that's not how CRT's work. even on 1080i multiple scanlines are used for each "pixel" so 480 and 576 look just as crisp as 1080, except for the lower resolution of course

CRT's have a resolution and refresh rate range since they create lines (Basically create pixels and don't have them) so they can just scale down to that and the image would look amazing..

There is a difference between Broadcast cameras... and Movie cameras. Broadcasting cameras, could simply push out a live signal, without any need to store anything. However, I would guess that most footage was stored on large magnetic tape reels. These tapes would have been very large, and very expensive... And since magnetic media degrades over time / use... It wasnt a format that they would have used for Movies. Instead, they used Film reels. Even the best film of the Era.. has a certain resolution limit. You often see what is called "Film Grain" in older movies... as that was one of the limitations of chemical based films resolution. That said... I believe you still got the equivalent of 4k, with some artifacts. One of the main issues today... is that many movie studios refuse to put much effort into Bluray re-releases. Often using older 2k scans (or worse)... and just digitally cleaning them up a little... rather than fully re-scanning them with 4k or 8k scanners... and then editing them digitally, to repair any degradations. Even worse... are companies that are trying to remove the film grain to make these re-released look more like modern films... and due to the algorithms / AI being so bad... it often smooths out natural details and textures. Faces end up looking like Plastic Dolls, for example. Certain details go missing. Certain objects get misinterpreted, and cut out or severely distorted. I believe this is what happened recently, with the "Aliens" re-release. The technology just isnt good enough, for film grain removal... without suffering severe issue with detail removal and distortions. Or at very least, they are unwilling to have humans spend hours and hours correcting the computers mistakes (like they did with Stereoscopic 3D conversions). Obviously, all of High Definition / Broadcast equipment, was also extremely expensive. Far beyond the means of the average consumers financial reach. It was also a lot Bulkier and heavier... taking up a lot more physical space. As the electronic chips and circuit-board traces back then, were a lot larger. As such, even the home version of broadcast TV style equipment: The "VCR" players... originally were very expensive... and only had a fraction of the data storage and processing capabilities. But within a short time span, the costs came down quickly... due to the massive demand / sales. Still... nobody would be have been able to afford a broadcast TV level recorder... nor would they have been able to afford a display capable of doing it any Justice. TVs were mostly 320x240... until the 90s, when masses of 480i and 720p capable CRT TVs, started to come out. Anyway, think of it like this: Home Cassette Tape Recorder vs Music Studio multi-track reel recorders. Similar technology... but the Studio versions are far more capable. Far more detailed.. with far more data storage.. And tape that was far more reliable / safe (wear resistant). And of course, far more expensive.

That’s correct. Ideally I would have wanted to play it on Wii but this hacked version was available for Wii U only. It’s a fair trade off considering getting rid of the waggle controls. The 3DS version is only 30 fps :-(

those are 4:3, so this one is wider due to it being 16:9. depends on your definition of bigger
