Dragoons only had 1 Stone Rhino whom existed purely as a last resort and the Annihilator is a bit of a D tier mech.

I don't want to be rude, but you can't devalue one Mech and elevate another using the same argument. Give me the Victor and I blow up your Goliath easy!

I find joy not in optimizing the mechs, but in how wild the situations can be on the battlefield and how a 'shitty' mech suddenly pulls out stuff. The tournaments I have played usually give me random mechs from a pool of choices and you have to make them work. You learn a lot from those situations and discover hidden gems you would have never wanted to play otherwise.

There is a tactic missing here, that has always worked for me; Put all the big guns in your list onto relatively mobile medium or heavy tanks... Charge right at the enemy, and don't let up!... But spend the *other half* of your list on fast cheap-ish brawler mechs, like the charger or hunchback. The enemy is left with the choice of either avoiding your units like the plague, playing to the tank's strengths, or getting into kicking distance of your big dumb cheap rage machines.

I feel learning about Clan Mechs for your channel would certainly broaden it’s appeal. Because this list lacks Clan Mechs, especially given that those aren’t restricted to Clanners (salvage/trade/whatever), it doesn’t feel as useful to those of us that do.

Shreck, Partisan, Von Luckner, Patton, Rommel, Hunter, Saladin, Hetzer, SRM/LRM carriers and Maxims - i had a vehicle infantry only merc unit, These were the heavy hitters and most productive vehicles, I loved the first succession war

My favourite mech is the very rare SLDF KGC-010 Simple load out with 2 each of PPCs, LBX10s and SRM6s with CASE protected ammo, 10 double heat sinks and 19 tons of armor. Much like the Stalker, it excels at every bracket but inside of 6, it will shred anything with holes in it in a round or two, an absolute crit producing monster. Only drawback is you can only fire both PPCs every other round at long range if you wanna stay reasonably cool and almost never both once you start throwing the SRM6s into the fray. That said, i remember one game taking an early engine hit from a random LRM cluster TAC 3 rounds in and it only reduced the big fella's effectiveness to a minor degree.

Suppressors (a mech armed with fast firing weapons) will require a veteran gunner to prevent jamming withs racs and uacs where jamming and clearing is an issue

I'm glad you found something that works for you. after 40 years of playing Battletech, I've never used CV, BV or BV2. since I'm not a competitive player, the points systems are completely useless. especially for my campaign play that fields a battalion strength combined arms force. good luck
