i bought this mixer based on your recommendation, and It was super noisy at any level. It basically just illuminated and amplified hiss on all the channels - sorry, but this was a complete hunk of junk.

Not sure what's going wrong but I connect midi and go into settings on both devices and follow the directions, but I am not getting sound from SP-404 when I trigger from Digitakt in chromatic mode. I went up and down octaves. Hopefully it's something obvious.

With 4 channels you can do a lot. All you need is a good break, sampled chord, bass, lead chords and vocal, fx's. Then sequencing and proper effect usage.

Finally have a clear path forward for my gear. Practice on my Model Cycles and PO-14 while saving up for SP404 then eventually add in a DigiTakt II later after that. Now I can stop watching people use gear and start actually using gear. 😂

I just got one of these, and maybe its because I'm a bassist (electric for most of my life, and more recently upright bass), I just love it! I've only recently been getting into the more electronic aspects of music production- sequencing, sampling etc., and this unit hits a sweet spot for me, sound wise, in that I want something that sounds as far from a string instrument as possible (because if I want that, I'll just play one) and there's something very satisfying about the squelchy 'robot having a nervous breakdown in the 1980s' tones you can get with this. Haven't started sequencing yet, just been playing Doors basslines on it for the last few hours, so I've lots still to learn. Feels like this is going to be a lot of fun though!

It sounds like you are not adjusting the Downbeat Divider to the correct slice length. I can hear the snare start at the end of your first slice. Press func + adj and then adjust Value while playing the first slice. Adjust the Downbeat Divider until the slice ends just before the next beat (snare in your example). Then check the next few slices. This sets the same length for all slices equally. As long as your sample is quantized it will work no problem.

Hi! I love your stuff! I often see musicians playing their original music sketches in Reels, such as drummers playing drumbeats. Some Reels have a signature "Producers, sample this", some haven't. So, do you know may I sample theese Reels which don't have allowing signatures without interrupting the copyrights?

On its own it is whimsical chatter as the knobs do mostly nothing.

It’s worth learning to program the patterns and tracks. The clock, accent and slides are equally important to its signature sound as the sound and filters. A Midi controlled sequence will lack character.
