It's always a good feeling when you have a great hobby day. I still haven't gotten my address confirmation email, but I'm relatively patient hah. I don't think CGL will have another massive Kickstarter again, they SHOULD have enough cash infusion from the Mercs KS to keep new stuff produced, especially based on the roadmap. I do wish they would have more consistent comms, but it is what it is. I know a few folks who are frustrated because their entire order is held up by a single missing piece of swag. I suspect that's why I haven't gotten the email, since I was one of those backers who decided to support House Arano :P Looking forward to your unboxing video. Cheers mate.

Would like to see close ups of the mechs, always felt you don’t have to be golden demon painter to really get some nice looking mechs on the table. Not sure if it’s the scale or the fact that they are just big vehicles. Can’t wait to see more.

West coast US here, complete silence on delivery. Super disappointing that I paid for this project to happen, but I can pay less in a store for the same product. Next time I'll just wait for it to be in store.

WizKidz was really trying to reduce the IP to fewer factions for streamlined marketing and it was a stupid mistake. I'm also not sure I like how Clan Sea Fox is becoming the new Comstar. They are going to have to be very careful with this new lore. (Yeah, I'm responding in realtime as I watch, LOL.

I was completely uninterested in the extras. If it doesn't fit comfortably on the shelf, I don't want it. Even painted miniatures go back into the original box because they fit on a shelf. Fruit of the Loom t-shirt with a logo on it? No thanks. Challenge coin? Nope. Patches, maps, dice? NO! Just gimme my mini's and my books. And the thing I am the most interested in is the books and they do not cost any less by going through the KS than they do through my local gaming store. So I would much rather buy the books I want whenever I want while supporting not just a local business, but someone I have known for 20 years. Yes, the minis were about half price if you bought in at a large pledge, but then you get all this other stuff that is useless to me. I don't need a 'good deal', good deals are what you need for a car or appliances...you know, things that actually important. Anyway...you seem to be the only one I rant to, probably because I have the space to :p

I hope you are joking about GW / CGL and foreign buyers. Just imagine for a moment, Apple being deliberately shit at stocking foreign distributors would be moronic. It’s not some cool business strategy to lose sales. If CGL want to grow outside the US, which is a LESS SATURATED market with more room for growth, they need to act on the problems. There’s a gap in the Au market, because GW does exchange rate plus 30% markup. This is something they started about 15 years ago. They used to pack and distribute in AU, they used to have a WD studio here. Now they have less active stores and stockists than they’ve had since the 90s. And the only thing stopping CGL from taking some market share is their inability to get products into the numerous highly supportive hobby stores.

*Leviathans: The Great War entered the chat* A CGL kickstarter which funded eight months BEFORE Mercenaries and just now started making molds.

I got mine, and just went by the Catalyst booth at Nova, was surprised with the new Star League boxes with pre-painted mechs.

Store credit for anything that needs to be shipped is not working outside of the US. My main benefit is to buy the stuff I cannot buy anywhere else because I cannot get shipments from Catalyst without ridiculous shipping costs

paid on may 13th and still have nothing from QML i should of been in this segment in the usa and the last time i emailed QML they said i was in the queue and that was i july 17th

It's all about the plastic! I wanted in on this Kickstarter for 1 reason. With the release of the quads and the Osts we have finally reached the point where ALL of the Unseen standard mechs are available in plastic. Soon GONE will be the days when players had to search the net and take a risk and overpay on auction sites for poorly painted half mangled Unseen and scour over lots for parts! For those of us that went through the decades of that the release of these mechs is a massive victory. The only thing really left is I wish we could get Scroggins to do proper artwork for classic versions of the 3 OG LAMs. Given the current environment I don't know if that can happen, but these units are the only ones left without new artwork/minis. I know a lot of people don't like them and the rules are scattered, but an LAM forcepack of either all 3 in Airmech mode or seperate packs of each chassis in 3 modes would sell like crazy.

I'm still waiting on my confirmation email but I am one of the backers affected by the inventory shortages (Arano coin, specifically). From the communications, it at least sounds like the shortages can be addressed using existing inventory being shifted from other hubs rather than waiting for product being manufactured. I'm hoping the remaining North American backers waiting on this will have their stuff shipped within the next few weeks, and rest of the world will start seeing movement on their orders by that time. Communications-wise, the project has been a bit of a nightmare in these recent months with the shipping issues and some of the quality control issues that have also come up. I think the staff who have been handling communications are in a rough spot. The public facing individuals have done their best to keep backers informed, but they are held back waiting on approvals and confirmations from various internal and external parties. From what I've seen on the Discord and streams, it seems that last KS update was ready to post for a couple days but had to be held until approvals were received. I think future Catalyst releases of big Battletech waves like this should not be reliant on Kickstarters to get them going. CGL should be at a point where they can feel comfortable with a regular release cadence of product, and have enough capital built up to allow for big release waves to ride on retail sales and hype. My worry is that they will continue to apply the Kickstarter model to both small and big releases. I could see smaller CGL product releases using Kickstarter as a means to support new, unknown IP like their smaller board games. But larger product releases should not continue to rely on the goodwill of backers to fund them. Their ballooning scope invites more public scrutiny on their manufacturing and logistics capability, and all the missteps get magnified in the public discourse.

Peoples personal units are one of my favorite parts of the BattleTech universe, as is shows their personal vestments into the game (as long as it is not some tired iteration of “look at my Merc unit from 3050 that consists entirely of pristine Mad Cats” which I know your’s is not). Reinforced Regiment... heh. That's Scope Creep there Mr Project Manager! Granted, my plan for painting the two Comstar Level II boxes expanded into a Level III and now a reinforced Level III. The good news is I'm actually painting, not just collecting!

I actually want the miscellaneous swag since most of the plastic will be available for less money within a couple of months anyway. I'd just wait.

I'm reminded of a lecture in sociology class about how Perestroika reforms in the Soviet Union only led to people being more demanding and ultimately the downfall of the government. Because once people see that things can happen, they immediately want all the change right then and there and get very pushy about it. The vitriol some Europeans have about the delays in their KS shipments getting to them have been surprising, but I think it's a matter of expectations. They were expecting June, or maybe before June, they're seeing other people get their orders, and it's just like every new week is an eternity. When Catalyst, if they had competent PR staff could have been setting expectations for shipments arriving to hubs during the summer, and at least a four month long process to deliver everybody's order. After the campaign ended last year, it would have been very easy to say, "We've added lots of content to the factory order, it's going to take a long time, we should see product arrive to hubs in the summer, but don't expect to get your stuff before fall of 2024." If they come in early they still get all the credit, and people would have less reason to act like their hair is on fire just because their Kickstarter stuff is going to be two months late.

Oh, I got my Kickstarter order July 5th in Ohio, my friend in California got his shipping confirmation two days ago.

Hard to believe them anything with the rare and vague updates. They might just wait for the Q4 EU retail shipments to fill in the spots. I also don't think local delivery at this point is in high priority as there are other projects in the schedule for sure. Or is the EU warehouse staff just chilling for the last 3 months? haha

I'm glad you do not care about product being in store before it fulfills, but I am very angry about that. When I order something, in a KS context where they are using crowdfunding to launch a product line, that product should go to the people who crowdfunded it 1st. I don't think it is fair, from an ethics sense, and if the rules about crowdfunding weren't so lax I think this would be a major issue.... It feels like Catalyst made so much money from this KS that they could launch product road maps for the future. Instead of taking care of customers that gave them that money, they care about what will release in 2025, because they got that money already.

A lot of things that people forget is 3rd party logistics is a chess match. You have things go places, but they don't always end up there. I agree that some aspects may have been better communicated, but if it hinges on 3rd party responses, there is no response until those happen. I would rather QML focused on fixing things than talking about fixing things. (and no, I have not gotten mine yet either, in the US, and I'm okay with it as my order is insanely large)

Yeah, I'm very disappointed in the miscommunication and shipping costs. One and done with kickstarter for me. Just not that big a deal though, and I'm still a Battletech fan.

I got an email from Aetherworks a couple of weeks ago for a different Kickstarter I ordered. It essentially said they had received that Kickstarter and they'll start shipping it out in around a month. I am almost certain Aetherworks will be the distribution company again for the Mercenaries Kickstarter even though Catalyst swore them off during the Clan Invasion Kickstarter since apparently they're the only Kickstarter shipping company in Australasia or something. Knowing this, assuming the Mercenaries Kickstarter will get the same treatment, I think I can safely assume that the Kickstarter goods have not reached Australia yet. In other words, it's definitely coming in 2025 like I have assumed from the very start of this Kickstarter and will continue to assume until further notice :P This is literally the exact same pattern as the last Kickstarter.

New to channel, love Your idea about the houses and the units what are your thoughts on Wolf’s Dragoons since they have worked for every major house. They have always been my favorite and when they reviled they were from the clan it was a shock. I was one of first 2500 backers paid my shipping minutes after price was set, I’ve been playing battletech since 1985 we used all the little cardboard mechs and still have them and several regiments of metal mechs,tanks,infantry and fighters. Biggest problem is like you said lack of communication just give us some kind of answers on system to shipping

I have to disagree. You should be loyal to those who backed you early and with large orders. They were willing to really help your KS so you should have gotten them the stuff first. It is all plastic toys we don't really need in the end, but, I want them. 😂

1200.00 kickstarter here, it has been received and cant wait for more of it to be offered on the market. Best friend backed MYST, it took over 4 years for his. CGL has done a pretty good job in my opinion.

Very spot on commentary on the KS. I'm not miffed about getting it later. I would love to have it at the same time as the US, but ok, doesn't work like that. What I find absolutely catastrophic is the messaging by CGL, treating the rest of the world like it doesn't exist. And while I don't have your professional background I do have to do PR/communication decisions as well.
