Sounds real good amigo Am I seeing more sargasso in the water out away from shore ?
I stopped going downtown in 2018. I have been on the westside since '05, the city has just nosedived. People are still in denial, locals mostly. Drugs are a real issue here. People ODing or just in the Fent lean, is common. Homelessness is still a huge issue.
Agreed, long way to go to get back to “normal”. Thanks for sharing your thoughts
This neighborhood is a bad example of house prices. The homes in Laurelhurst have always been expensive and really have not gone up in price as much as the mid level homes.
Valid point for sure. Thanks for watching
I think that was my dog lol
Happy and lucky dog!!! 🐶
Is that Collectivo location in Playa del Carmen? Definitely going to try and visit this Cenote when I come to town.
Yes it’s in PDC!! It’s totally worth a visit! So peaceful and healing
Can an affluent neighbourhood get gentrified?
Great question… hopefully someone here in the comments has an answer. I feel like it is possible though. Thanks for watching
Could it be things are stabilizing after Uncle George's and Uncle Klaus's venture capital ran out?
Just wondering if you sharpened the video in post ....looks like a bit too much of digital sharpening happening here just like phone cameras do.
Great question! I actually did not sharpen in post at all. Thanks for checking out the video
New subbie. Thanks for the video!
Welcome to the channel Michelle! 🇲🇽❤️😎🏝️
What's CTM?
Great question! CTM is the street that divides the Centro and Colosio neighborhoods here in Playa Del Carmen.
Yes yesterday sargasum down next to Lido near the angled lighthouse. And it smelled more like sewer, too but lunch at Lido was great!
Thanks for the update Lisa! Glad to hear lunch was delicious ❤️🏝️😎🇲🇽
I was born in Portland ,so was my 4 year old daughter, it's a great city.i live in the country now.less traffic and chaos.but Portland is chill for a city.
I'm in PDC and walked in front of Renzo's and saw that you're back here! I haven't been up to date on my TH-cam binges lately, so I'm happy to see you back! If I run into you, I'll shout out! Oh, and 500 Gramos was good, I went in July for my 50th! Hope you're still enjoying UNO! 😂
Great to hear from you Jiji!! Hope to see you around! I’ll have to try 500 Gramos soon. I went to a different spot on the weekend and was impressed enough to do a video on it… that’s coming out tomorrow 🥩❤️😎🫶🇲🇽. And yes, UNO is never-ending fun, thanks!!
Coming from someone thats lived here for 40 plus years, its still disgusting. Sadly, people that are saying "its a beautiful city" have ABSOLUTELY no clue to what it truly was like prior to how its like now (you dont know what you dont know, kinda thing) It will take a solid 15 to 20 years to get back to its original amazing self again.
Thanks for sharing! Sadly, I agree. I wouldn’t move back at this time as things are.
You videos have been very helpful with planning my trip. Coming in January, wondering if you would be there.
Glad to hear it!! I’m usually around all of high season unless I plan a trip to Colombia or something of that nature. Thanks for watching the video 😎🏝️🇲🇽❤️
@ Sounds good! When I arrive hopefully you’re there, and maybe we can grab drinks and food .. Stay safe my friend, and continue to post.. Your content is the best.
Glad to see a new Playa video, thanks. What happened to PV? Do you still prefer PDC? Why?
Thanks Kirk! I still prefer PDC. Beach volleyball scene is better, great Maya Reef for snorkeling, and a younger group of expats and transplants that I tend to relate to better than the older crowd in Vallarta. The cenotes are also such a nice benefit of the PDC area. Thanks for checking out the video 🇲🇽🏝️😎❤️
Hey there!! I've always wanted to know what those abandoned buildings are at 13:55? Maybe you know? I can see them from my balcony 😂
Haha I truly can’t say for sure but if I had to guess I would say underfunded “big ideas” that fell short of completion. Thanks for checking out the video Patricia! 🏝️❤️🇲🇽😎☀️
Great to see you Back in Playa . Great video . I love the Vibe at Coco Beach . I am trying to Decide where to stay Longterm . I am considering staying In the Colonia Hollywood area because it is Close to Evolve Fitness Gym . Which I Go to every day . Also I am considering Staying near 38th . I would like to Go to the Beach Every Day . I prefer Quieter , less crowded Beaches . Do you have a recommendation of What area I should Stay ?
I really like the Hollywood neighborhood as well and I was just over there and saw a TON of “se renta” signs so I think that’s a great place to start! Happy hunting and thanks for checking out the video ❤️🏝️🇲🇽😎
@theropemonster Thank You , Enjoy PDC , You seem Happy there ! I hope to Arrive In 2 weeks .
We all think the problems in our cities are somehow special and unique, but these issues -- housing problems/homelessness/fentanyl -- are hitting cities across the country (I've seen them first hand red and blue states), and WFH for 25 million people completely shifted where people live around LCOL and to smaller towns. I think despite everyone feeling more divided than ever, people in Portland are actually coming more together towards a middle ground on being "compassionate" and having a clean livable city, and our core problem isn't about ideas so much as failure of elected officials to execute.
Thank you for sharing! coming to playa Del Carmen Dec.1st and going to visit that little cenote right next to our hotel and major thx for your vid on beach erosion.
My pleasure and thanks for watching!! The weather is PERFECT right now too! Have a great trip down and enjoy the healing waters of the cenote and river! 🏝️😎🇲🇽❤️
Heyyy RopeMonster, I'm just not sure why your 1st playa video showed up after your 2nd video..😶 but no matter. The quality is quite good in both videos and I like the realistic sound od wind n wave, the sound is definitely not overwhelming. Your voice comes thru great. On another note, we got held up in 'The City' cdmx, a little longer than planned, but all good, headed to playa in a couple days. And, yes you look more like yourself now, i think after you guys got sick a few months back, you didn’t fully recover until now. Lookin healthy. Thanks for all your content and good vibes.
Thanks my friend!! Really appreciate the feedback! Yea that Dengue and food poisoning double whammy was a tough one but I’ve been putting in the work as far as diet, rest, exercise, herbs etc and the sun and salt water are the X factors no doubt! Great to be healthy again! Hope to see you guys around town 🏝️🇲🇽❤️😎
awesome video. i literally started typing where is jorges and then you said it lol.
Haha nice!! He’s actually injured now after a scooter accident and not there at the moment but he’ll be back soon!
Add three zeros to your vid title and you'll have the correct number.
Smells of MRNA...and piss.
The boards are up because of the election. They are all down now The city is doing SOOOOO much better. Great video, man!
Thanks for the update my friend, much appreciated!
Thank you for this...I've lived in Portland for 4 years
Awesome, thanks for checking out the video my friend
Currently watching this video I have some questions As you walked North on 5th passed CTM. I see towards that direction there are some construction sites going on across 500 Gramos Grill. When we were there in October I only walked up to aloft hotel too but walked along 10th going north. When we were there we stayed at a Hilton property called the Fives Residences which sell but once we found out it was like a timeshare, etc which I’m not interested at all. Looking for something I can just leave our clothes behind and come in & out as we pleased. 1) still checking to see if Playa is an area of Mexico want to buy a condo or apartment. Do you find going up North of 5th prices are much more than walking down South of 5th? 2) High season do you see much of a price difference on stays? In the USA especially here in Texas or California we need a car to get anywhere vs Europe or Mexico we utilize our feet 👣, cycling 🚴, public transportation Thinking of taking another flight back to playa just to get in my steps
I love the walkability here too it’s incredible!! I would say yes, there’s definitely a noticeable difference between low and high season and it can be a good idea to lock in a long term lease during low season to secure a better price. North of CTM is still cheaper by far and especially north of 72 until 88 there are some good values to be had! Hope that helps and am actually planning a video on rents soon! Haven’t done one of those videos since July so it’s time for an update! Thanks for watching ❤️🏝️🇲🇽😎
@ great 👍🏻 excited to see rental prices. Thank you for bringing us amazing updates on Playa
Make a follow up video walking the same streets at 9pm
Such a solid idea!! Back in Mexico though so it will be some time in the future. Thanks for watching
Some great tips here, thanks! Will be heading to Playa Del Carmen within the next couple of weeks, excited to try out the restaurant you mentioned! ✌
Awesome!! Glad the video helped and hope to see you around 🏝️😎
Q vistas tan increíbles desde arriba ❤well done 🎉
@@anayvis gracias corazón!! 🫶
When I come back to playa del Carmen soon I am shopping there to help support the local community. I love Mexico and the people. I am bummed I am not there now.
After 1 or so a great place for hanging out in the shade is the wall with the artwork down on playacar .
So true!! And crazy you mentioned that spot, I was just heading that way to film! Thanks for sharing that tip, sounds like you really know Playa! 🏝️
Heyyy, RopeMonster, looks like you are back in sunny Playa del Carmen. Thats awesome my friend. Enjoy and thank you for the content once again.
Yes so great to be back in the land of sun and endless beaches!! Always great hearing from you 🏝️❤️
Regular at playa really enjoyed your video 👌🇨🇦
Thanks my friend, glad you enjoyed it! 🏝️😎❤️
I tried to find that path last year and couldn't.
I hope this video helps you get there!! It’s hidden but definitely worth knowing about! Thanks for watching 😎🏝️❤️
Thank you for this realistic view of our city of roses.
My pleasure. Thanks for watching!
beautiful beach
Not hearing any wind, action 5 is doing good!
Awesome, thanks for the feedback Alfred!
Nice to see that you’re back in PDC! The new camera looks and sounds great! Can’t wait to come back.
Thanks for the feedback Kris!! It’s great to be back 🏝️😎
Hola Ropemonster - are you back in PdC? I will be there from january 31 and stay 2 months. Maybe we can meet for a coffee :)
Hola Bjarne!! Yes, home sweet home just here enjoying life! Coffee sounds great! Thanks for checking out the video 😎🏝️

My pleasure, I really enjoyed filming this one… barefoot the whole time and that sun sure felt great! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for sharing these beautiful scenes and the information aboutPlaya del Carmen it looks so beautiful and sunny there love the mini aerial shots of the water. Thank you for sharing all of this with us.
I truly enjoy bringing you all this content and am so appreciative of your feedback!! Really glad you liked the drone shots too! My 3rd time ever flying it 😊. Thanks for watching ❤️🏝️🇲🇽
First! Coming there soon!
Sound quality is super nice brah! Cheers to your wellness hommi love seeing you blasting outta the gauntlet like you’ve been doing. Proud of you brah!
Thanks my friend, that never give up, warrior mindset is key!! Got a lot of that from you bro! Much love and I hope you’re on that healing journey and self-love… I already know you are though! Been digging your 🎸 jams a lot lately! 😎🏝️
Would have been better with captions, indicating where you are walking. Or even better maybe a Google map every now and then when you start talking about one of the places you're at. listening to you describe the places wasn't always clear where you were and I was unable to find all the places on Google maps based on your verbal descriptions.
Great advice! I’ve been doing a better job of that in recent videos like my series from Mexico City but admittedly don’t always get to it. Thanks for the feedback and for checking out the video 🇲🇽🏝️😎
U Need 2 listened 2 .. X 🎸🥁🎸🎤 .. Worlds a Mess .. Then Get Use 2 It ....
Noted haha, thanks for watching
all you can find there is drunk tourists and drugged tourist laying on the sidewalks lol
😅😅… there’s definitely a lot of that here! But I would say there’s more to this place than that if you look for it! Volleyball, cenotes, hiking, secret beaches, great food, yoga scene etc. Thanks for watching ❤️🇲🇽🏝️😎
Great video…we will be there for New years. Gracias
Great to hear that Osvaldo! Let me know if you have any areas of town or a particular beach you’d like me to cover before your trip down! Thanks for checking out the video ❤️🏝️🇲🇽
You couldn’t just goto a different atm?
Great question! The Banamex is the only one that does well with my bank. The other ones give terrible exchange rates and/or charge super high fees like $180mxn instead of $32. Thanks for checking out the video ❤️🏝️🇲🇽
