Johnny Angel was #1 in the Boston area for several weeks. We all knew every word. She was hysterically funny in Coach. Love her husband too. Great interview.
She seems really nice
She sure looks uncomfortable
Loved the series of Family. Gary Frank, what a wonderful man you are. You are an incredible actor.
That's Jody! Hi Jody👋So sorry about Anissa. I never knew.
I always liked how he portrayed Willy in Family.
I love that show Family. 😊
❤ GARY FRANK ❤❤❤❤
Thank You Larry for Sharing! We, agree with Your Children " Your like a Cat with 10 Lives " 😊 Great Show John, Thank You 💕
She's in her 80s but still has a very sweet young voice.
Isn’t that the truth😀
32:00 that's correct, my 15 year old Daughter and I watch a few episodes of CHiPs each weekend when she stays with me. Initially she was only watching because she thought Eric Estrada was cute, but now she loves the entire cast and show.
Pretty cool to enjoy that time with your daughter👍
Thank you for this interview. Had not heard anything since the last episode. Absolutely loved the show. Always liked Gary
My pleasure Lorilee, glad you found it and it brought back some great memories. Happy Holidays!
What an amazing life Rich Correll has lived. Absolutely fascinating interview. Of all the interviews I’ve watched on your channel so far, although Rich is not one of the bigger names from back in the day, for me, he certainly was the most interesting.
Thanks Joe, the interview with Rich is definitely one of my personal favorites😀
@ You’re welcome John👍
I have the gift on DVD.gary frank was superb in the lead.i was born in 1975.i wish the TV movie senior year and the TV series sons and daughters was on DVD.i heard it is a better quality show than happy days.
Cool you have The Gift on DVD. Have heard both Senior Year and Sons and Daughters are both great.
@ThatsClassicTV I forgot to mention in my post that a few months ago I bought a photo of Gary Frank in his sailor uniform from the movie the gift.his performance touched and inspired me so.the movie would not have been the same without him.
Thank you for the interview.i was born in 1975.i watched reruns of family on the nostalgia channel in the 1990s.
Very cool Eugene!
Thanks for the 2-part interview, John! I could listen to Gary's stories all day🙂
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Gary has a lot of great stories to tell!
Awesome interview!
Thank you!
I can still hear the theme song in my head.
It is wild how that happens😀
My favorite show growing up. I always wanted to be part of the “Family”.
I think you are not alone, they were just a great family😀
The episode Gary is talking about at 5:50 is one of the episodes where scenes had to be reshot with Meredith Baxter (Nancy #3) after Jane Actman (Nancy #2) was let go. If you look closely at the end of the episode, when Kate and Doug are talking in the living room, you can see a picture of Jane Actman on the piano.
Thanks Jared, that is a really neat secret moment. I will watch for that.
I loved this interview , John! I watched Part 1 as well! I loved Gary Frank on “Family” and loved hearing all the stories about other shows he was on and how nice the actors and actresses were towards him!
Thanks Diane, glad it was a special one for you! Gary is a great person with some wonderful life experiences.
Every episode Gary Frank was on was fine acting and very entertaining. FAMILY was a great drama and I still love it.
I hear you Frederick, Family is still a top notch drama😀
Watched the Donna Reed Show every week. Your song "My Dad" is played by me every Father's Day. My Dad passed in 2017 at 90, but I still play that song on Father's Day every year.
Thanks for sharing, very touching regarding your Dad❤️
I love that show, I wish I could have lived in that house...sometimes when I dream, Im sleeping in Nancy's old bedroom, Buddy's across the hall, Willie's down the hall and mom and dad are in their bedroom....i feel safe in this dream.
Thanks for sharing your dream, what an amazing household😀
Why do you interviewers never ask about the unexpected death of Will Geer and the impact it had on the cast. I've watched a large number and not one person asks about it.
I will try to remember that the next time I interview a Waltons cast member.
I remember him being on a 5th season episode of ‘Charlie’s Angels’ that was filmed in Hawaii.
That is very cool and especially since it was shot in Hawaii😀
Family was my favorite show, I never missed an episode. Loved Sada.
Sada was like an aunt of mine!
@dbelcher3249 Really? She's my favorite TV mom, hands down. There was something about her that was so warm and endearing.
@@gokuvegeta3163 I totally agree what you are saying. She never wore pants. Very understanding woman.
She really was such a warm character as a mother😀
Oh yeah love that tv show watch it all the time.
Great to hear, Billy is a classic😀
Stanley & Barry Livingston are both very humble nice guys. Looks like they had the grounding from their families and didn't fall into the trap of other child stars. Thank you for this video.
My pleasure Karen, I know both of them and their upbringing as well as the cast of My Three Sons kept them grounded.
I loved Family back in the 70's. I watch it now when its on. Other people watched Eight Is Enough, but I didn't care for that. Family was a more serious, melodramatic show, but I liked that about it. There was always this sort of tension and melancholy to each episode.
Tom, I hear you. I actually did watch both shows but Family was a class act on a whole different level.
I was 11 and had just moved from paullup wa

Awesome, thanks for sharing!

You should check out the full interview, I think you would enjoy it!
I was in high school in 1975 and an avid fan of Family. It was a great show. Very well written. My favourite episode is from Season 1, "A Right and Proper Farewell". I will still watch episodes that are here on TH-cam.
Thanks for sharing😀
I can't get enough of Gary Frank. I always waited to see a Family reunion. I miss that show and was so sad when it ended. Thank you, John, for this interview. And thank you so MUCH Gary you have no idea how great it is to see you!!
Love hearing that, so glad you found the interview and hopefully you saw both episodes😀Gary is such a wonderful person so I understand your excitement.
Loved this interview, but concerning Kristy, in the Fall of 1976 my friend who had a crush on her, Teen Beat and Tiger Beat pictures on one wall of his bedroom and Star Trek posters on the other wall. One day we called 20 the Century Fox. after 2 failed attempts to try and talk to her. My friend called and claimed to be Kristy's uncle from Philadelphia, we were told to call back in 10 minutes and she'd be on break. So we called , they put us to the studio and for about 3-4 minutes we got to talk with Kristy. Matt was 15 I was 14. She closed with maybe we'll meet someday by. We were on cloud 9. The next day we went to school and told everybody and as you can figure,no one believed us. She used to co-host the Mike Douglas show. We would faithfully watch, hoping she would be ask about her strangest fan experience, just knowing if ask she would mention our call from her,"UNCLE FROM PHILADELPHIA". but it never happened. Matt passed away from a brain tumor in December of 2009. But one of the highlights of his life was telling people how against all odds,he talked to his famous crush on Kristy Mcnickles.
Loved your story, so cool😀Thanks for sharing!
I loved this show when I was young. The writing was smart and topical and delivered by a remarkable cast. What no discussion about Sada Thompson? I thought she was perfect for her role.
We did talk a bit about Sada at times but the discussion went in many directions and there is a lot to cover.
Brightened My Day! Thank you! WOW!!!
My pleasure, love hearing that😀
I LOVE "Family," so classy and well done... Sada reminded me of my Mother, and Gary was SO CUTE!
Glad it brought back those memories Alan😀
Danny ❤❤❤🎉
Thanks for sharing!
As a kid family was one of the first shows for me that showed me really true characters and emotional stories on television. It was one of my favorites at the time
I understand, Family was such a deep emotional series and holds so well today. Glad it took you back to those times😀
I watched this as a child with my mom. I was only 7 when it started. I was a 70s kid. My mom and I would cuddle on the sofa and watch together back then, now my mom is not here, but re-watched on plex. Wow, it flooded me with memories and made me sad at first because I wish my mom was watching with me. But then I thought maybe she is. I also loved hearing the crickets in the night scenes, it was peaceful to me. It was a fun good show and beyond its time. Fabulous actors. And Sada Thompson was beyond fabulous and of course James Broderick.
So glad it brought you back to memories of your times with your Mom❤️Family would have been the type of show to make it special. The acting was outstanding. Funny I remember the crickets sounds too😀
Mrs Lesssssssssssssssssh !!!
Glad you enjoyed the interview😀
Listened to the entire interview. I was too young to watch "Family" during its original run but I recently watched all episodes. Great show. Gary Frank is a very frank (no pun), unassuming, seemingly kind man. Enjoyed this.
Glad you saw both episodes of the interview. Gary is as genuine as it gets😀
WHAT A GREAT VIDEO!! My all time favorite old sitcom is the Dick Van Dyke show.❤❤ I have been BINGE Watching it lately and love the one about the mocking bird attacking RITCHIE!!! I ALSO just heard a few days ago that Dick turned 99 YEARS YOUNG!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A WONDERFUL MAN!!! ❤️🎈🎂🍰🎈😍
Thanks a bunch! The Dick Van Dyke Show is still great! In case you didn’t see this as well: th-cam.com/video/o4OlL0OpbW8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YjkG5WII-C264-Ng
I loved the show Family. I recently watched a few episodes and was reminded once again of how great TV used to be! 😉Love your videos
Thanks so much. Family was TV on a whole other level😀
Loved the interview. Always have been a fan of Gary's work. One thing confused me however. Gary refers to being married in 1975 and having been married 48 years several times. Either this interview is a year old or he is mistaken about the year. I would have assumed the former, but then I noticed that his IMDB page states he was married in 1976. Can anyone clarify?
I can clarify, Gary might be off slightly as many of us can be when asked how many years we have been married😀What is amazing is they are still as in love as the day they met at that event. I know as I have gotten to know them both together. All the best.
@@ThatsClassicTV Great interview! Thanks for answering. BTW, he so deserved his Emmy -- his performances were top notch.
@@s.tupper4159 I couldn't agree more about his Emmy, he was Willie Lawrence!
