  • An epic B-road across the North Pennines, from Brough north to Middleton-in-Teesdale. It bucks and weaves across the mountain tops then flows through the valley further north. We take a BMW 528i to find out what it's like.
Part of a series covering great drives across the country, looking at the road and the scenic attractions along the way. And perhaps something to ease the lockdown blues.
From full-on road tests of driver's cars to immersive tours of where to drive them. Espuela Grande is a place for the most exciting, beautiful, and interesting ways and places to travel.

The F really comes alive up there, so will definitely have to do a roads vid with it up in Yorkshire. There's an MGF video next week as it happens...

It's Middleton-in-TEESDALE!! Not TEESIDE, (that's over on the east coast). As I drive this road daily I, like most locals, have to endure people driving like cretins along it, who appear ignorant and completely unconcerned for the wellbeing of other road users found on this route such as cyclists, horse-riders, or for the free roaming sheep, and the like. In winter, we regularly have to rescue the clueless, driving their 4x4s (but without winter tyres on !!) who get stuck and only then find there's no mobile phone signal. Do us all a favour and be a 'wannabe' something else, please.

Apologies for the mistake on the name! I can assure you that while I may appear ignorant and completely unconcerned, that couldn't be further from the truth. In fact you'll notice that I do point out many specific hazards to pay caution to. It's all about enjoying our hobbies and our countryside safely. Cheers

@@EGMedia1 Apology accepted. Sorry I was a bit 'previous', but I've had some close calls with a few road users on this route who are less appreciative than you of: the charm of the surrounding countryside; other road users; and also the wildlife/farmlife. Safe journey.
