I am a DCS World content creator who likes to learn and share my experiance with all things surrounding flight simulators. Currently I almost exlusively fly DCS World but I hope to expand my horizons in the future. Join me on the journey of learning new aircraft and flying!
If you like games like War Thunder, MSFS and xPlane consider checking out DCS World by Eagle Dynamics. It is a flight simulator where you can simulate combat scenarios with very detailed and realistic aircraft like the F-16C, F-14, A-4E, MiG-29, Su-27, etc. With dogfights and BVR combat you can see aviation from a different point of view.

I am one of the people who don't care. You know what I do care about though? That i can get ursa minor on amazon. That when i tried to order VKB originally on top of the cost, they wanted me go pay 80$ Shipping on top of the taxes. Screw the moral argument, it kinda dies when you want me to increase my purchase by 1/3rd on an already expensive purchase.
Hmmmmm nice
So, if i get VKBs, i get a marginally better stick, for a decent bump up in price. I also, as I found out the hard way, will be paying an additional 90$ in combined shipping+taxes. Or i can go to amazon, get the Ursa, pay for no shipping or inflated taxes, along with having them the next day instead of DHS roulette. Not a hard choice, I gotta be honest
Quality wise I would take the VKB any day, but the price of the Ursa Minor is hard to beat
Did they fix the issue with calibration going off where you had to reboot it?
I think it still calibrates every time you turn it on
Does this work on the steam edition?
Yes, it should
ive been thinking of getting this flight base, from what it looks like that is the flight stick from the Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog. Is that compatible with it then?
Yes, Moza keeps delaying theirs so I am using the Warthog stick
Very common in china sadly.........
Unfortunately
@dcs_one thanks for doing all this work and making all these videos. They are tremendously useful.
Hi. Question about Z axis. Is it hall sensor in Minor Ursa?
Yes it is
They 100% stole the design, however, what they did is likely completely legal. VKB has way better software and a million times worse firmware updates. VKB couldn’t even tell what firmware to install on my joysticks when asked on discord. Firmware updates just works with winwing, their software is very basic though.
Legal in china.
Yeah, the VKB software was quite good
i'm a pilot and your camera shake gave me nausea.

lm new to flight sim never piloted an aircraft sim style, from research being on a budget Winwing is still a fairly new competitor that offers high end quality at a affordable price l purchased this joystick waiting on delivery in December as l've pre ordered.(Black Friday sale) This company's store online blew me away on how cheap everything was compared to the brands that have been in this game for a long time its great for the community to have Winwing tapping into this market. Next on the list will be to buy a whole cockpit from them they look soo good!
Just put the F16 stick on the new AVA ... ❤
If I had it, I would
Congrats on the Dora! I have all 3 and IMO Bf109 is best at dogfighting, Anton is best vs bombers and ground attack. But man just to fly the aircraft itself Dora is my favorite. I love the clean minimalist cockpit, it feels so futuristic.
Awesome tutorial 👍🏻
Early morning, too much coffee. I know the signs.

love for the mi8❤
Nice little chopper
I am going to buy this module, I want an f15
As long as you are aware of the issues and the potential of it breaking at any point, go for it

In the mission try jumping into an Su-33 first to load the avionics and then jump in the eurofighter

@dcs_one the F106 is by far one of my favorite interceptor aircraft of all time lol it looks super cool

Yes, and they have black friday sale now
@ thanks!! Will definitely check it out
@@CactusBravo42 I'll buy the left one, because I'm lefty but also because I want to use stick and mouse for space sims

I bought an SN850X a while ago, but, I'm yet to install it. I'm planning on using Disk Genius to clone my current SSD to it, hope it works, never done it before. Was just scanning some videos to see if the SSD I got was any good. Also, you mentioned RAM, and tbf, upgrading RAM too much is pretty pointless unless you were on a budget and need it, or, if you're testing products/a pro gamer. 64GB RAM is always more than enough, really. It's only worth upgrading RAM past that if you have a really good CPU, too, otherwise it ends up bottlenecking, and then you can ironically end up even worse off with game performance, even though the RAM is better. If you do have a really good CPU though, it may he worth upgrading to DDR5 RAM, if you don't already have DDR5. As for size, if it's something that's like 6,000MT/s, then 64gb is enough, 128gb would be pointless imo. At the end of the day though, most of the work comes down to the GPU, so for better performance, a better GPU is best, but having parts that don't cause bottlenecks/keep up with said GPU is important, too.
I've been away from DCS for several months. After updating to the current build, I fired up the Strike Eagle(my only Razbam product) and quickly realize how much I've forgotten, lol. Although most content makers have removed their F-15E vids, the two most important ones (to me) have not. *Razbam and Notso!* This gives me just a glimmer of hope, that this issue may get resolved, or at the very least, we will have a playable bird for the foreseeable future. I too requested a refund awhile back, but changed my mind before my request was granted. I'm just not ready to give up on the old girl yet! I'll fly my favorite DCS plane until she in the grave.😂
i refunded my f15e to get the ka50, im gonna miss it :(
That’s fair, it will be missed
i wanted the mig23 so bad, its not coming now
Not for a while definetly
Faster load times, yes. Less laggy experience, likely no. Lag is related to either RAM being not enough or performing bad, or processing issues, which is CPU/GPU related. The mass storage is relevant when loading the data into the RAM (load times). After that, mass storage is more or less idling. 😉
Right, thanks for the info! RAM was a definite game changer
I started out in DCS with an Alienware Ryzen 14 with half a terrabyte ssd. Quickly out grew that, so I went with a Sabrent 1TB SSD, and after a year, filled that up. I just installed a Sabrent 4TB Rocket and Im good for awhile. Eventually, I will go with the same but with 8TB. DCS and IL2 takes a lot of memory. The Sabrent SSDs so far are pretty epic. The WD is fantastic. Ive discovered that if one thinks 4TB is enough, we need 8TB lol!!!! Cheers-
Its an endless expansion 8TB will not be enough eventually
@@dcs_one Indeed lol
🕹Good Video @DCS ONE! I returned my F-15E for a full credit to use on a future ED module. Since I don't own any other RB modules, I say it doesn't affect me at all...but after what RB did to start this situation, I will not support them in the future. We will all be fine. ~Juice
Glad you enjoyed it! It will definitely affect the future of how RAZBAM is looked upon
Cheaper one wins.
Fair
Cutting every 3 seconds on a review type channel is not a good idea.
I think that was not the case for most of the video🤔 The intro had more cuts for teasing purposes
the video could end at WINWING's response and it would be just as informative as the whole thing
This comment could not be written and it would be just as informative
⚠WinWing are scammers ⚠ Don't buy their products unless you're willing to accept to be scammed in case of problem. I had to cancelled my order promptly due to false informations provided by their so called support and website. They acknowledged the issue nevertheless they shipped the cancelled order. This was followed by months of messaging to their support in order to get my money back (367$). When they finally came with the refund they charged me (stole me) 122$ for shipping and various taxes. Just an amazing experience altogether. Take my advice, stick with occidental brands that provide actual support and apply good business practices like VKB, Virpil, Thrustmaster.
Winwing: yes we stole it but we made it cheaper. so don't cry
you can't even understand the video 😂
lol
Not quite what they said
@@dcs_one Hello everyone. Can I have a link to the answer that WW gave? Please
Stole? No. Copied/took inspiration from? Yeah probably.
Our conclusions as well
As a consumer, I have trouble outlining to you how LITTLE I care if one Chinese company copies the designs of another and offers them in a competitively priced product.
You have that right, just like others have the right to care
This seems like an odd claim to me. The sticks externally are nothing alike (ie button placements) and while the gimbals are similar they're the same type of gimbal, that has been around for years no less, so that's what you'd expect and there's several differences in manufacturing that you can tell just from a glance.
While I agree about the sticks, the gimbals are almost identical to the point where it looks like they cane out of the same manufacturing plant
@@dcs_one They don't though, they're clearly completely different moulds. Their mounting screwholes lining up is the only suspicious part (assuming they did line up perfectly and you didn't have to misalign any screws or anything) but that might just be due to the form factor they're in being essentially identical since due to the design there's essentially only one place where you can put mounting screws.
in a german livery is an interesting choice 😳
🤫
You have to have pedals for the ab9 right? It’s doesn’t turn right and left like other HOTAS? Thanks
They do have a Z axis module you can buy separately but it that has been delayed in shipping for like 2 months already. Pedals would be probably a better choice
Yeah it’s not a big deal at all and everyone seems to be virtue signaling about integrity as if this is a 7th grade science fair and not multinational private corporations.
Winwing is more likely yet another state-owned chinese company that conforms with whatever agenda the chinese state has
There ate very mixed feelings about this from the general community
No, the design is not owned by VKB. so i dont even know why this is a discussion
People did and still do, it is about the morality of copying their design and pricing it at half. They didn’t have a development cost, that’s why they can price it cheaper
@@dcs_one Imo if it's not patented it's ok to take inspiration from. Business is business, and this helps the customer.
@@dcs_one so I guess is not okay to buy bicycle that have the same design as bicycle that came before it? 😂
@@dcs_one The stick is a Russian design. Good on WinWing for shaking up the market by making the internals higher quality. I just ordered one direct from them for less than 100 pounds. Free shipping. Amazing
@@Niallistical It's not. VKB is based on the Russian name, but the company is from Shenzhen. Always was China-made. Yes, the overall looks/feel is based on a Russian stick, but that's where the similarity ends.
The idea of that gimbal is old. I've seen similar ideas in DIY space way before VKB made theirs. However, the design of the gimbal is 100% a copy. Some parts too I'd say that they are a copy not a "same idea". I don't know it's even worth internationally fighting a china based company over it tho. Sucks, but modern china's been like that for ages now. As a customer standpoint, It's also good that there is a cheap good quality product that challenges VKB and Virpil to be more competitive. I do wish that they did that in more original way, but I'd say it's still a W for customers. not a clean w but a w nonetheless.
This definitely is a win for the consumers but it will likely change future products
Hey, it was fun, and thanks for the opportunity to help out 😊
Glad you were there🙌
I recommend you to read the copyright law, so as not to say later that both manufacturers were inspired by each other's design. VKB did the first to create such a gimbal design, so they can claim all rights to this design even in court without any patent. Gladiator NXT and their gimbal were developed and presented to the public in 2020. I don't understand what 10 years Winwing is talking about.
I didn’t think to apply copyright law. If VKB does have copyright to it then why wouldn’t they claim it more publicly?
@@dcs_one I think they don't want to do it for some reason. Or maybe they are preparing this case in this moment. I don't know. But if you are a good intellectual property lawyer, then you should contact VKB. This case is 90% winnable
The gimbal design wasn't invented by VKB, as you see in the video the design was already patented in 1977. VKB used the design from the (nomore valid) patent and used it. WinWing also took the existing design and used it. So both copied something existing.
@@KernicDE Let's not distort the facts. This patent describes the basic principle of the mechanics on which almost all joysticks are built today. I have no questions for Logitech or Thrustmaster, because they used this previously patented technology with their UNIQUE design. We are talking about the fact that Winwing stole the DESIGN, and not the principle of the gimbal mechanics. But if you even think that the design in the pictures in the patent and what VKB eventually did and then Winwing stole from it are the same thing, then you clearly need to go to an ophthalmologist. For the sake of experiment, you can insert the gimbal from VKB Gladiator NXT into Wingwin and it will fit there like a native. Try inserting the mechanics from Gladiator NXT into the same Thrustmaster or Logitech, then good luck to you
@ The second picture of the patent looks really similar to the VKB and Winwing solution to me. Two axes connected by a rectangular frame. Yeah, patent is using potentiometers instead of hall effect sensors, but the overall design is the same. The main idea here is the frame that separates X and Y axis - this is completely different to a ball design. Ofc the build of the mechanics is rather similar and there is no doubt, that Winwing took inspiration from VKB. But VKB was inspired by other too, that is the way when a patent isn’t valid anymore. Like car motors are very similar, smartphones are very similar and ball pens too. So yeah, the WinWing sells a freely usable mechanic for a lower price and most likely lower quality. The differences are slightly in mechanic, the stick itself is oriented on jets (like VKB ones) but for me the button layout is different enough to separate them. If the mechanics would be some new and unique one, VKB could file a patent for it. Patents are there so protect you from others to get the invested money back. But they didn’t. Why? See Lego, they had a patent, they used it, now there are many competitors. Why nobody complains about them? Because at some point competition is necessary to avoid monopoles.
Nicely explained, but my argument would be if it's a standard design for decades, and not a copied design I would say then naturally WinWing's design would have some differences at least. How can they have almost the same screw holes, and shapes, and everything almost same? Ignoring the legal and patent part, a kid could say they both are identical. A steering wheel is a standard equipment in car, yet we know different manufactures have different designs. Also a CAM based gimbal can also be considered a standard, yet we can see that WW has put enough effort in designing that it's different from VKB, Virpl, Thrustmaster's CAM based gimbals. So, i think in case of a pincer gimbal, they could also have looked different from Gladiator EVO if they would have designed from scratch instead of referring to VKB's design.
Yeah, if you would put them both in front of me when I haven’t seen them yet, I would say they are practically the same
Very pretty painting
Thanks :)
