Thank you!! I have my checkride February 12th, your videos have helped me from PPL to CFI. I tell my students about your videos all the time during our debrief.
6 P's Proper Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance.(LOL). ODDA loop, Observe, Orient, Decide, Act, repeat. Radar can help to avoid CFIT. The autopilot can be used to reduce distractions. Also, use a flow followed up with the written checklist. SA: What just happened, what is happening now and what is likely to happen next. Use the autopilot when you have many things to do or if you are beginning to get vertigo. There are times when you should turn on automation and times when you should turn it off. Train your students to be proficient with and without automation. You could look into the POH for a diagram of the various systems. For my CFII checkride I had to fly with an FAA Examiner at the time I took it. In the oral he said, "I know you know how to teach an ILS approach but I don't know if you can teach an ADF approach, teach me how to fly and ADF approach. So I did. Then when we got into the aircraft he said (you know what's coming) "I know you can fly an ILS approach but I don't know if you can fly and ADF approach. Fly to the NDB and hold followed by an ADF approach". I did and passed the exam! You may be too young to know what an ADF approach is. (That was a joke LOL)
I'm a student pilot prepping for my checkride and I watched the Mock Oral PPL video from this channel --- and I'm not sure where Stephanie was in her Pilot journey in that video but wow, the growth and CONFIDENCE that she has now really shows. This is great to see and is inspiring. Great Channel FLY8MA!
A great discussion. On the topic of changing the heading to avoid a storm. I understand you need ATC permission if there is enough time. However, there may be circumstances where you need to do it quickly and the ATC is busy. As PIC, can't you change the heading to avoid flying into a storm, then explain later why you did that?
Great video but any instructors oral check ride is typically on the CFI to present a lesson as if the examiner is the student. Mine let me do all the talking while throwing questions out of left field. Avoid Wesley Cash in AZ like the plague.
Sorry to read about you and Stephanie. Still remember the day you were emptying your hangar at KVNC. I am still renting one there. Best of luck moving forward.
Can u talk about what happens if u don't have a 4 year degree. Please say it's not a requirement anymore but what's the reality when u apply for jobs. 2 pilots same everything but one has a 4 year and one doesn't
I’ve heard a couple of recruiters say if they have two applicants that are the same except one has a degree then they will definitely choose him. Although when they need enough applicants it might not make a crazy difference.
Really wanted to watch this but the sound is really too harsh or too sterile (bodily sounds were annoying) and off topic/side convos added unnecessary length. Also I was hoping this covered all required topics of the CFII Add-on in the PTS. This doesn't scratch the surface in that regard.

Best of luck Abbie!
This is insane, 5 months ago I first watched the simulated private pilot checkride you and Stephanie did and know we're here wow!

I know right cool to see a 0-hero story

Glad you enjoyed it and hopefully your confidence progresses as you move through your ratings. Best of luck!

If it’s absolutely necessary and you can’t reach them yes, but you should try to contact them well enough in advance that you do not have to do that
I’m taking CFII ride next week as well, i wish i could just watch the full video, it is a great review
Good luck josh!
This is great. Taking my CFII in 2 weeks, how do I wach the rest of the vodeo? Do you guys have an instructor portal for my students?

What happened?!
Regarding the legality of that panel, I did not see any ADS-b buttons.
Magnetic compass I believe
I think my CFII checkride was easier than my initial instrument checkride. Both ground and flight portions.
umm, well its always best to over prepare
@@fly8ma.comflighttraining199 no such thing as over preparing when it comes to a CFI checkride 🙂
I’m roto craft but you have helped me so much just finished my CFI yesterday onto the next 🙏🏻💪🏼🤘🏻
When does the CFII acs come out?
Great question…FAA said 2017
There is no CFII ACS. They made a mistake in the video saying one was coming out. CFII is still PTS with a fresh version this year
Stephan laughs so good! Fly8 don’t get jealous now 😅, I love you guys, keep up the good stuff
Needed this last month 😢

Most employers don’t care, flight time and experience trump education

Does the CFII ADCS also come out at the end of May 2024?
No, they are still finalizing the ACS for CFII
Not quite ready.
Thank you for this video!!❤❤
You are so welcome!
