Saab 9000 Turbo //Road Test
มุมมอง 23K3 ปีที่แล้ว
The curious case of an executive car made by Saab. In the 9000 T16 there's leather seats, a turbocharged engine, and a whole lot more. We take to the B-roads to find out what it's like. Thanks to specialists Two Stroke to Turbo for lending us this fine example of an early Saab 9000 T16. We cover the performance, handling, braking, as well as the design, interior details and anything else that a...
Saab 900 convertible T16+ //Road Test
มุมมอง 21K3 ปีที่แล้ว
We spool up the turbo on this classic Saab 900 T16 convertible to find out if it could be the ultimate sports-cruiser-convertible. Thanks to specialists Two Stroke to Turbo for lending us this special example. It is for sale, so get in touch twostroketoturboparts.co.uk/contact-us.php if you're interested. It's in superb condition and also features a very neat T5 engine management conversion - y...
VW Polo GT //Road Test
มุมมอง 8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
The sensible GT does have a playful side. We hustle this warm hatch along a B-road to find out exactly how fun a sporty Polo can be without the 'i' in GTI. Turns out that when you put your foot down, it sure can drink petrol! Thanks to Bedford Car Centre for the loan of this particular Polo GT. Still for sale at www.bedfordcarcentre.co.uk/used-cars/volkswagen-polo-1-4-act-bluegt-5dr-bedford-202...
BMW 120d E82 coupe //Road Test
มุมมอง 32K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Can you combine the ultimate driving experience with 50 mpg? We go out in BMW's little 1-series coupe with the N47 turbodiesel to find out. The answer is mostly yes but there are a few sacrifices. And the stability control is quite cruel in converting any thought of oversteer into plow-style understeer... Thanks to Bedford Car Centre for the loan of this superb example of a 120d. Always nice to...
MGF Adjustable Dampers
มุมมอง 6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Does combining Hydragas and trick dampers make the ultimate MGF road and track setup? We try out a couple of settings on the road and also chat Cadwell Park settings to give you an idea. Big thanks to GAZ for supplying these dampers. They are really rather good but then again I've not tried others! There's lots of choice out there. B6276 //Road Review
มุมมอง 5103 ปีที่แล้ว
An epic B-road across the North Pennines, from Brough north to Middleton-in-Teesdale. It bucks and weaves across the mountain tops then flows through the valley further north. We take a BMW 528i to find out what it's like. Part of a series covering great drives across the country, looking at the road and the scenic attractions along the way. And perhaps something to ease the lockdown blues. Fro...
BMW 528i E39 //Road Test
มุมมอง 43K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Is the 528i the best car in the world? A full-on road test over the hills and mountains of the Pennines ought to be enough to find out. A six-cylinder up front, manual gearbox in the middle, drive going to the rear spells classic BMW, while there's all the cleverness of a 1990s executive car at the top of its game to make the rest of the package pretty special. Does it add up? Well watch and fi...
BMW Z3 //Road Test
มุมมอง 21K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Driving an immaculate 1.9 Z3 in the Peak District, roof down, engine fizzing away, controls fresh and precise... I was surprised how much I didn't miss the six-cylinder. We push the car to the limit, cover the performance, handling, braking, as well as the design, interior details and anything else that appeals to the driving enthusiast. Renault 20 TX //Road Test

Driving the rustic French dream that is the Renault 20, and this one is the sporty TX with the rather less sporty 3-speed automatic gearbox. Find out how we get on in the Peak District with this rare classic. Volvo C70 //Road Test
มุมมอง 8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Five cylinders on a budget? The C70 is a worthy alternative to the Mercedes CLK, or if you're just after a more comfortable Saab. This one is the base 2.4-litre naturally aspirated 20v 5-pot with the manual gearbox. I mistakenly thought it was the turbo... and then tried to pretend it wasn't so slow! Good performance for what it was though. We push the car to the limit, cover the performance, h...
Saab 9-3 Aero X //Road Test

Focus Focus Mk1 //Car Stories
มุมมอง 2.9K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Best car ever? Quite possibly, and all by chance. Here's the story of my early Focus Ghia, bought with 27,000 miles on it, then sold a couple of years later with twice as many again. One of a series of travel memories that dig up old media on dusty hard drives. From full-on road tests of driver's cars to immersive tours of where to drive them. Espuela Grande is a place for the most exciting, be...
MGF Toyosports Exhaust
มุมมอง 15K3 ปีที่แล้ว
How does it sound? We compare the old vs this new Toyosports stainless steel exhaust on the MGF VVC. A couple things to note: The car already has a 4-2-1 from Mike Satur fitted. The footage of the original exhaust included a bit of rattling from a loose heat shield. The footage of the new exhaust was taken after 150 miles of 'bedding in'. If you liked this video, don't forget to like, comment &...

What is the Peugeot 205 GT? //A Closer Look
Stop smacking your lips all the time. It ruins your presentation which is good as such.
I didn't even realise it had electric steering.
Is he still alive? He hasn't posted anything since August of 2021.
This car here seems pretty reluctant in terms of power delivery. I had a 528i Steptronic auto which was considerably more lively - faster.
Lewis Mark Johnson Christopher Martin Donald
Garcia Charles Hernandez Robert Lopez John
that car is not steering right, I can tell by how much he's turning the wheel to turn
I have a 118D, its a great car, always puts a smile on my face to drive
Lovely things
I had a 2.9 V6, had a longer gearbox, it would do 3000 rpm at 120 km/h. It was 1000 rpm at 40 km/h in 5th, and you then add 10 km/h for each 500 rpm. V6 were heavier 1360 kg, and had shorter (stiffer) front springs. Fabulous car, but impossible to maintain where I live. Also very thirsty in urban driving with a V6.
Fantastic review. Thank you!!
french roads are terrible .... lol tell me about the UK ones :-)
Irresponsible to drive like this in a public road with other road users. Find a track
Halvorson Lakes
I had a Glacier Green 540i with English green leather. Car was fantastic.
From looking at the DVLA site this seems to be now scrapped. What a pity. There are only around 4 roadworthy 25 Monacos in the uk, and 2 that I know of in Ireland
Porno Glasses 😂
Car drives nicely .. WHEN it's Not Broken :-) Also sucks fuel and has Zero resale value. Also by now Rust has eaten up Most of them . Caveat emptor... kids. I've owned driven Saabs since 1984 .. Still do.. what i say IS accurate.
I have this set up and have used it on track. Sadly my spheres now need a re-gas, its all very crashy and hard, but looking forward to getting the precise handling back when they're done. Will try 2 and 5 clicks on the road and 4 and 9 on the track...
Roadsters for the teenage nannies
bought my VVC brand new with EVERY option then available (R-Reg) .. cost me a fortune (£1000+ for air con?!) Full cream leather and everything else. I took it to the south of France in 2001 for my honeymoon .. what a fabulous adventure. I have kept it since, and sadly it has stayed in a garage for the past 8 years on flat tyres. never going to sell it though .. so I need a specialist to come get it, get it fixed and back on the road. Anyone who knows a specialist, get them to PM me. Maybe it's time.
Love your mg f videos, really shows the beauty of these classics
It uses rubberized plastic on top of the dash which is excellent. You might want to lower the steering wheel position. Tires work best at 35psi. Lower control arm bushings need to be checked twice a year. Mine has 264,000 miles. It doesn't leak anything. I have owned it for twenty years and only the driver's seat and the headlight lenses show wear. Mine is an estate. 528iT.
I like this guys reviews, wish he had more
Well it is and never was, the picture of an executive saloon of its time! I am from this time. this car has always been more of a car for the educated car connoisseur. Hence the low sales on this and GM fucked up the whole brand like they did with the German Opel brand.
Great review... Light-hearted but informative.
car looks so nice
Hi, great videos mate, why did you stop?
Thanks! I'm now working at Classic & Sports Car, and sadly don't have time for videos these days.
@@EGMedia1 Best wishes! thank you.
@@EGMedia1 Maybe you combine these like Doug Demuro? Or Harry's garage and Evo, do you know their stories?
@@bag2963 I do! Have followed them for a long time. Perhaps someday.
how much cost ? im from poland .
Not going to lie I have a 02 9-5 aero wagon (estate) manual and I don’t see myself parting with it. These cars just feel special and even compared with my modified Subaru STI it’s a lot of fun. My next goal is a Viggen or 9-3 hatch and make it more track oriented.
Excellent video on a great car but can you explain one thing please.....R32 EOA registration plate was on a Golf from 2006-2023 so how are you driving the e39 on that plate?
I had a 528i SE manual just like that. The only things I didn't like was that it was slightly underpowered and the steering wheel was huge. A 530i Msport with manual gearbox would be perfect.
SAAB FOREVER ❤❤❤
SAAB FOREVER ❤❤❤
These cars are so god damn perfect!
We owned an 1998 AC Schnitzer 540i and a 1999 523i. Awesome cars. Gave the Schnitzer to our daughter to keep it in the family before we migrated abroad. Only two were bought into New Zealand. I'd buy another one tomorrow because I know them so well. Easy to work on.
My favorite Saab of all time is this one featured right here!
Had mine for 8 years, bought for £800 love it! It's a joy to drive on Northumbrian B roads and comfortable enough to have been all round Europe in it. As in reasonable condition but 24 years old now I have decided to keep it permanently and just spent £xxxxxx.00 restoring it. Now completely rebuilt engine with small mods, gearbox etc, new subframes.( bought some years ago when still available), suspension brakes etc and complete repaint. Only interior to smarten up. Yes the K series is prone to head gasket problems and a few difficult to resolve engine management issues. Thermostat removed from block and replaced with remote thermostat next to front radiator has solved any temperature / head problems for the for last 6 years. Will I get money back no... well not for another ten years or so if ever ...... But at 6" 2" with bad back it's the only small open top sports car I comfortably fit in and at 68 still provokes me to drive like i did as a teenager !!
Takes me back to the 80s and family holidays in France.
I think the MGF is a better car in every way than the TF. First, there seem to be rust problems with the TF, more so than the MGF. The suspension on the MGF, when working properly, is much better than any other car of it's type. The styling is the original perfect design - unlike the Jaguar S Type, which had a flawed initial design, this one cannot be improved by a facelift. Some seem to like the MX5 - the styling of that thing is "scoolboyish". The MGF is a fine Lady, not an unrully oaf or an inexperienced boy. Every MGF owner and driver is proud to be at the wheel of the finest MG Sports Car ever made. Thanks for your honest review. Nuff said.
The biggest change from the late 70's/early 80s and now is in NVH. Noise, vibration and harshness. I want my Citroën CX 2400 GTI back. My first car. And I loved it.
Fabulous car I had 2 of them same one v6 turbo loved them all 🧠💚🙋♂️🇬🇧200,000 miles 🤝
Manual just doesn't suit this particular model.
I had a 2001 E39 fifteen years ago. Loved it, but I grew frustrated keeping up with the often costly repairs. So I traded it for something newer. I followed that up with two M-3s, a 911, three Z4's, two Boxsters and a Audi A8L. Then I came to the realization that the best overall driving car I ever owned was the E39. After much searching, I found and purchased a 2000 E39, the same color as my original. This one has just 67K miles and is absolutely beautiful. As with the first (and I add that both are 528I's), the car drives wonderfully and I am always hesitant to point it towards home. This is my last car and I will never again concern myself with the occasional costly repair; its a small price to pay for (near) automotive perfection. Cheers
Wow that's a wild full circle moment. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the video. Subscribed! I'm just about to get a nearly mint low mileage 2001 525i with the M Sport pack. Silver with black leather. I've owned an E36 316i for years and had no intention of changing, but this car just presented itself and I couldn't resist. I can't wait to get it!
Has anyone used these dampers with the suplex units great video cheers
Serious question, is it normal for this particular example's exhaust to sound quiet?
Was this with a de cat or sports cat?
Is the MG same as the Rover? sport suspension?
Yup; firmer dampers and aluminium billet bushes for the subframes.
This car crossed countries , from France passing throught Spain to Portugal, and still riding today on great shape
