There are so many types of whistles available which one is best for a beagle ?

I wish we found your channel a year ago when we first brought home our beagle puppy. I feel so validated and weight off my shoulders hearing you talk about these things.❤️ The zoomies, over tiredness and having to teach our beagle that she needs to relax describes us to a tee.😅 Now she's a one yr old and has improved heaps and now sleeps in our room at night in her bed like a champ, but we still use her crate during the day when we can't supervise. Right now we are perfecting her recall and gonna do what you suggest with a whistle. We want her to be offlead once again tracking rabbits (rn we use a long line).❤️ Thank you for making these videos!

I have a question? I have a beagle he doesn’t have any recall~ we take him and his doggy friend to a local field where loads of other local dogs go which he plays really well with, there’s this one lady who walks her dogs in the field on leads, kilo has ran over to say hello they growl then he leaves them alone~ is this the same scenario? I would never let him off lead anywhere else. I always wonder that if her dogs are aggressive or fearful then coming to a dog field with dogs of lease isn’t the best idea~ but your video has made me think~ I am in the wrong for letting him off lease with minimal recall

My pitbull does this (1.5years) after dinner usually and he humps / bites (not too hard) and barks so usually he relaxs after a few mins but sometimes when hes really going I grab him and hug him tightly and that instantly stops him and after a minute or so he starts nodding off and he's cool after that

Mine never growls or bites, but if he wants a toy, bone or bed that my other dog has (or sitting near) he will howl constantly until he gets it. He knows leave it and enough but completely ignores me. I'll try to distract with other toys or treats. He'll take them and go right back! It's almost turning into treating him for howling. I'm at a loss!!

So I find my dog will give me his toys to throw in the garden if I am on the patio but if I move up the garden he starts jumping and running at me why is that? Playing ? He is a rescue dog and 31 months old beagle.

Thank you so much. My 1 and a half year old beagle has resource issues with things that he is not supposed to have. It’s usually things he wants to chew up. Never with his toys.

I have a three month old female puppy and she sometimes growls when I am completely ignoring her. I don't feel she does it in an aggressive way 'cause she don't seem tense. On the contraire she seems very playful, and I don't know if she just likes vocalizing a lot because it is a very weird growl. I am not very knowledgeable of dogs, so I appreciate someones' insight.

Thank you so much for this. We’ve had a 10 month old for 6 weeks and suffered this virtually every night since we got him. He’s our first beagle so we didn’t know what had hit us. Just tried tethering him when he started zooming and he’s now been asleep for over an hour. First peace we’ve had in weeks at this time. I’ve just seen the light at the end of the tunnel. Clearly it’s early days but at least now we understand the problem and have a solution. Thank you 😊

Hi Beagle lady , good video , loved your passage in The Beagle Handbook , I thought the person in the blue jacket was poor not letting the beagle sniff its the beagle walk not the owners , if you want to walk in a straight line without stoping you can do that on your own , surley when walking a beagle let them enjoy walking with you and sniff and stop and sniff some more , we have a 12 week old beagle Lola who walks in our front garden with her nose to the ground we both enjoy our time together,G

This is great advice, thanks. We have been wrongly thinking we needed to tire him out first, but will try for an earlier bedtime instead. We have had some challenging behaviour (biting) which we realised was probably due to tiredness so I started timing how long he is sleeping for over 24 hours and it is nowhere enough for his age. We were thinking we need to extend the overnight sleeping and you have confirmed this. So glad I have found your channel and FB group.

My 13-year-old beagle still gets the zoomies right after dinner. He will bring me one of his toys and I will give him a food puzzle to work on, and then when he’s done, he settles down for a nap until my husband gets home and he’ll snuggle on the couch while we watch TV.

So jealous about the sun over the bank holiday. Pissed down with rain here. But I worked all weekend anyway. Now.....about zoomies and nighttime. I work all day and on Saturday it’s a late arrival home. So they have both been napping all day. I feel they need the time to play walk etc when I come home. Is that bad? Dutch is 4. Is that adolescent? Loulu goes out has a bit of fun and is happy to eat and snuggle. I want them to be well exercised and loved since I’m out so much

Had a beagle who would resource guard the sofa and her food - especially her food and would growl if you went within a few feet of her eating but tbh I don't think anyone should disturb any dog who's eating (all our other dogs never did this). Is it a beagle thing? However, she would do absolutely anything for 'high value' treat.

I have a beagle who is 12 months old. She is really good I think considering her age, When she was around my friends spaniel who is 6 she was really well behaved, tried to play and then decoded to just follow him around instead after she read that he didn't want to play.. when she is with my mother in laws frenchie who is 9 months old its a different story. The frenchie still nips and pushes into her which then sets my beagle off with the whole mouthing, pinning and playing but my mother in laws she's being aggressive. How do I get my beagle to stay calm when other puppies want to play? I've tried keeping my beagle on lead but that just seems to winde her up more being on a lead.. thanks!x

I just received a morkie rescue pup five days ago, day 1 she was getting used to us so she was standoffish by day two she was all over me following me everywhere. Day five, today I took her to the groomers and she received her 1st haircut but since we’ve been home she’s been growling and barking at me and even attacked my 7 year old son !!! What should I do! I hate to say it but I’m a little bit scared because I don’t want to be bit and every time I get close to her she’s growling and barking. I thought we already established a connection because the last few days she sits in my lap, she lays down with me for a nap but today it’s like we’re back at square one!! Please Help!!

This is giving me great hope. Dutch can be brilliant for 2-3 days and then goes to crap.

Just got my beagle last week he’s 6 months so this should help.

I had to throw the treat several feet away so that I could safely pick up the item. This foster dog would have bit my foot if he could have. Is that OK to throw treat rather than handing it to them?

When my dog is in his bed, anyone else’s bed, the sofa or just sat somewhere it I come over to him he shows all his teeth and low growls at me and I just think right okay then and walk away or I put a muzzle on him to pick him up like this morning I had to be somewhere and has to let him go to the toilet before I left so I just did that but tomorrow I think I am gonna try the things you said in this video and hopefully will help me and my dog. He is a jack russle terrier btw ❤️

I have a Shiba Inu, so she is a primitive breed which means we constantly have people telling us to use the ‘alpha’ method on her, which we will never do. We met with a trainer when she started guarding and soon found out he wasn’t a good trainer... He wanted to use a E-collar on her!! Safe to say it’s the last time we spoke to him. This is a great video, I’m currently already using these methods for her resource guarding, and we haven’t had any problems since December, I finally feel like there is hope 😃.

My moms evil little dog only growls at me whenever I’m around her! I cannot figured out why he does this! I honestly can’t take it any longer.
