Just make sure to turn on the auto-distortion correction in your camera because this lens is loaded with distortion.

I thought I had things setup right but I couldn't understand why my wireless remote was not focusing on my face. After looking at the menu a bit it dawned on me that I have my D850 set up to focus while holding down the AF-On button and my remote was not doing that. I put it back into the shutter release focus mode and voila! I got a nice sharp pic. Thanks, this will help lots learning how to use strobes since I don't have a handy model to work with:)

I do all my transfers through snapchats but I have a quick question. The reason Snapchat downloads Raw pictures to my iPhone fairly slowly seems to be rather obvious when I consider the size of the file but it seems to frequently suddenly quit after downloading some of the files and tells me the connection has been lost. I have found a rather primitive way around it...just move a few files at a time. Is there anything I can correct to allow me to transfer longer sets of files?

Ok, I a little behind in the terms "Eye AF" is that the same as looking thru the view finder?.. if so , then I'm from the school of looking thru the view finder from 35-40 years ago when there was not big ass screen on the back.. real photographers look thru the view finder, this new age big screen is for who?.not me!!... I just bought this cam on ebay 46 shutter count!!! mint , I have a real video camera for videos.. in my opinion DSLR are for still images.. that's just my opinion..I have an arsenal of DSLR some can do video and I have never not once use that feature.. Not my style..

Did you get paid by Nikon to make this? Because SnapBridge is nowhere near usable, yet these weird 4-5 star “reviews” keep turning up on the App Store. And now this. What’s actually going on here? Has someone looked into this?

It’s crazy that they don’t have portrait view because the essence of this app is for self portrait but the screen actually doesn’t work in portrait 😂

Hey brother, came across your channel looking how to active face detect auto focus on my nikon DSLR. Anyways, from one small "photography" channel, to another, my suggestion would be to really lean into a niche, or your niche, and focus on building an audience from that. There are so many big camera channels out there it 's going to be really hard to compete. But I think people are always looking for specific content. As for me, I mainly do portrait photography, and retouch in Affinity Photo. So I started off just focusing on that. Making videos teaching people how to portrait retouch in Affinity photo. I think I got monetized after two years. But I will say the one "gear" video I did really pushed my view count up. But for the most part people know what they are going to get when they come to my channel. And I've managed to build a small but engaging viewer base. I've recently been trying to expand the scope of my channel a bit by doing in studio tutorials, but they don't seen to do as well (even with a pretty model in the thumbnail, lol.) So I think it might be good to kind of hyper focus your channel early on, then slowly expand the scope one you've got a sold viewer base. It's definitely a slow build. I think right now with so many generic camera channels and gear focused channels, it's really hard to stand out. So maybe try to go against the grain. Anyways, good luck, and keep on makings videos! 3:37 it shows that your chosen mode is not available and mode P will be used instead. But I need A mode with my selected specific aperture and P mode changes it all. Any advice or you know why it happens?

Thanks for the video! This is for Nikon: I just purchased the Nikon Z7ii, and I expect WAY more functionality than this app offers. There is close to no functions in this garbage app. I am expecting to access full menu functionality - You should be able to put the camera on a stand and do absolutely anything without touching the camera. Also it should be possible to taylor the app so YOU can pick the functions / settings you use the most, instead of the minuscule, random selection this app offers. Also; No one needs your tiny jpegs btw. Now I have to look for a third party app to do what Nikon should have offered. Been a Nikon fan for a long time, please don't drop the ball on your customers feet here Nikon.

I installed the latest version last night, 24 March 2024 and am not impressed. For pictures it uses BT and video it uses WiFi. So to have it beyond arm's length for making a YT talking head video it's pretty bad. A flip out screen would solve MANY issues in this regard.

unlike your title snapbridge doesn’t actually work at all. Why don’t you show actual trouble shooting? A little frustrating? - it’s crap. All this is useless info when Snapbridge is not working for many people - I can’t even get past joining this useless app. I wish there was an alternative but I have to borrow a laptop with an sd cars and download it the old way as I’ve spent 2 hours and watched many useless podcasts that do not help when smart devise is greyed out

Things You Hate: Autofocus for Video: Why are you even using auto in video? Weight: Are you physically that puny? No Eye Focus: Then focus on the face using single point which gets eyes in focus VERY sharp to boot. Needless to say it's not the camera, it's the user. Do you really need an almost $5k A7RV to take pictures that will look literally no different than taking it with this camera? I purposely traded my Sony A7rii for this 36mp Nikon D810 on purpose. Yes I traded my mirrorless full frame for a full frame with a mirror simply because the results from a DSLR does much much better than a mirrorless and dynamic range is VERY detailed. Not to mention the lenses are ultra sharp and VERY affordable at the same time depending what you get. The D810/D850 will outshoot todays mirrorless fluff cameras, yes i said it.(Come on mirrorless gearheads, lets here your excuses about noise and yada yada) lol.

I've worked tech support for a number of years and have a S22 Ultra and Z8. First, let me say that the camera is astonishingly excellent. Snapbridge is garbage. I can connect the bluetooth, but not the wifi. BT connectivity is sporadic...sometimes it's fast, sometimes it times out after 2 minutes. What a shame that Nikon can't get it together and actually produce a piece of software that works quickly and easily. The controls are also a little odd. It's as if they want you to explore the space instead of getting to the action. Grade A trash. The pentax app with my old K-70 is much better. Maybe hire some pentax software engineers and get this fixed.

Weight and firmware are not important reasons to ignore this camera. The sensor is what counts. I rather have the weight, than a small Sony camera for my bigger hands. As for video, none of them are serious cameras, nor are the Sony cameras. Yes, you can do vids with the Sony's, and they shot some episodes of Two and A Half Men with the Nikon D800, but with different lenses. You want lenses that are color matched, focus gear capability, long focus throw, and hyperfocal scales, clickless apertures, and footage markings.....you get this with Zeiss Milvus, Otus, Irex, CP3 lenses by Zeiss, etc...lots of other brands designed for videography and cinema. You can shoot a movie with a 1960's 8mm camera, but there is a better way today. It is about the right lenses...while the body is more then enough. A 4k tv is only 8mp, our cameras are doing 45mp.....the body is more than enough......it is all about the lens build, built for videography. This is why they say you buy a lens system once to last a lifetime, but we will buy many bodies. Adapters are used, also interchangeable lens mounts in some lenses......they will have 5 different brand of cameras, and have to be able to switch the same lens between 5 different bodies. What's funny is I weighed my Z7 (with battery and memory card) with FTZ adapter and smallrig L-Bracket and it was 872g. So if you decided to shoot with f-mount lenses on a Z6/7, and weight is a concern, you aren't saving much. I ended up buying a well used D810 from mpb for $529. Such a bargain.

I tried some rainy night in Melb photos recently, used 40mm f2 at about f4. Is it best to go wide open for the light or try F7.1 for more depth of field. Really love your style, want to practice.
