9:36 I've been playing battletech since crescent hawks the first game and even got one of the 1000 phoenix hawk LAM miniatures for beating it and have played every game on PC and console as well. I played the board/miniatures game as well. Point is I can't wait. Bring it. Very impatient here lol.
I nerded out so hard when I saw the launch trailer. I've been excited for the game up to this point, but now I can hardly wait to get my hands on it. I've been wanting a game from the clan perspective for so, so long.
I agree. The trailer absolutely nails the look, tone and lore of the Clans to an extent that I might as well have been watching a trailer for a major motion picture I'd stand in line for. And given how bland the story was in MW5 Mercenaries, it's like having a friend who can barely make Kraft macaroni and cheese a couple of years ago, and then one day you head over and he's a Michelin star chef cooking something that would make Gordon Ramsey speechless. Nothing, absolutely nothing I have ever seen in any Battletech related property so perfectly captures the tone, violence, almost alien culture, and terrifying fanaticism that the clans were presented as in the books like that trailer does, and frankly, the trailer makes the BOOKS look like amateur hour in comparison. Battletech is already booming but this is going to really, really make it blow up I think. The lore has always been amazing, and finally, someone made a game that does the lore side actual justice.
Yes yes yes. I cannot wait to check out the digital goodies like the art book! Man, 170 pages of mech loadouts and they will update it after release. Everyone should support this game.

As soon as I saw the trailer, I was like, "Those mad bastards! They FINALLY DID IT!" This game looks and sounds truly amazing, and is yet another step in bringing the Mechwarrior series more into canonicity, and farther away from the apocryphal or wildly inaccurate (*Coughs* MWO... MW4 Vengeance...). At least they haven't doubled down on the stupid and tried to reboot the very DEAD MechAssault series.

Ghost Bear. I think they need to give you the Clan experience. The Good guys in the Lore are not defined. Just bc you like the IS doesn’t mean they are they good guys. Each faction has their redeeming qualities and their own faults. If you always side with the IS why even fight for the Clans and get their side? It’s bc their story is compelling. From the Exodus to the invasion how the clans never forgot their mission given by Alexander Kerensky. While in the Innersphere only whispered about the long lost and forgotten star league. These people forgot they even existed. For 8 Centuries the Clans waited 800 yrs to return. I’d rather fight and die for the clan than be forced to be a soulless, homeless Innersphere merc that has no impact on the actual story of Battletech.

You can point to the invasion and the glassing of Turtle Bay but the IS has done so much worse and yet somehow find a way to say the Clans are worse bc they are a warrior society. The Clans goals are so much more interesting than the IS.
I think this is what the fandom wanted when MW5 first came out: a story heavy, focused narrative that gets us booked from the very first hour. I felt like Mercs and the dlcs really missed the mark.
I disagree, at least for me. I played the MW4 games over and over again for 18 years praying for an open map, moddable, mechwarrior game and MW5M delivered.

Of all the intolerant oppressive clans there was only one worse, Clan Mongoose, and they were absorbed into Clan Smoke Jaguar. But that's okay because SPOILERS (for a 25 year old game based on a 35 year old story) in Mechwarrior 3 we exterminated Clan Smoke Jaguar.

Apparently there's 90 mins of cinematic cut scenes in the game. That's a good sized movie worth.
