    Sorry the hear the negatives. Probably everybody online could have told you they are very strict with camera mounting/tethering. This is for safety. When someone loses a camera, and it causes accidents, then the fun is over.
    Regarding the baffle, they have daily db limits. When there are some riders who make more noise than allowed, they could shorten or even cancel the last session.
    They don’t send you back for fun, they just want to make sure everybody is having a good time.
    Hope to see you next year, don’t be disappointed by the negatives, enjoy the track.
    I did a 1:58.021 last time on Assen. With a standard road GSXR1000 on slicks. No fancy trackparts and stock gearing.

      Thank you for the detailed comment . I assure you I wasn’t upset with him
      I had no issues at all
      I think the U.K. guys weren’t used to compulsory GoPro tethers and compulsory db killers so once he told me I sorted it out straight away but a little bit of politeness goes a long way 🙈… anyhow
      I had amazing two days
      All in all the track is stunning
      It was a good track to chose for me as it was flat and wide especially not ridden the bike for 12 months
      Your laptime is stunning , really really well done on a pretty standard bike . I couldn’t go better than 2 min 2 on day 2

      @@ChasingTenths those trackdays are expensive, so each lost session for whatever reason, hurts.
      On Assen you are considerd pretty fast if you can do below 1:53. Normally the really fast ones, even 600cc’s, go below 1:50.
      I am just average, bit overweight, standard bike, doing my best to sharpen my PR each lap.

    Nice video of my "home"track", I also ride with a 2016 model RSV4 (PR 1.49,6). I use a 16/42 gearing so you do not need 6th gear.
    If you need some tips and tricks just let me know.
    DG sports is a belgian organisation who does track events mainly at Spa and they are really strict even to the point not being friendly. In basic on Assen you need a DB Killer and if you have a loud bike you need to short shift 25-50 meter before the "bridge" on the backstraight but you can go full throttle.

I love the fact you have a 2016 RF and your laptime is stunning .. I hope I see you next time you are there :).. I really didn’t want to show DG Sport in a negative way , I just wanted people to know that to make sure baffles are in no matter what .in U.K. we have noise testing at 7 am of every trackday so we are used to it :)

    What was the dB limit meant to be Abi? What a crazy way to run a day (sounds like another power crazy TD owner from the UK), will certainly be avoiding that one! Do No Limits know the guy running the show there is a penisaurous? They should be told so they can warn their customers.

    • @ChasingTenths
      @ChasingTenths  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate, he wasn’t a U.K. chap or trackday owner . No limits were just tagging along with this company. Unfortunately for the U.K. chaps we were a little surprised that their decibel meter was not working so he was checking the sound with his ears at high revs .. it’s not the most consistent way of checking it , putting it mildly and politely, they had the circuit decibel meters on the gantry of the back straight and a huge amount of people were black flagged which is fair enough if they trigged that , the limit was 101db .. with all due respect to that guy , I think he was just frustrated in general or just had a chip on his shoulder .. but once I sorted a baffle in my bike , he was ok .. but he was definitely strict and the U.K. guys didn’t understand why he was shouty constantly

  • @pafsrh4744
    @pafsrh4744 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    good to know some track day providers and tracks around the world require a type of lanyard for on board cameras even if they are screwed onto the bike or helmets ,and also noise restrictions for exhausts so your not wasting your money and time or worse you are not allowed on the tracks....fuk that!!

    • @ChasingTenths
      @ChasingTenths  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely, I totally agree.
      However ,it would be wonderful of them to let us know of the same prior to the event, that tethers on cameras are 100 percent mandatory and everyone must have a baffle or db killer even if their bike is under 101db , so everyone is prepared prior to going out on track rather than last minute “telling off”.. and this is why in U.K. it’s superbly helpful when the noise testing happens at 7am with decibel meters at 5500 rpm and everyone gets a sticker on their bike with their noise level … rather than no decibel meters present at an event and noise gets tested by ear at random rpm .

    Maybe the guy is a bit of a knob, at every trackday at Assen (and others on the mainland) you absolutely need a baffle on any bike and also the accessories like a Gopro must be extra secured. I use tie wraps. Had 7 trackdays on Assen this year and had zero problems or arguments with anyone.

    • @ChasingTenths
      @ChasingTenths  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally understand and we respected his instructions . But I think we all guys from U.K. were taken by surprise , because in U.K. every morning at 7am onwards we have noise testing with db meter , then they put sticker on the bike with db noise ..with or without db killer, plus GoPro tethers aren’t mandatory… also in the briefing in assen there was no mention of compulsory db killers and compulsory tethers for cameras … so initially we didn’t put it on … but as soon as he told me I put them on straight away and the db killer , after that i didn’t have any problems. It’s some thing we U.K. guys learnt and in the future we will just put db killer on no matter what . I think if he was a little bit polite in speaking , that would really help . In U.K. the staff is super polite with no use of foul language , I think that helps a lot .

    • @evanr9945
      @evanr9945 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your answer mate. I'm not questioning your intentions at all, it's just the strict rules with every organization at Assen because they know they will get a slap on the wrist from the Assen circuit staff because of local regulations. Having said that, they absolutely should have mentioned this during the briefing and I blame them for not doing this. No excuse.
      I do hate the rude approach we get sometimes as well, but they deal with people with bad intentions every day and I can understand they get sick of correcting people all the time. However, maybe they should be looking for another job then, right ;-)

I am trying to be mindful and sensible on what I say on video and comments. But at least we now know what to expect and we will come prepared with bigger baffles or extra camera tethers. Having no decibel meters on site was also not ideal as we are used to the uk system where we get checked in the morning and all is well. Many many people got black flagged for noise sadly

    I have been to two trackdays with DG-sport. And yes He runs a tight ship. But everything he send you er the track for he probably told you at the briefing ? … All needs to run DB killers and all gopro need to have a safety wire. And like always someone is going out without
    He does not have the most diplomatic approach. But I see why he gets feed up people not listening

      Very very well said Tobias
      I can assure you he didn’t mention the above two in the briefing that db killer and tether for GoPro is compulsory.
      But as soon as he told me I sorted it out straight away . Coming from U.K. where people are used to extreme politeness , his way of talking is a bit different. But it’s ok. I had no issues after that but there were other people who had huge issues and one person was banned for 2 days .. but it is what it is …. I haven’t tried to put a negative reflection for him , it’s just that his way of talking can be a bit polite

      @@ChasingTenths that is to bad. He is normally quite clear in he’s briefings.
      But I never really liked he’s style of communication. I’ve just been lucky enough to not be on the receiving end of telling of 😅
      Hope you enjoyed the track nonetheless. It is one of my favourites. So many high speed Corners where you just have to trust the bike at a lean
      Great content Abi 👍🏻

      @@tobiasjacobsen_dk I think that’s just his basic nature and to be honest I had no major issues with him . I just applied the “Yes Sir” approach lol , I kept him happy and I was allowed on track .. I honestly had wonderful time , I loved Holland and I loved the people of Holland , beautiful mindset and great helpful nature of people … my first time but it won’t be my last , can’t wait to go there again

      @@tobiasjacobsen_dk im dutch and was on this trackday too , here in holland and belgium all trackday guys know about him , he got a not so fancy nickname or him here . i get it when you say he was clear in the briefing and he just very strict , but come on , everybody is paying a lot of money to his company to have a great time and hes acting as if we are prisoners . its my 3rd time im on a day where he runs the show and im suprised he never got anyone getting agressive with the way he treats people

    We had the same bloke from DG sports running our 2 day event tagging on with no limits at Le Mans. Track was amazing but he made it very stressful and was just being a tw*t from the start. Even if bike blew under the DB level he would not let you out without a baffle. Pathetic. Took loads of go pros off people and around was not a nice experience with those guys. No limits ran events are far better!

      I know mate what you mean, we had the same issue and one of our mate wasn’t allowed on track for 2 days as he had a slight argument with him. I can go on and on about things like that but I didn’t want a negative flame thrower on the whole even through my videos . But the main thing is we know now and we know what to expect if we ever go lemans or spa or Mugello as his company is the main one for all three including assen ..
      Cheers for watching and giving a reflective comment

    Man, noise level rules, for it to be fair, HAVE to be backed with an SPL meter with the specified weightages. Otherwise it's all balls. But, ah well, their track(day), their rules. I'm sure there's some fine situation if it's not respecter, for the track day company. Idk. Perhaps it'll explain the boorish behaviour. And also perhaps share these rules beforehand, clearly, so people are appropriately prepared. 🤷‍♂️

      That’s very good points you make there … we had the noise rules in advance but we didn’t know their decibel meter wasn’t working so they were testing the noise initially with their ears and that wasn’t the best way of doing it , some people were confused and angry but luckily it was all ok in the end
      When everyone put the db killer in .
      They were happy and we had peace of mind .

    Abhi..still follows all your videos,don't comment much...BUT the quality of your vids has increased steadily since your debut,very pro vids and you pick the right images assorted with the right music.Love it. The short cameos of the greats of the past was close to emotional,witnessed some of them decades ago..that's why '''emotional'''' comes in for me lol.
    Now. how can you enforce a decibel limit if you dont have a decibel meter around!!! that is bull crap. I think the 101 limit is quite bull****,most in america runs around 106 which is reasonable to me.
    Wont comment on your riding,this is a department where you up'ed the ante some in the last 2 years,while i see some on-off throttle mid corner quite often,especially in the slow ones?
    My question would be: Will you stay with aprilia when done with your 2015 RSV4?

      Hey Sylvan, thank you for the unbelievably heart warming lovely words , that’s really made my weekend . I truly appreciate how attentively you watch the videos , it’s rare these days where people have reduced attention span due to introduction of short videos ….
      In terms of the noise testing, yes, I must admit compared to U.K. standards it was botched and unfortunately very poorly managed but it is what it is, the guy had no issues with me once I put my baffle on but still lots got black flagged ….
      In terms of my riding, unfortunately it was my worse ever , it was my first trackday after a big crash , I was all over the place .. if you watch my latest episodes of Spain , riding is much much improved
      In regards to the Aprilia , sadly in U.K. our mortgages have nearly doubled thanks to the interest rate increases which I am sure you must be aware … so I will be keeping the 2015 for another year or two , it’s done me well
      It’s a solid bike
      Best handling bike
      Power is not Uber high , it’s 175 bhp but it’s manageable
      I can’t wait to get the new RSV4
      Thank you again 🤗
