Pilot steals airplane and Kills himself - Career Track 655
มุมมอง 33K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
On January 24th, 2024 Logan James took a Cessna 172 N23107 from ATP flight school in Addison, Texas on his last flight. After one lap in the pattern practicing a touch and go he made a rather chilling final radio call before seemingly pulling the comm1 and comm2 circuit breakers on the airplane. He flew for about an hour before intentionally crashing the plane into a field descending at nearly ...

Private Plane to the Private SKI HILL
มุมมอง 3.7K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Because flying your own airplane is not fun enough all on its own, we decided to level up and mount skis on the landing gear instead of the regular tundra tires. To top it off we ventured out on a beautiful new years day to try a little baby back-country skiing in the Talkeetna mountains! It's just like heli-skiing, but for pilot's that can't afford helicopters! Onilne Course: learn.fly8ma.com/...

มุมมอง 41K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
So how much money does an airline pilot make in 2024??? Well that is going to depend on a number of factors we cover in this video. If you want a quick range of how much you could make as a pilot flying for the airlines, well its roughly $100k-400k per year right now. Here's the latest update on the Haneda Tokyo crash: The A350 was cleared to land. The Dash 8 was not supposed to be on the runway, and had been told to taxi to "spot C5". The Dash 8 got onto the runway, and appeared to be moving from the intersection of C3 towards C5 via RWY 34R instead of via the Taxiway. 2024 Pilot MasterClass (flying Alaska to Florida and back): learn.fly8ma.com/courses/real...

why did they open the door immediately right after landing
interesting I almost never touched the throttle but in this video you both hardly took your hand off throttle. obviously that's what keeps your speed, like a gas peddle, but unless your making a notable adjustment or are getting near 50ish (ex:60) i'd imagine its safe.
They call it a sports vehicle like a snowmobile or skydoo. I call it a frigin AIRPLANE, and you are going to die if you treat it as either of those! Especially with no pilot's license. At half a frigin million dollars I will pay your life insurance if I can be the beneficial. That gives me a higher chance than the lottery to get rich!
"Attitude" indicator 😝🙄
Going into this thinking is just flying and looking at the view jajajaj then they hit you with 273 different acronyms and numbers from the blue bible.
Hey honey, I AM HOME. Look what I bought today
Isn't there Centrifugal Force in a turn?
Centrifugal force is the "equal and opposite reaction" of the airplane to the change in direction and acts equal and opposite to the horizontal component of lift. This explains why, in a correctly executed turn, the force that turns the airplane is not supplied by the rudder.
If that Arrow is a rental then line service should take care of the windscreen and the pilot should double check during preflight
how is towing for 3 countries worth of distance it even legal lol the landing gear, tires, wheels were never designed for that kind of use not to mention it is not exactly new and the rubber and everything else is going bad just sitting there. That's pretty much reckless!
It's Alaska, almost everything is legal. As far as the planes final resting place the weight of the aircraft is supported by steel beams anchored in cement. The tires are fine.
When will you be updating your course to the acs to purchase online?
It will be updated on the 10th of this month. You can purchase the course now and get started on the content, since not much has changed. learn.fly8ma.com/subscription-options/
Hello, sir. I'd like to take your advice. I have two options where to go: Pilot and engineer. But I won't be flying in the US, so a 120k+ salary is out of the question. After analyzing the data, I realized that working as a FO I will get a little more than the average salary, if not less. But a pilot spends 100k on training, 1500 hours of flight time, carries 200 lives, can lose his job due to health at any time, and spoils it throughout the job. What do you recommend?🙏🙏🙏
Aviation is as a career has to be something you are truly passionate about. There is a lot involved to become a commercial pilot so just make sure it is something you really want to do before wasting money on something you may not enjoy. I suggest doing a discovery flight before you are financially committed.
Flight Planing?
Didn't notice the typo. Thanks!
This verified what I thought was a ball park figure. However, it is 7 years old. What is the latest update on costs? If you factor in an additional $15,000 to get your PPL, it is still way out of my league. If I bought it to commute between McClellan and Falcon Field, I doubt that a 150 would beat my Audi. (2 one hour electric charges, and 15 gallons for 800 miles)
Realistically if you own your own aircraft it wouldn't cost you $15k for your PPL. More like $3-5k depending on cost of instruction in your area. You can find a starter aircraft anywhere from $25k-50k in which you can do all your time building in and if it is IFR equipped it would be a plane you can use for all your ratings.
just wondering what do you do for living in order to afford all this , if you could make a video on a the pre requsities for making such a project happen that would be great
I run an online/ in-person flight school. Are you interested in becoming a pilot? fly8ma.com/courses/free-private-pilot-ground-school-pilot-course/
Wait so do we care about the military frequencies?
No, it does not pertain to our operation. Anchorage controls the airspace.
In Germany people forget how to drive a car if there’s not even snow on the road, just being cold and wet outside. Americans: Hold my beer and let me pull an Airplane for thousands of miles through the country on its own driveway and snow on the road 😂
Alaskans know how to drive in the snow.
I could never thank you enough for the effort put into this video. I'm a new CFI and had never understood this diagram as well as I do now. Thanks to you, I can now teach it to my students in a clear and simple way. I love your channel!
how was your ppl checkride
Glad it helped and congratulations on your checkride! FYI As a CFI if you refer us three students we can give you free access to all of our content.
as an aviation lover, it just hurts to watch the DC-9 get destroyed 😭
At least now it's getting used and not just sitting on a tarmac.
I can guarantee you will never lose any REAL friends, because you tell them you are CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR SAFETY!!! Hell, if they keep pushing it, show them this video and ask them if they like their back in one piece?!?!
“Thanks mom”….😂😂😂
Thank you brother! This really gave me a different perspective and honestly being just a private pilot or a CFI is a great option as you can have your own schedules and enjoy the views and make money as well... Literally this video changed the perspective of my life. May Allah give you a long life and guide you as well. Ameen. ♥
Glad it was helpful!
With all the aforementioned elements of setting up this maneuver, the most operative statement was make sure the winds remain in the same as forecasted. Now if the winds aloft are too high or shifting it will be impossible to maintain that pylon thru out the whole 270 degrees around each pylon without getting dangerously close to the ground. You are correct that the set up is the most important.
The one with the helicopter - it's possible, maybe even likely, that if that plane had missed the helicopter as it landed it might have been flipped over by the copter's rotor turbulence landing so soon/close to it.
Agreed!
You and your working crew are ingenious. Congrats.
Thank you very much!
Just amazing! Loved watching this.....thanks so much for doing/posting this. I would live in it in a heart beat!.....although.....maybe in AZ. haha
Glad you enjoyed it!
I admire this kind of creativity and repurposing, well done!!!!!
Whats insurance like
Depends on the pilot and how many hours and what ratings they have.
I have gone mad listening to You - I don’t think our British airways Is the same as the US airlines
I don't understand the difference between true altitude and density altitude?Because you calculate true altitude and denstity altitude, the first the step is to get the PA,then use E6B for the temperature deviation. So both pressure and temperature deviation from the ISA will affect true altitude and density altitude, but how come they are different?Shouldn't they be the same thing?
True altitude is the vertical distance of your airplane above sea level. Whereas density altitude is pressure altitude corrected for temperature.
If there is such a thing as having too much fun, you mates are having it. Lovely video!
We try!
Very good explained
Glad it was helpful!
It doesn’t do any good to see them zoomed in.
"Maybe a kids room down in there" Are you putting kids in the cargo bay 😂
That's the plan HAHA
@@fly8ma.comflighttraining199 why do I smell spaghetti?
I wonder how can i use gi bill for it. Thinking between Mechanical engineering and being a pilot. 🤷🏾
You cant use the GI Bill for your private pilot license but once you have your PPL you can use it for your follow on training at a part 141 school. fly8ma.com/a-veterans-guide-to-soaring-as-a-pilot/
That's like a few million dollars to just buy the plane😮. Why not just built a house?
Not quite a few million, and its a Airbnb on an airstrip. They go hand in hand.
I'm getting ready for my private pilot checkride. I'm stressed whenever I gotta plan a flight and make a nav log. This video helped me understand the wca solution a little better. Thanks!
Glad I could help, and good luck on the checkride!

Oh, I love my neighbors living above me and I need this thing, good idea. I use this video just now.

Pretty much!
lol
Is that a Dc-9?
It is a DC-9, we also have a DC-6 and a 727 on the property.
Might want to avoid ATP if you can people. It’s great if you give your soul to it. But if you don’t want to give them all your money, time and second born child, go somewhere else
Ah, did you get duped by the marketing ads?
I've watched enough ACI to know you stay away from the DC 9 and 10.
HAHA
Why no longer a pilot?
I am still a pilot, I just decided that I enjoyed instructing more than flying for the airlines.
How much cost
It was expensive.
I used to work on those in the Air Force.
Asbestos my freind... great fir the lungs
It didn't have asbestos after just sitting there for all those years. I doubt it would develop it now.
@fly8ma.comflighttraining199 lol no, I was giving ya an option to use for insulation.....maybe not a good option, but atleast I participated!!!😋
@@bitrage. HAHAHA thanks!
