Wow! What a great video. Thank you so much!! Sad to see the beach eroded, but still going to have a great time. My wife and I got married at El Taj in 2012. Havent been back to Playa since. Going to be an awesome trip! I owe ya a taco and cerveca. Thanks again brother. Keep movin!
Beautiful that you guys are coming back to where it all began!! Really glad you enjoyed the video and thanks again for inspiring me to do this one! ❤️🏝️😎☀️
Man love the deep dive on the PDC area - so much to explore! It'd be awesome if you went some of the lesser known beaches or cenotes in the area. I know there are endless cenotes, many of which are practically unknown and offer a spectacular experience.
Hey Dan, another excellent & informative video. Folks need to enjoy Mamitas and that great beach while they can, as unfortunately, next year, Mamitas Beach Club will be torn down & replaced with a new condo project called ZONNA. No bueno for us beach walkers, with similar disruption a few years ago next to Martina Beach Club with IT Beach Condos built in front of a couple of my condos.
Yes that’s such sad news but thanks for sharing that here so people are aware, the clock is ticking and nothing stays the same. Thanks for checking out the video my friend 😎🏝️☀️
Hey. Another great and informative video, thanks. We arrive in Playa mid-Jan, staying on Calle 14 Nte just off 5th so appreciate the beach updates. Jan 2024 we walked to Playa Punta Esmeralda by sidewalk and road from 5th, then back on the beach all the to way Playa Del Amor without leaving the sand. It’s was an incredible walk. But not this coming Jan I feel, we’ll see… Keep filming…🎥🎬
Wow that’s one heck of a walk Mike!! You guys must be pretty fit and love the beach as much as I do! Thanks for watching and looking forward to seeing you guys around! 😎🏝️☀️
Yes Kirk it does indeed change from storm to storm, week to week and month to month. Here moreso than other coastal places I’ve lived. Thanks for checking out the video 😎🏝️☀️
Hi, I love your videos and how you cover the status of the beaches. Planning on going to Playa end of February for the first time maybe staying at Grand Hyatt. Can you do a video of the beach in front of that hotel and its surroundings? The reviews have complains there's constant music playing next to that hotel and not sure if there beach front is any good.
Hi, I’m glad you like the content! I believe the last scene of this video was actually filmed in front of the Grand Hyatt, just south of Mamitas! As far as the loud music… that comes from one particular club just north of the Grand Hyatt, but hasn’t been an issue as of late because they’ve been closed. The beach in that area is ample but there’s a little bit of sargassum washing up lately! I’m sure I’ll do another video in that area before your trip though. Thanks for watching 😎🏝️☀️
The beach will come back in many places. Generally speaking, every Autumn the beach erodes. Then in late January the beach starts to come back. Also, if you stay on the beach all day the water level does not change. That is because Playa has almost no tide. Where I live in Canada we have very high tides twice a day. Playa is not like that at all.
Great informative video thank you so much. We have decided to try Tulum for the first time this winter for a couple of months we usually stay in Playa but wanted a change this winter...do you have any idea how the beaches are there? Always look forward to your videos a great way to keep up to date on everything Playa!!!...thanks again...viv&darrell
Howdy Viv and Darrell! First of all, thanks for always supporting the channel! I’ll be heading down to check out the beaches at Tulum and might continue down to Bacalar on the same spot de journey! I hear the beaches are great as of now with little to no sargassum 😎🏝️☀️❤️
Good Report. But nothing is going to change, magically, in a month on those eroded beaches. Good to be positive, but climate change doesn't change in months. If anything, Playa is lucky now there is not much sargassum, now that could change for the worse. Aplus videos you do. Even here in Cozumel, we have better beaches than Playa.

I definitely have a couple of the “secret cenotes” on my radar!! Thanks for the suggestion! 😎🏝️☀️❤️

Thanks!!! You said, “things change”. The beaches come and go? Erode and restore? I never lived on the beach.
