I can’t believe you have only 8 thousand followers. Amazing footage, narration and racing.
I’m subscribing and looking forward to more race videos!
I’ve got a 2021 RSV4 myself and love it on track too.
Thank you very much for the kind words , I am partly to be blamed as I only post once in a blue moon with sometimes huge gaps . My main job is in a bank so sometimes it's just hard to balance things but thats totally my mis-organisation . It's definitely a pleasure to meet another Aprilia rider who takes the bike on track , I love the 2021 , hopefully will be updating to that next year. Thanks for the follow and a lovely constructive message. :)
Great video as always, keep up the good work man 👍
Thank you very much mate
Hope you guys had some fun. 🫣 And hope your bike is a simple, easy fix. Looks like fuel or electrical issue to me 🤞 things like to come loose on the RSV4. Thanks for sharing 🙏
Thank you very much
I really really hope it’s an easy fix but I’ll be honest , it’s time for an engine refresh on that bike anyways
So let’s see what the Aprilia expert says
rough day .. nasty crash
the brake pads --- we all make that mistake.
atleast you had some ridingtime still
good luck with the bike
😎
Thank you mate , lovely comment this , definitely learnt some thing new about glazed pads that day
Damn, that sucks. Better luck next time mate.
Cheers mate , onwards and upwards
Great video as always !!! even though you guys had so bad luck.....
PS: Getting to Navarra this weekend with the little RS660 !!!
Have a good time there
Can’t wait for the vlog
And thank you
Abhi mate, absolutely gutted for you and the team, shocking result after such a good effort 😮 still, bikes fix and everyone got home safe👍🏻 Great video, well put together, appreciated and enjoyed as always 🙂🏍️👍🏻
Thank you very much Gareth
Much much appreciated
I got a great team around me
They did so well in the race and we nearly nailed it
Not sure if you fixed your throttle problem yet, i had something similar on mine except it ended in me getting hit by a rider behind at Snetterton! Bloody dangerous when they go wrong! Im 99% sure mine was a sticky/graunchy butterfly. Because it wasn't opening and returning as fast as it's meant to the ecu basically kept shutting the throttle as a safety precaution lol...cleaned and lubed it, seems ok now, thought it was worth a mention.
Wow , thank you so much for that input , honestly it was dangerous for first 4 laps then I adapted and just carried on … I am going to take my bike to the mechanic in a week
He’s am Aprilia specialist and fellow racer John Couglan and let’s see what he says.. thank you again mate
I have taken
A screen shot of your comment
Tough day. I hope you get your throttle issue sorted easily and then get back out there!
Thank you ever so much
I really need to dig deep and see what the issue is , I really hope it’s nothing major
Great content as usual man! Your friend is lucky, that crash was absolutely horrible and could have ended really really bad. So glad the rider's ok! I'm just going to leave this here...from the way you speak it sounds to me you are probably thinking about the next bike...or not. My point is, if you do you should really consider downgrading to a 660 or a 600 next gen. I think for regular folks like us all is much better and most importantly, fun. Just my 2 cents of course.
I totally understand mate, and thank you for such kind words , I’ll pass that on to my team mate
I am seeing him Sunday
In terms of 600
It’s very tough for me
I tried it twice on track and I am just so used to the 1000
It’s been like 7 years on that bike now
And 7 years is a long time to get used to something and re calibrate to a different cc bike which needs totally different riding style … I’ll see how it goes , let’s see what the bill is to repair the mechanical issue and I will take it from there .. thanks for the detailed and meaningful comment
@PescaraProductions cool videos from that channel ty for sharing. sorry about your race :/ thank you for still putting out great and informative content
Are you pascara productions ?
Thank you for the very kind words
Much appreciated
@@ChasingTenths no I'm sorry I just wanted to link them in case other viewers were interested!
Wow, that looked dangerous!
It really was sadly for 3 to 4 laps and then I got used to the problem and managed the issue for 40 odd laps
@@ChasingTenths I hope it’s an easy and affordable fix. Great work on adapting to the issue on the fly.
@@xcelmaster4779 thank you , I am hoping it’s an one but also I have to get the valve springs changed , it’s been pending now for 6 months , that will be £2500
Oh man that's so frustrating! So is racing I guess. You should do an update once you work out whats going on. Another good video Abhi!
I certainly will, I’ve been thinking about doing a follow up video to this
Thank you mate
Much appreciate the support
Great intro
Thank you very much, I recorded the intro footage partly last year on last year’s race but came in handy for this one too
Hi mate, just watching some onboards with you. I think if you could just be a little bit more patient why the first touch of throttle it’ll help so much getting the bike turned easier give it a try hope it helps 👌 I know your not riding comfortable here due to brakes but Iv seen it on other onboard 💪
Josh mate , that is absolutely epic
Thank you so much
I am a huge Aprilia fan and I follow you guys too big time
Thanks for the tip
I’ll come and say hello at Doni bsb race
Much much appreciate your advice..
my Andalucia was much better riding but still what you said makes sense , I can be greedy on the first touch of the throttle
No problem at all mate happy to help if I can 💪 and ye I am to mate I’m really enjoying riding mine at the moment and looking forward to keep chipping away👌 definitely mate hopefully catch you there and no problem at all 👍
@@joshowens65 fantastic mate, from where you were 6 months ago to a podium in oulton, you absolutely smashed. Huge example for others . Nothing is impossible
Awesome content mate! Great effort done for yourside on such a short notice. I foresee a new trackbike coming soon?
Thanks mate very kind of you , I probably will get a bike next year but I really need to see what issue I have on this bike first and take it from there
It's very dangerous going that slow on the straight away.
I totally agree Chris
It only happened about 3 times and then I got used to the issue and I was then similar top speeds to 600 cc bikes on the straight but I definitely agree it was bloody uncomfortable and dangerous
@ChasingTenths just be careful, bro. Anything like that. Put your hand up so otherriders know you're in trouble. And sometimes, it's better to cone in, fight another day 💪👍
@@chriswest2290 spot on that my friend , thanks for being nice about it , means a lot
The garages are full of bikes but it seems theres hardly anyone on track 😂
It was a busy race , many classes race together , it was very spread out
Some guys in the garage only do sprint races and not endurance::)
Nice
Thank you ☺️
That power is as much annoying as it is dangerous, you're dropping speed but those behind you aren't seeing brake lights. Gutted for you mate.
Absolutely spot on mate
It was pretty scary
I think I did 46 laps with that issue and just was very worried that someone might hit me from behind on the straight
@ChasingTenths I think you did well to do that many laps 🤣.
Lack of confidence in the bike is not fun. And frustration at it not working must take away your focus.
As always mate, great video. Thanks alot.
@@ajs3046 thank you for the kind words , you truly understand what's involved
Bro, I think you have a broken valve spring. I wouldn't run it anymore. It might drop the valve.
Take off the airbox and get a scope into all the cylinders and see if you have a valve hanging funny and not closing all the way.
No way !!!!
You think so !
I’ll get it checked mate
Thank you for the heads up
@@ChasingTenths yeah I do. My 16 behaved similarly. Would rev past 10.5k. I cleaned Injectors and changed fuel filter and tried again thinking it was a fueling issue. Nope.
I kept pushing it then the resistance to revs started making clacking noises then locked up.
@@snikwadRR damn , that’s my worst nightmare
I’ll definitely get it checked out
Alarm bells are ringing in my head now
I was going to suggest you have a look at those valves. The 15+16 also had the valve spring issue, which is nasty stuff. While you're in there get your coils etc checked as well
@@greyanaroth ok mate, i’ll be getting that properly checked , I am now concerned
throttle position sensor?
I really don’t know
Because it only happens at full throttle, I guess I have to take it to a dyno
I would plug it in to a diagnostic machine and see if there are any fault codes
@@ChasingTenths It could be the clutch switch. RSV4's have their clutch switch hooked up to the ECU and cause power loss at higher revs if damaged. Check if it's broken, lose, or not engaging/disengaging properly.
@@AdamWarwicker ok mate , I’ve written this down on notepad and other suggestions from people
I’ll get it thoroughly looked at
Sounds like fuel starvation definitely not mechanical, did you do a throttle and handle learn after your off at Andalusia?,as they do generally need this after an off, also when I had my rf I ended up removing the irc unit as it had issues every time I used it,once removed I never had any more issues
Not to be insensitive, but I've known people that just won't admit their limits ,and end up spreading confusion and frustration for others trying to help. Or at worst, causing accidents and other situations that would be otherwise avoided.
The question isn’t about limits here , as mentioned in the video , on the old tarmac in 2019 (video on TH-cam posted in 2019) …I was 2 to 3 seconds quicker than I was this time with braking issues and I know myself I was faster , plus , during a 5 hours endurance race when you know your teammate has just crashed and you need to do 2 hours between two guys with minimal pitstops then the question isn’t about the limit , or how quick can you do a lap , it’s about sustainability and endurance and that’s why I did a 70 mins non stop stint managing the throttle issue because we were one man down . It’s a 5 hours race and not a sprint… I would love to give you free tickets to the 8 hours endurance race and I really want you to experience everything from our garage and you will truly feel that we aren’t here to make excuses why we weren’t the quickest , it’s about whatever it takes to just finish the race . Once a team mate crashes , you cannot go out until his bike is recovered back into the garage and we lost 15 to 17 mins , how can you cover that deficit on track, the best way forward is to finish the race and do longest stint until fuel light comes on . Please do send me your email , I will send you free tickets to our endurance race, just experience everything, you will love it. I hope.
What a div
Is it just me, or does this guy come up with more excuses for his ignorance and lack of common sense than anyone else?
Mate, I can see where you are coming from as there was one issue after the other but you need to realise in a 5 hours race a lot can happen … life’s not perfect, the bike wasn’t ridden for 5 months before the race and it was a last minute entry. I didn’t have a test day or a track day or practice, went straight into quali, if I had more time at hand then these brake and technical issues would have been found out and rectified on a test day before the race. I was a last minute entry covering for my teammate from 2022
No I think it’s just you 😂
Again here’s the div
